It`s been almost three years since global online poker giant PokerStars first stepped foot in India. The ring-fenced PokerStars India launched in April 2018, bringing the same industry-leading security and poker experience to Indian players. The site has played a pivotal role in growing the game ever since by undertaking several pioneering efforts to take the game mainstream.

With an eye to the future, the India-facing site has come out with a well-planned roadmap for 2021, promising an action-packed year for players across stakes and game choices.

It`s a well-known fact that PokerStars is an MTT-centric brand, and PokerStars India players are assured of five major MTT stops spread across the year. Getting the ball rolling will be the Winter Series that starts on January 17. Crowd favorites like the Micro Millions, INSCOOP, and the Diwali Rush also form part of the 2021 schedule, with the site planning on bringing the internationally acclaimed Stadium Series to India this year.

PokerStars India will be turning THREE on April 17, and to mark the occasion, the site has a mega Anniversary Freeroll in the works – something that will likely be hosted as part of the INSCOOP.

The DAAN Utsav week is another initiative that might be making a second run in 2021. The brand will run fund raising events to benefit charitable causes as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

MTT stops aside, PokerStars India has attractive Reload Deposit Offers and Cash Game Promos on offer for cash game players, not to forget the recently revamped Star Rewards program that got a significant facelift with several new products and categories.

But perhaps one of the most significant new launches in the 2021 pipeline – something PokerStars India has hinted would be rolled out in the first financial quarter – will be the launch of a New Generation (NG) mobile app! While the existing app is already an industry-leading product, the new app will address the few issues players have been facing while further enhancing the player experience on the site!

With nearly all aspects catered for, PokerStars India has mapped out an ambitious roadmap for 2021. Let`s take a closer look at what`s in store for players!

A Blockbuster MTT Lineup!

PokerStars India will be hosting five major MTT series through 2021, including the brand-new Stadium Series.

> Winter Series (Jan 17 – 24): Sounding off the action in 2021 will be the Winter Series that starts this coming Sunday. The eight-day long extravaganza guarantees ₹2.5 Crores across 54 events and will give away an additional ₹7 Lakhs in leaderboard prizes. The showstopper will be the ₹40 Lakh GTD Progressive Knockout Main Event that features a ₹7,700 entry buy-in.

PokerStars India Winter Series 2021

> Micro Millions (March)

Micro Millions is the brand’s tournament offering for low-stakes players. Last year, the series was hosted in July, but this year PokerStars India has preponed it to March.

Arguably the most popular series hosted by the brand, the Indian avatar of the global favorite SCOOP hosted its most successful edition ever last May. The series returns this May again.

> Stadium Series (August)

Last July, PokerStars ambitiously introduced a new online summer series called the Stadium Series. And the flagship fest will be making its debut run in India this August. More details will likely be released closer to the start of the series.

> Diwali Rush (November)

The Diwali Rush has become an annual tradition at PokerStars India, packing quite the punch during the festival season. Last November, the Diwali Rush guaranteed more than ₹2.74 Crore across 55 events. Will the 2021 edition be bigger and better? We sure hope so!

New Formats in Regular MTTs

PokerStars India is looking to streamline its regular MTT schedule in 2021, and players can expect new formats introduced in the featured and semi featured events every week.

Expect –

  • The first and third week of every month to have regular formats
  • The second week to feature KO format
  • The fourth week to be Micro format

The Anniversary Celebrations!

Yes, PokerStars India turns THREE on April 17. Like every year, there will be a mega Freeroll marking the occasion. Last year, the Freeroll was clubbed with the INSCOOP Series, and this year the Anniversary Freeroll may either be hosted as a standalone tourney on April 17 or as part of the INSCOOP towards April-end or beginning of May.

Reload Deposit Offers, Cash Game Promos & Star Rewards

> Deposit Offers and Cash Game Promotions – These are staples of every online poker site. In 2021, PokerStars India intends to follow different mechanics for its deposit offers to provide Real Cash Bonus and MTT tickets more regularly. The site will also be launching some of the most popular cash game promos of the parent site, PokerStars, in India.

> Star Rewards – PokerStars India revamped its Rewards Store entirely in December. And there`s more still to come! The site has announced that it will be introducing several new products and categories through 2021.

> Cash Game Leaderboards – The Cash Game leaderboards will run as usual through the year, with a few changes.

All-New Mobile App!

PokerStars India’s New Generation (NG) app has been in the making for some time now, and something tells us that the wait will be worth it! The state-of-the-art new app will likely appear on the Indian app stores in the first financial quarter of 2021.

We tried to egg out a few more details. Still, all we know is that many issues that have affected the app’s functionality will be taken care of in the upgrade, assuring players a far superior playing experience.

The “Daan Utsav” CSR Tradition

In October 2020, PokerStars India played host to the seven-day-long “Play For A Cause” Charity tournament series that ran as part of the Daan Utsav week. Through the initiative, the site raised and matched funds to support seven different charities.

Continuing its CSR initiatives through 2021, PokerStars India will be doing similar fund raising events to continue supporting relevant causes.

Please Note: PokerStars India has underlined that the timelines mentioned above and promotions are subject to change depending on different factors.
