This past week was an adrenaline-filled one for PokerStars India players, with the site`s ₹2.5 Crores GTD Winter Series offering them a shot at winning massive cash prizes! The one constant has been the tight race to win a berth in the month-ending “Star of the Month” Finale. The mega leaderboard race is just a week away from completing four months, and as always, we have a new batch of 25 qualifiers heading to the Finale.
Having already emphasized the Winter Series, it`s hardly surprising to see the series’ Main Event champion Jai Saha topping the “Star of the Month” – January Week #4 standings. Not new to winning PokerStars India flagships, the young poker talent collected 694 TLB points from his blazing run in the Main Event on Sunday, winning a nifty ₹6.90 Lakhs in prize money. Not to forget, a seat in the January Finale!
The top-five lineup on the Week #4 leaderboard is a stacked one with heavyweights like Neeraj Kumar (556 points), Vishnu Khandelwal (490 points), “Star of the Month” – November, Ashish Munot (401 points), and Rishab Malik (393 points) rounding up the top rankings. This was something we had come to expect, especially after a firecracker online stop like the Winter Series!
Like always, a host of prominent players have made it to the Finale. Making the Week #4 list are notable regs like PokerGuru Ambassador Shashank Desai (346 points), Abhishek Garg (342 points), Chirag Sodha (332 points), Anurag Srivastava (313 points), Young Gun Abhinav Iyer (278 points), Vinayak Bajaj (242 points), PokerGuru Ambassador Gokul Raj (231 points), Guneet Kwatra (226 points), Shravan Chhabria (200 points), and PokerStars India Team Pro Muskan Sethi (191 points).
To do a quick roundup of PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” promotion, this is a mega leaderboard race that automatically ranks players based on their ITM finishes in the two qualifying events running daily on the site. These are the 7.30 PM and 10.30 PM tourneys on Monday through Saturday and the 5 PM and 10.30 PM marquees on Sundays. Every week, the 25 top-ranked players on the leaderboard advance to the month-ending Finale. The Finale winner is named the “Star of the Month” and wins ₹1.15 Lakh worth of MTT tickets along with a branded goodie bag. The runner-up receives ₹35,000 worth of MTT tickets.
