PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” (SOTM) mega leaderboard race has begun afresh, and the first batch of 25 qualifiers for March has come in. Guess what? Leading the Week #1 standings is a familiar name in Karan Jain.
The Delhi-based lawyer worked up 992 TLB points on the SOTM leaderboard last week, nothing new for Jain, a consistent winner on PokerStars India. He was one of the toppers in the first month of the SOTM race last October and has made it to the Finale at least twice since – in November and February. This is his fourth time qualifying for the Finale. Last week, Jain took down two-weekday marquees and came runner-up in the third to storm his way into the March Finale.
The Special PKO champion Ranjeet Negi (599 points), Vinayak Bajaj (471 points), Sagar Choudhury (387 points), and Abhishek Chhajer (369 points) were others rounding out the top five positions on the Week #1 leaderboard standings.
The Week #1 qualifiers list includes several other online regs like Partho Datta (367 points), Avijit Jaiswal (359 points), Manish Lakhotia (335 points), Ashit Sharma (281 points), Sreeharsha Boneni (276 points), PokerGuru Ambassadors Devvrat Arya (272 points) and Gokul Raj (269 points), Pranav Khandalkar (265 points), Faiz Alam (263 points), Vaibhav Sharma (235 points), Debneil Mukherjee (230 points), Ritwik Khanna (213 points) and Vaibhav Bhatia (212 points).
All 100 qualifiers from the month-long race will reconvene for the Finale on March 24 (9 PM).
To recap the “Star of the Month” promotion, it’s a leaderboard race that awards players making ITM finishes in two daily qualifying tourneys on PokerStars India TLB points. The events awarding TLB points include the 7.30 PM and the 10.30 PM tourneys running from Monday to Saturday and the 5 PM and 10.30 PM tourneys on Sundays. Each week, the top 25-ranked players on the leaderboard qualify for the month-ending Finale that awards ₹1.15 Lakhs in MTT tickets to the champion and tickets worth ₹35,000 to the runner-up.
