PokerStars India “Star of The Month:” Karan Jain Tops the 25 Week #4 Qualifiers; October Finale Set For November 4

And so, an entire month of action on PokerStars India has whizzed past, completing its first, four-week sprint for the all-new PokerStars India “Star of the Month” Leaderboard! This is an exclusive PokerStars India-hosted promotion, where every week, the top 25 ranked players on the leaderboard with profiles registered on PokerGuru progress to the month-ending Finale.

Topping the 25 qualifiers from the just-ended Week #4 standing was Karan ‘999AykA999’ Jain. The Delhi-based online reg collected 648 points towards the leaderboard race and is placed fourth overall in the month’s rankings.

Sitting at #1 on the points tally is ‘RAV1619’ with 854 points, but since the player is not registered on PokerGuru, they have missed making it to the Finale. PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat Arya (717 points) and Armaan Kochhar (701 points) round out the overall top 3 on the leaderboard. Both players had already qualified for the Finale in the preceding weeks.

The shortlisted 100 players from the four weeks will now be converging for the Finale, all set to take off at 9 PM on November 4. The winner of the Finale will walk away with the bragging rights of becoming the PokerStar India “Star of the Month” – October and take home ₹1.15 Lakhs worth of MTT tickets. There are ₹35,000 in tickets kept aside for the runner-up as well!

1. Karan Jain

Leaderboard Points – 648

Karan ‘999AykA999’ Jain tops the week #4 TLB standing with 648 points. Jain got a great headstart after taking down the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Eliminator for ₹1.03 Lakhs on Monday. While he had to navigate past 258 other challenges to make it to the top, the same night, he also final-tabled the ₹1 Lakhs GTD BigStack Turbo for ₹11,945.

Another FT finish in the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition sealed the deal for Jain, assuring this former PGT champion a berth in the October Finale.

Leaderboard Points – 401

Goonjan ‘gmtesting.ind’ Mall is one player who needs no introduction. And he was on a roll this week, as he all but grabbed the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition title on October 29, eventually placing runner-up for ₹1.43 Lakhs. He cashed two other tournies over the weekend to collect 401 points and trails Jain at #2 on the Week #4 standing.

3. Rahul Thakur

Leaderboard Points – 388

Rahul ‘Andarkiaag’ Thakur’s crowning performance of the week was when he won the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars on Wednesday for ₹95,585. Thakur topped the 271-strong field to claim the bragging rights, consolidating his position at the #3 spot with 388 points.

4. Umesh Sharma

Leaderboard Points – 316

Umesh Sharma, aka, ‘dhondu.chilll’ has made it to the top 5 on the final week of the leaderboard race for October, where he’s placed fourth with 316 points. Sharma ran deep in the Eliminator on Monday night and closed it out with a third-place score worth ₹44,522.

5. Kunal Patni

Leaderboard Points – 211

Banker-turned-poker player Kunal ‘iAlwaysHaveIt’ Patni is the fifth player on the week’s list of qualifiers. Like Mall, Patni was also in the reckoning to win the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition on Thursday. With PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja coming out on top, Patni eventually placed fourth to collect ₹42,102. He closed out the week with 211 points!
