Week #2 of PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” leaderboard race is now in the books. This is a mega leaderboard race that commenced on October 5.
Every week the top 25 players (only those registered on PokerGuru) who finish ITM in the two daily qualifying events on the site make it to the Leaderboard finale to be held in the first week of the subsequent month. The winner of the Finale is to be named the PokerStars India “Star of the Month.” There is more than just the bragging rights of becoming the “Star of the Month,” as each month the winner of this title stands to earn MTT tickets worth ₹1.15 Lakhs, with ₹35,000 kept aside for the runner-up!
Joining the 25 qualifiers from Week #1, another 25 Week #2 qualifiers have booked a berth in the October Finale. Topping the Week #2 leaderboard was Yash “hasyY@$#116” Shrivastava, who collected 407 points throughout the week. Shrivastava’s most defining run through the list of qualifying events came in the ₹6 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale that he shipped for ₹1.22 Lakhs on Saturday. Shrivastava would, however, have not made it to the top, had the week’s leaderboard topper ‘muttonmm’ (741 points) registered with PokerGuru and ‘opted-in’ on sharkscope. For these reasons, they are not eligible to qualify for the month-ending Finale this week.
Giving Shrivastava company on the Week #2 Leaderboard list of toppers are Partho ‘SpidermanIndia’ Datta (333 points), Vineet ‘TheMentalistNo1’ Kumar (323 points), Pranay ‘aankhdikhatahai’ Chawla (288 points) and Guneet ‘GSK1515’ Kwatra (264 points).
Just so you know, to be eligible for the PokerStars India’s ‘Star of the Month’ leaderboard, you have to finish ITM in the two qualifying tourneys daily – running at 7.30 PM and 10.30 PM on the site from Monday to Saturday, and the 5 PM and 10.30 PM tourneys on Sunday. The target is to consistently keep collecting points to make it in the top 25 of the week’s leaderboard to find a seat in the month’s Leaderboard Finale lined up for 9 PM on November 4.
The other top Week #2 finishers like Neeraj Kumar (624 points), PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat Arya (565 points), Siddharth Gangwar (549 points), and Young Gun Arsh Grover (461 points) are notably missing in this week’s list since they have already secured their seats in Week #1.
