After its soft launch into New Jersey a few days ago, PokerStars officially returned to the Garden State yesterday with a fully approved license. Ending a dry spell that lasted almost five years, the site www.PokerStarsNJ.com is now operational and roaring with all the patent familiars. The site announced the official return on its blog and David Baazov, CEO Amaya stated that, “We could not be more proud to bring PokerStars to New Jersey, we look forward to providing the most exciting, innovative and secure gaming experience to New Jersey,” he said.

To acquire the license, Amaya had to tie up with the land-based Resorts Casino and Hotel. Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts, echoed the enthusiasm, “This is a great day for online gaming, for state players and residents and for Atlantic City.”

PokerStars had run the soft launch capped at 500 players, which was completely filled just before its official release yesterday. The soft launch met with immense success and had industry operators and players rooting for the site’s return, with praise for the new global software. Here on, all eligible players in New Jersey will be able to enjoy PokerStars’ games legally. The company stated that it would continue its global practices of verifying location and age, ensuring account segregation and responsible gaming principles to monitor and control site activity. In its post it was announced that, “As one of the world’s most regulated online gaming companies with licenses in more than a dozen jurisdictions and more than 100 million cumulative registered customers around the world, Amaya is committed to implementing the highest standards of regulation, safety and security.”

The New Jersey site will offer the hugely popular Spin & Go tournaments, which have already created 13 international millionaires last year. There will also be the regular special Sunday offers, as well as casino games like Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and Slots. Besides this, the New Jersey PokerStars would also have its unique online promotions, bonuses and live events, which would be available to players from mobiles, tablets and desktops.

Players with earlier real-money or play-money accounts at PokerStars can avail of a welcome offer, based on their past play history. All they need is to download the free PokerStars New Jersey software, create a new account using log-in details from their past accounts. They will then be eligible to receive last held VIP status, Play Money Chips, and StarsCoin, which were formerly known as Frequent Player Points. StarCoins are the new PokerStars currency, usable to purchase online tournament tickets, merchandise and even cash rewards from the PokerStars New Jersey VIP Store.

This offer will be open only until May 31, 2016. Players who set up an account on PokerStarsNJ.com will also be eligible for a first deposit bonus, as well as a ticket to a $25,000 freeroll (last only for sign-ups in the first seven days).
