It`s been a record-shattering Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series so far, and the action has been on the uptick ever since the start of the six SCOOP Main Events. The three PLO Main Event crowned champions yesterday, while the trio of NLHE Main Events played down to the FT on Day 3.
The showstopper tourney at the series, Event #74-High: $10,300 NLHE 8-Max Main Event, saw Belgian player Pieter ‘XMorphineX’ Aerts claiming the chip lead. The $1,050 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event $5 Million GTD formulated its final table within six hours of play. Leading the charge is online phenom Michael ‘merla888’ Gathy, who has three SCOOP titles and an equal number of WCOOP titles under his belt – none of them in Main Events yet, but that could change soon.
Meanwhile, Latvia’s ‘auercan’ leads the final nine players in the $109 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event.
