PokerStars is currently hosting its biggest-ever Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series. After a blockbuster Sunday opening, the trio of NLHE 8-Max Main Events and the three PLO 6-Max Main Events completed Day 2 play on Monday.

The $10,300 NLHE buy-in 8-Max Main Event saw Artem ‘veeea’ Vezhenkov bagging the end of Day 2 chip lead among 40 survivors. In the $1,050 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event, it was ‘Tydarax’ sitting with the overnight chip lead. Anonymous player ‘larvovec’ closed out Day 2 as the chip leader in the $109 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event.

Making headlines yet again was Connor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan, who has been in tremendous form at this series, winning an incredible four SCOOP titles. He is a serious contender to win the fifth title in the $10,300 buy-in PLO 6-Max Main Event, where he resumes Day 3 play at the top of the seven-handed FT. In the other PLO Main Events, it was Adam ‘Adamyid’ Owen who bagged the chip lead in the $1,050 buy-in PLO 6-Max Main Event $750K GTD, while ‘b8chatz’ is the frontrunner among the 18 finalists in the $109 buy-in PLO 6-Max Main Event $400K GTD.

Event #74-H: $10,300 NLHE 8-Max Main Event $5 Million GTD – Day 2

The 609-entry starting field in the $10,300 NLHE buy-in 8-Max Main Event has been whittled down to 40 players. Leading the charge is Artem ‘veeea’ Vezhenkov with 8,785,576 in chips. Michael ‘merla888’ Gathy (8,781,892), and Michael ‘imluckbox’ Addamo (8,085,377) are close on his trail as the next top stacks.

The event registered 561 entries (401 unique and 160 re-entries) on Day 1, and only 199 players survived the day`s onslaught. With the late registration period open till five minutes before Day 2, 14 new players joined the action, while 34 players re-entered. The total entry was boosted to 609 entries (415 unique and 194 re-entries) to accrue a prize pool worth $6.09 million.

The top 79 places were paid a slice of the prize pool.

‘serggorelyi7’ became the money bubble before all remaining were assured a min-cash.

Steve ‘Mr. Tim Caum’ O’Dwyer (44th for $26,786), defending champion Gianluca ‘Tankanza’ Speranza (49th for $26,786), Timothy ‘Tim0thee’ Adams (50th for $26,786), Day 1 chip-leader Calvin ‘cal42688’ Anderson (56th for $21,662), Dominik ‘Bounatirou’ Nitsche (57th for $21,662), Fedor ‘CrownUpGuy’ Holz (59th for $21,662), Sergi ‘srxakgirona’ Reixach (66th for $21,662), Gary ‘quiditbear’ Hasson (69th for $21,662), Justin ‘ZeeJustin’ Bonomo (74th for $21,662), and Sam ‘SamSquid’ Grafton (79th for $21,662) all fell out on Day 2.

Making the Day 3 list is the well-known poker coach Benjamin ‘bencb789’ Rolle (6,666,824), Thomas ‘MarToMchat’ Boivin (5,803,834), and Pieter ‘XMorphineX’ Aerts (5,439,874).

The $1,050 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event $5 Million GTD logged in 6,038 entries on Day 1, and another 437 players joined before the start of Day 2 to create a prize pool worth $6.48 million. The top 799 places are to get paid.

Rui ‘Silden4filho’ Bouquet bubbled the event.

Jesper ‘KipsterDK’ Hougaard (80th for $6,230), Jorryt ‘TheCleaner11’ van Hoof (100th for $6,230), Rens ‘Rens02’ Feenstra (111th for $5,561), Javier ‘que_te_crio’ Fernandez (258th for $3,959), Mikael ‘Vakio Assa’ Koistinen (284th for $3,959), Ignat ‘0Human0’ Liviu (415th for $3,157), Patrick ‘pads1161’ Leonard (477th for $3,157), and Adrian ‘Amadi_17’ Mateos (715th for $2,247) were some notables who cashed on Day 2.

Claiming the end-of-day chip lead was ‘Tydarax’ with a stack of 21,474,150.

The $109 buy-in NLHE 8-Max Main Event drew a massive field of 46,238 entries (42,754 entries on Day 1, and 3,484 entries before the start of Day 2). The $3 Million guarantee was exceeded by over $1.5 million, with the final tally touching $4.62 Million.

The top 643 players received a payout.

After almost 28 levels of play, Day 2 ended with only 159 survivors left in the field. Anonymous player ‘larvovec’ bagged the most massive stack of 44,059,712 at the end of Day 2 with ‘maaciej’ (23,340,283) and ‘gajor93’ (19,399,361) rounding out the top three advancing stacks.

Notables still in the running include Dietrich ‘2pacnrw16’ Fast (11,999,415), Darrell ‘FourSixFour’ Goh (5,342,022), Joep ‘Pappe_Ruk’ van den Bijgaart (3,260,693), and Daniil ‘Dancer King’ Kiselev (3,171,450).

The biggest of the three PLO Main Events, the $10,300 buy-in PLO 6-Max Main Event, saw 136 registrations on Day 1, and with 23 more entries jumping in before Day 2 started the total field size went up to 159.

The $1.36 Million prize pool is to be shared among the top 19 places.

After four and a half hours of play, Alex ‘dynoalot’ Difelic busted the money bubble in 20th place.

Ben ‘Ben86’ Tollerene (8th for $54,14), Laszlo ‘omaha4rollz” Bujtas (10th for $43,909), Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth (13th for $35,609), Joao ‘IneedMassari’ Simao (15th for $28,878), and Ola ‘Odd_Oddsen’ Amunsgard (16th for $28,878) were the top regs who crashed out before the final table was formed.

The formation of the seven-handed final table brought an end to the Day 2 proceedings. Making the headlines yet again was Connor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan, who with his stack of 12.09 Million in the FT chip leader. This has been a breakout series for Drinan, who has already achieved the unthinkable, winning four SCOOP titles in a single year to tie the legendary Shaun Deep`s SCOOP record. And he is eyeing title number five.

Close behind Drinan are Jens ‘Jeans89’ Kyllonen (8,590,196), and Joao ‘Naza114’ Vieira (6,661,273).

Gavin ‘gavz101’ Cochrane (4,149,522), former Main Event Champion Talal ‘raidalot’ Shakerchi (1,704,952), and Day 1 chip leader Linus ‘LLinusLLove’ Loeliger (1,169,919) are the other prominents on the FT.

Claiming the end-of-day chip lead was Adam ‘Adamyid’ Owen with a stack of 19,533,458. ‘BomPang’ (10,210,354), and Ignat ‘0Human0’ Liviu (9,612,097), rounded out the top three stacks at the end of Day 2.

‘srki78’ was the unlucky money bubble ensuring the remaining 143 places min-cash worth $2,184.

Day 2 began with 873 players, and by the time the last hand of the day was dealt, only 18 players were remaining in the field.

Bagging the overnight chip lead was ‘b8chatz’ with his massive stack of 18,438,850. ‘mapof’ (16,035,000) and ‘goldenmuzzle’ (12,762,229) hold the next top stacks.
