Celebrated TV poker host Kara Scott (cover image) has announced plans of leaving PartyPoker at the end of 2014. Last month famed poker player Vicky Coren Mitchell ended her contract with PokerStars, a decision triggered by the company`s decision to introduce online casino games on the site.
Kara Scott is Canadian by nationality and well known as a prominent TV poker personality, journalist and notable poker player. Kara was born in northern Alberta, Canada and relocated to the United Kingdom in 1999. She was part of the UK media till 2009 and joined PartyPoker in 2010 as their brand ambassador.
Kara has been associated with PartyPoker for nearly 5 years and cited the company’s declining priority for TV projects as the cause of the spilt.
Explaining the reasons for her move, Kara said, āI was recruited in large part for my on-camera work. PartyPoker has gone through many changes and unfortunately as their focus shifted, there were fewer and fewer TV projects. As those shows disappeared, so did one of my favorite parts of the job and now my association with Party is ending. However, Iām not going anywhere. I still love playing poker and have made a lot of great friends in the industry.ā
However, the parting was an amicable one with Kara saying that this move did not mean she was leaving the poker industry completely. According to her, she still had the passion for playing poker and was grateful for the sport to have given the opportunities to make very good friends in the poker industry. She also acknowledged that the last five years were a great learning experience and she had several moments to cherish. Kara is looking forward to pursuing poker related activities in the near future that interest and excite her.
In her last blog posting in November, Kara Scott said that she was glad to be back in Canada. She also expressed her gratitude to PartyPoker for allowing her to take a break twice a year enabling her to play poker in Montreal and meet old buddies.
