As we near the weekend, online poker traffic typically shows a significant rise. However, with the second wave of COVID-19 nearly paralyzing the country, the MTT turnouts have been peaking, and the Thursday attendance was equally encouraging.
The former FTS Challenger winner Rohan Bhasin was the day’s biggest winner as not only did he take down Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday for ₹4.16 Lakhs, but he also won Adda52’s Monster Turbo for ₹2.05 Lakhs, raking in ₹6.21 Lakhs overall.
Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra championed PokerBaazi’s The Summit for ₹4 Lakhs to storm into the top 10 annual leaderboard standings. PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (Won Spartan Poker’s Monster Stack for ₹2.14 Lakhs) and Kunal Patni (Won PokerStars India’s Highroller for ₹2.01 Lakhs) were the day’s other big winners.

The fifth and final ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire of April kicked off yesterday. Running from 7 PM to 11:38 AM, the ₹5,500 buy-in tourney logged in 344 entries on its first starting flight, and 50 runners progressed to Day 2. Vivek ‘acchemicals’ Karwa (297,715) bagged the end-of-day chip lead. ‘magicmountain’ (246,745) and ‘haristo’ (221,673) picked up the next two big stacks.
Spartan Poker’s ₹18 Lakhs GTD Trending Thursday collected a hefty ₹21.46 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 613 entries. After a little over eight hours of play, the FTS Challenger champion Rohan ‘The Sightseer’ Bhasin took down the title and the top prize of ₹4.16 Lakhs. Vivekk ‘MI7’ Dube came in second for ₹2.63 Lakhs.
Bhasin had come close to shipping the Mega Stack – Millionaire Bubble on Tuesday but lost the heads-up battle to finish second for ₹2.36 Lakhs. He more than made up for it last night by taking down a second title in Adda52’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD Monster Turbo for ₹2.05 Lakhs, raking in ₹6.21 Lakhs in Thursday winnings.
The other marquee on offer, the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack, saw PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘bazzingaa’ Singh Chadha walking away with the title and a ₹2.14 Lakhs payday. The former AOPS Mini Main Event champion bested ‘MALLI0035’ (runner-up for ₹1.36 Lakhs) heads-up, pushing his lifetime tally closer to the ₹7 Crore-mark (₹6.90 Crores).
PokerStars India
The ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller headlined the Thursday night action on PokerStars India. The ₹7,700 entry buy-in tourney gathered 146 participants, crushing its advertised guarantee by ₹22,000.
