Blockbuster, phenomenal, spectacular – no matter how many adjectives we use, it will still fall short in describing what an amazing Sunday this past one was! Saurabh Rohila and Abhimanyu Mittal were the two players who wrote their names into poker history last night. While Rohila emerged as the new IOPC – The Crown champion on Spartan Poker, banking a career-best ₹55.55 Lakhs (cumulatively), Mittal took down the first-ever THC Main Event champion, netting ₹13.04 Lakhs!
The former SSS Millionaire champion, Saurabh Rohila, has been on a four-day run unlike any we have seen off late. On Thursday, his heater started with a thumping victory in the IOPC #107 – Super High Roller. He followed that up by finishing runner-up in IOPC #115 – Friday Spotlight and shipped the IOPC #123 – Saturday Spotlight the next day! And he ended his IOPC June 2022 campaign with a blast by walking away with the diamond-studded gold crown and a career-best ₹56.38 Lakhs overall. His breakthrough run saw him hitting three significant milestones:
> Crossing ₹4 Crores in lifetime winnings
> Crossing ₹1 Crore in annual earnings
> Storming into the top 10 (#7) of the yearly leaderboard standings
> Climbing to #1 in the monthly leaderboard standings
Rohila chopped the IOPC – The Crown title heads-up with the mystery user ‘washerman’ (2nd for ₹48.97 Lakhs), while Neeraj Sattawat made away with a career-best ₹23.87 Lakhs in third place (₹24.70 Lakhs overall).
Where Rohila’s domination has been solely in the IOPC June 2022, Abhimanyu Mittal has done well in both the IOPC and 1100 THC stops. Coming in hot after winning the IOPC #115 – Friday Spotlight, the 27-year-old poker reg won the first-ever THC#99 Main Event title for ₹13.04 Lakhs, his second-best finish to date. Mittal’s run saw him rake in ₹18.54 Lakhs collectively.
Avadh Shah (Won THC#98 Megastack for ₹2.03 Lakhs), ‘Tp212121’ (Won THC#100 AfterParty for ₹1.09 Lakhs), and Akhilesh Gautam (Won THC#97 (4-Max) Hyper Turbo for ₹1.06 Lakhs) wrapped up the inaugural 1100 THC Series in style.
Up-and-coming player Rajneesh Thakur topped the ₹10 Lakhs GTD THC leaderboard bagging in ₹2.21 Lakhs leaderboard prizes.
PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit Wadhawan was among the top pros making the Sunday headlines. The PokerGuru Staking stalwart won Spartan Poker IOPC #127 – Sunday Prime for ₹13.20 Lakhs, picking up his first title of the series and added ₹16.57 Lakhs cumulatively across his Sunday run. He chopped the Sunday Prime title heads-up with ‘grinderunision’ (2nd for ₹12.12 Lakhs).
Venkatesh Mukundan (Won IOPC #131 – Value Mine for ₹5.01 Lakhs), Shashank Murarka (Won IOPC #129 – Sunday Spotlight for ₹4.80 Lakhs), ‘WhatIffGawd’ (Won IOPC #132 for ₹2.53 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (IOPC #128 – All Rounder SNG for ₹3 Lakhs), Utkarsh Vaish (Won IOPC #125 for ₹1.61 Lakhs), and ‘Angelic30’ (Won IOPC #126 – Monster Stack for ₹1.44 Lakhs) won the other IOPC titles on the last day of the series.
Bhanu Prakash KC continued with his leaderboard crushing spree, topping the ₹1 Crore GTD IOPC leaderboard for a record-extending fourth time (second consecutive time), collecting ₹30 Lakhs in bonus money.
Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra was one of Sunday’s breakout winners and added a whopping ₹9.28 Lakhs overall. The IIT-IIM alumni made six ITM runs, two of which were top finishes in the two PokerStars India flagships. His top finishes came in Spartan Poker’s IOPC #127 – Sunday Prime (7th for ₹2.50 Lakhs), PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller (1st for ₹2.10 Lakhs), and Sunday Special (2nd for ₹1.85 Lakhs).
Another player who has been consistently churning out the big scores is Young Gun Sahil Chutani. The poker coach was at the top of his game yesterday as he took down PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for a second time for ₹5.21 Lakhs.
Spartan Poker pro Nikita Luther ended a long dry spell and topped the Adda52 charts after winning the Adda52 Millions title for ₹6.84 Lakhs. Yohan Patel came second for ₹4.08 Lakhs.

Considered one of the most prestigious online tournaments in the country, the multi-flight event clocked in a guarantee-crushing 4,721 entries across eight starting flights, locking in a massive ₹4.72 Crores prize pool.
It took seven hours of Day 2 play for Saurabh ‘darksider’ Rohila to walk away with the IOPC diamond-studded gold crown and a career-best ₹53.78 Lakhs (₹55.55 Lakhs cumulatively) following a heads-up deal with ‘washerman’ (2nd for ₹48.97 Lakhs).
