The US Poker Open (USPO), part of the PokerGo Tour (PGT) Season 2022, made its way back to the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on March 16, with the action streaming on the PokerGO app.

The series opener, Event #1: $10K No-Limit Hold’em crowned a winner in Shannon Shorr, who took home $213,900. The second event, Event #2: $10K Pot-Limit Omaha, was shipped by Justin Young for $200,200.

Event #1: $10K No-Limit Hold’em

The series opener, Event #1: $10K NLHE, dragged in 93 entries. Shannon Shorr championed the field and fought an epic heads-up battle with Ren Lin to claim the title and top prize of $213,900, also picking up 214 points for the series leaderboard.

Shorr held a commanding 4:1 chip advantage over Lin at the start of the heads-up match, but the swingy heads-up saw Lin claw his way back to make it dead-even. Eventually, Lin pulled ahead into a 2:1 lead, but not before Shorr began to fight back. With a 2.5:1 chip advantage, Lin bluffed off a chunk of that stack with eight-high on a paired board. The rest, as they say, was history, as Shorr went on to win the title.

Joseph Cheong (6th for $55,800), Erik Seidel (5th for $74,400), and Daniel Negreanu (4th for $93,000) also reached the star-studded final table.

“This means a million times more than anything I’ve ever done in this room, cash games or otherwise,” Young said after winning the event. “Just to play with the best of the best in this room just means the world to me.”
