Shashank Mehrotra Starts Off 2022 With a Bang; Champions PokerBaazi’s PBC#1 The MoneyMaker For ₹19.75 Lakhs!

Three days into the New Year, we already have our first seven-figure winner! With the ‘PokerBaazi Classics’ getting underway on January 2, the first mega-event on the schedule was the ‘1 Flight, ₹1 Crore GTD’ PBC#1 The MoneyMaker. Shashank Mehrotra (cover image) trounced a 1,174 entry-field to claim the lion’s share of the ₹1.17 Crores prize pool worth ₹19.75 Lakhs! The former BSS SuperStack runner-up wasn’t the only player to pocket a seven-figure payday as The MoneyMaker runner-up Ranjeet Negi also added ₹13.84 Lakhs in prize money.

Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal added another title to his tally after taking down Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack for ₹7.55 Lakhs.

Anant Purohit was the last player standing in Adda52’s Roller Coaster and banked ₹5.36 Lakhs. He chopped the title heads-up with Sahil Nair (2nd for ₹5.07 Lakhs).

Dhaval Mudgal was another prominent winner on the last day of Adda52’s New Year Carnival. The MPL Poker Team Pro came out on top in Carousel to win ₹5.16 Lakhs, outlasting ‘Happyfish’ (anonymity requested), who locked in ₹3.05 Lakhs in second-place.

Rohit Mishra took down PokerBaazi’s PBC#2 BSS MonsterStack for ₹4.24 Lakhs, just as Bharat Vasan finished runner-up for ₹2.97 Lakhs.

The heads-up showdown in PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller was a highly contested battle between PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun Mahesh and Deepesh Raka. In the end, Mahesh took home the title for ₹2.69 Lakhs, and Raka settled for a runner-up payout worth ₹2.07 Lakhs.

Akshay Gupta shipped the other PokerStars India flagship, Sunday Special – PKO, for ₹2.44 Lakhs. Nitin Arora secured a second-place payout worth ₹1.78 Lakhs.

PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha, Rising Star Aman Parakh, Mohak Kapoor, and Kunal Yadav won the other Sunday marquees.

The series opener, ‘1 Flight, ₹1 Crore GTD’ PBC#1 The MoneyMaker, logged in a guarantee-crushing 1,174 entries to generate ₹1.17 Crores in the prize pool. The former BSS Superstack runner-up finisher Shashank ‘shashank171992’ Mehrotra hit the jackpot, taking down the 13th edition of The MoneyMaker for a career-best ₹19.75 Lakhs. Ranjeet ‘Rj147’ Negi placed second for ₹13.84 Lakhs.

The former Megastack winner Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra championed the event for ₹4.24 Lakhs beating the two-time Sunday Superstack champion Bharat ‘Thinkfloyd’ Vasan (2nd for ₹2.97 Lakhs) in the heads-up play.

Akshay ‘VaahBhaiVaah’ Gupta was the last player standing and won ₹2.44 Lakhs, with Nitin ‘Checkshoveit’ Arora placing runner-up for ₹1.78 Lakhs.

Grabbing the single-biggest score on the site was the long-time circuit reg Anant ‘pro_baba’ Purohit, who overcame the 240-strong field in the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Roller Coaster to win the lion`s share of the ₹24 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹5.36 Lakhs. He chopped the title heads-up with Sahil ‘you3bi4b’ Nair, the latter adding ₹5.07 Lakhs, courtesy of the deal.

The ₹7.50 Lakhs GTD Gravitron wrangled in 436 entries to collect a guarantee-crushing ₹9.93 Lakhs prize pool. A total of 44 players cashed out, and the dust settled after the final two players agreed on a deal that crowned a winner in PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh ‘arjan30’ Chadha for ₹1.67 Lakhs.
