WSOP 2019: Mundada, Sharma, Lamba, Advani & Rughani Bank Scores on Day 3 of Monster Stack $1.5K NLHE

Another stellar run by Team India came to an end on Day 3 of Event #50: Monster Stack – $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em. A group of five Indians led by WSOP debutant Siddharth Mundada had waltzed into Day 3 along with 452 other entrants. After nine levels of rigorous play, when the dust settled, only 49 runners remained in contention for the $1,008,850 (~₹7 Crores) top prize.

Among those eliminated on Day 3 were the five Indian challengers. Vivek Rughani (324th for $4,418 – ₹3.06 Lakhs) was the first of the lot to be dismissed and he was followed to the rail by Romit Advani (268th for $5,005 – ₹3.46 Lakhs), Minissha Lamba (252nd for $5,005 – ₹3.46 Lakhs) and Nishant Sharma (143rd for $6,593 – ₹4.56 Lakhs). Mundada was the last Indian to be eliminated, and he bagged a career-best $10,626 (~₹7.36 Lakhs) from his 76th place finish.

Vincent Chauve (22,000,000) emerged as the overnight chip leader and will lead the 49 survivors to Day 4 which will commence 12 PM (Pacific Time Zone) on June 25.

 

Event #50: Monster Stack – $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em – Day 3

Promising talent Siddharth Mundada was the front runner of the Indian battalion as they charged into Day 3 of Event #50: Monster Stack $1.5K NLHE. Mundada had carried forward the 31st biggest stack of 1,395,000 but couldn’t make it to Day 4. He was the last Indian elimination and hit the rail in 76th place for $10,626 (~₹7.36 Lakhs). This is not only his best score at the series so far, but also his career-best live score till date.

Nishant Sharma had also carried a commendable stack of 1,039,000 to Day 3, but fell short of making the cut for Day 4, ultimately finishing 143rd for $6,593 (~₹4.56 Lakhs).

Celebrity poker player and former Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba also picked up her first-ever WSOP score in this event. She netted $5,005 (~₹3.46 Lakhs) for a 252nd place finish.

Romit Advani (268th for $5,005 – ₹3.46 Lakhs) and Vivek Rughani (324th for $4,418 – ₹3.06 Lakhs) rounded out the five Indian scores.

The big names who finished in the money included Andrew Barber (50th for $18,462), Ravi Raghavan (132nd for $6,593), Dmitry Yurasov (135th for $6,593), Sivaraman Ramakrishnan (136th for $6,593), Hiren Patel (138th for $6,593), Konstantin Puchkov (151st for $6,593), Joe Cada (171st for $5,719), Alexandru Papazian (185th for $5,719), Karim Chatur (199th for $5,719), Satyajit Dixit (241st for $5,005), Ali Imsirovic (277th for $5,005) and Sunny Chattha (300th for $4,418).

Among the notable stacks heading into Day 4 are poker promoter and entrepreneur Kevin Roster who has been diagnosed with a rare form of Sarcoma cancer. With a dream of playing the WSOP Main Event before his time is up, Roster seems to be making most of his time at the desert city. He has already cashed in Event #28: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em where he finished 135th for $2,410. He will be carrying forward a stack of 3,475,000 to Day 4.

Vincent Chauve (22,000,000) was the only player to cross the 22 Million-mark in chips and will headline the 49 Day 3 survivors who will return for Day 4 later tonight.
