WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit: Indian-Origin Soheb ‘tommyconway6’ Porbandarwala Ships Event #2: $100K GTD NLH

With the COVID-19 Pandemic leading to the cancelation of nearly 14 stops on the WSOP Circuit season, the brand decided to host the WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit from June 3-14. The series will award a guaranteed 13 seats into the Global Casino Championship (GCC). While 12 seats will go to the various winners of each event, the Casino Champ of the WSOP.com series will fill the final spot.

The series got off to a brisk start with Event #1: $100,000 GTD NLH Online Finale Circuit Kick-Off crowning a champion in ‘YoungGunz21’ for $42,528.

The second event on the schedule was the $320 buy-in, Event #2: $100,000 GTD NLH Online Finale Circuit 2x Re-entry that registered 397 unique players and 218 re-buys, leading to a prize pool collection of $184,500.

Trouncing the field to claim the title was Indian-origin pro Soheb ‘tommyconway6’ Porbandarwala, along with a top prize of $46,125. A resident of Stamford, Connecticut, Porbandarwala, had shipped the WSOP.com Online Circuit $525 Main Event for $95,160 in March. A four-time WSOPC ring winner, Porbandarwala boasts of an extended repertoire of live scores with total live earnings of $924,121.

The final table comprised of Jeremy ‘nothingpersnl’ Kottler (runner-up for $25,830), Ian ‘apokerjoker2’ Steinman (4th for $11,992), Matthew ‘MattyFlushes’ Larkin (5th for $10,147), Joseph ‘biueberry’ Cheong (8th for $4,243) and Brittney ‘blondewonder’ Stout (9th for $2,480).

Anthony ‘heheh’ Zinno (12th for $2,214), Anthony ‘flawlessbink’ Maio (18th for $1,476), Andrew ‘PintoPedro’ Donabedian (39th for $793), Lauren ‘sycamore22’ Roberts (49th for $774) and Scott ‘shaderade’ Stewart (56th for $756) were the others who crossed the money line in the reg-infested tourney.

Some elite players who failed to make it in the money included Ryan ‘WHOSYOURDODD’ Dodd, Mark ‘Nostradonkus’ Liedtke, Yong Keun ‘LuckySpewy1’ Kwon, Justin ‘Lappypoker’ Lapka and William ‘swaggyb’ Corvino.

It promises to be an action-packed weekend for the series with Event #3: $100,000 GTD Online Finale NLH Turbo Deepstack 2x Re-entry and Event #4: $150,000 GTD Online Finale Big 500 3x Re-entry expected to pull in massive turnouts.
