With Spartan Poker’s India Online Poker Championship 14.0 and PokerStars India’s Red Spade Series wrapping up, and PokerBaazi’s brand-new PLO Championship Series hitting its first weekend, it was an EPIC Sunday for online players! But it turned out to be an extra special one for us as the original ‘Poker Guru’ Aditya Agarwal donned the glittering IOPC The Crown!

The Kolkata-born pro has been a beacon for the domestic circuit and proved that the legendary status asserted to him is well deserved. Agarwal blasted through a guarantee-crushing 5,173-entry field (2,577 unique) in Spartan Poker’s Sunday showstopper and the biggest-guaranteed IOPC The Crown to date, the ₹5 Crores GTD IOPC #141 The Crown, to win an eye-popping ₹65.93 Lakhs* (from four stacks). When we said before that Agarwal donned the IOPC The Crown, we weren’t kidding since he will also be receiving a real-life 18-carat gold crown studded with 0.6-carat diamonds to commemorate this fantastic win!

While Agarwal was indubitably the star last night, Young Gun Arsh Grover‘s runner-up finish in IOPC #141 The Crown worth a career-best ₹48.93 Lakhs (from three stacks), courtesy of a heads-up deal, was equally commendable. The Delhi-based pro made four deep runs on Sunday, raking in a monstrous ₹50.55 Lakhs.

Following their top two finish in IOPC The Crown, Grover has taken charge of the #1 rank in the annual POY race, while Agarwal locked up the #2 position.
