December is here, and the virtual poker action has hit a fever pitch! As the year races to its conclusion, the Player of the Year (POY) contest is more heated than ever. This year’s POY battle has been unlike any other, with Natural8 India injecting a dose of adrenaline into the competition. Thanks to their non-stop barrage of mega-guarantee tournaments, seven and eight-figure scores have become almost commonplace, creating a POY race full of twists and surprises. With just weeks left, there’s still room for jaw-dropping shakeups!

Natural8 India’s APT Online 2024 might have wrapped up last night, but the high-stakes action is showing no signs of slowing down, especially with PokerBaazi’s ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online Series on the horizon. In the midst of this exhilarating grind, Anant Purohit delivered a poker masterclass, cementing his place as one of the most formidable forces in the game.

Purohit didn’t just win Natural8 India’s Sunday Bounty King 320; he demolished it, claiming a monstrous ₹19.10 Lakhs. But he wasn’t satisfied with just one victory. Purohit went on a rampage, posting deep runs in the Sunday Omaholic Bounty HR 525 (12th for ₹1.26 Lakhs) and the Bounty Builder HR Asia 525 (32nd for ₹1.11 Lakhs). His single-day winnings reached an astronomical ₹21.47 Lakhs, making him the undisputed “Sunday King”!

Purohit’s 2024 stats are simply mind-boggling. In a mere 14 weeks, he’s amassed ₹3.77 Crores on Natural8 India and a colossal ₹4.95 Crores across all platforms this year. Currently ranked #4 in the POY race, he’s breathing down the neck of the leader, Tarun Goyal. Could Purohit pull off a dramatic upset and seize the coveted POY crown? Only time will tell.

The excitement on Natural8 India was palpable, with incredible performances lighting up the virtual tables:

  • ‘rabrab’ celebrated their biggest win yet, taking down the Hyper Turbo Bounty 525 for ₹7.69 Lakhs.

This past Sunday, the stacked Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) schedule delivered its usual dose of high-octane action, but it was Himanshu ‘JohnnyStalker’ Taneja who emerged as the hero of the day with an awe-inspiring performance in the 50 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack—the crown jewel of the BSS lineup.

Himanshu Taneja
Himanshu Taneja

Taneja, no stranger to the spotlight after his impressive runner-up finish in The MoneyMaker 64.0 and a Daily Super Value victory in September, drew upon his two years of experience on PokerBaazi to navigate a colossal field of 1,135 entries (592 unique) in the 7:30 PM Sunday headliner. The battle raged on for an intense nine hours and 13 minutes, but Taneja’s focus never wavered. He orchestrated an epic comeback, pulling off a flawless run to win the marathon and seizing a 8.51 Lakhs prize – his second-largest score on the platform. This victory breaks Taneja’s 11-week title drought and marks his second-ever win on PokerBaazi.

This win elevates Taneja to the rank of the biggest Sunday winner on PokerBaazi and the second-biggest overall winner of the day, trailing closely behind the unstoppable Anant Purohit. Sunday brought us a story of a comeback kid with a taste for victory! ‘Realfc’ (anonymity requested), one of PokerBaazi’s most dedicated players, pulled off an incredible feat, taking down the ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS Super Value—the second-biggest Sunday tournament on the platform. Imagine battling through a staggering field of 1,232 entries (613 unique) and emerging as the champion! That’s precisely what ‘Realfc’ did after a thrilling heads-up deal, grabbing their second major title of the year.

But here’s the twist: ‘Realfc’ had been a bit of a ghost in recent months. After crushing it in the spring, they seemed to disappear from the virtual tables. Where did they go? What were they doing? Nobody knew! But then, in November, they reappeared with a vengeance, quickly making up for lost time. They were a constant presence at the final tables of the Blockbuster and Summit Lite, and they absolutely dominated the late-night Daily Last Chance with a win, three final table appearances, and a bunch of other deep runs. ‘Realfc’ completed their return to form by winning the BSS Super Value!

This 5 PM flagship tournament was a true test of poker stamina, stretching over nine and a half hours! ‘Realfc’ showed incredible focus and determination, steadily climbing the ranks and ultimately snatching the top prize of ₹3.39 Lakhs. It wasn’t easy—they needed three entries to get the job done—but it was worth it! This win marks their second-biggest score ever and their largest of the year on PokerBaazi. And they didn’t stop there! A deep run in the (6-Max) BSS SPRINT added to their winnings, bringing their total for the day to over ₹3.43 Lakhs.

> 1st in PokerBaazi’s BSS Super Value for ₹3,39,207* (heads-up deal)

> 53rd in PokerBaazi’s (6-Max) BSS SPRINT for ₹4,284

Another PokerBaazi regular, Raghav ‘Ragtag24’ Wahi, gave ‘Realfc’ a serious run for their money in the BSS Super Value. With only a Daily Night SPRINT win earlier this year, Wahi has been hungry for his second PokerBaazi title. He came agonizingly close this time, adding another chapter to his impressive history in this event, which includes a third-place finish in July. Despite his best efforts, Wahi had to settle for the runner-up spot, but he still walked away with a personal-best ₹3.04 Lakhs from a deal—his biggest payout on PokerBaazi so far!

Rajneesh ‘msdhoni’ Thakur, a mid-stakes beast currently ranked #2 on the annual TLB leaderboard, was also on fire this Sunday. November was a huge month for him, with victories in Adda52’s MMA Main Event and Friday Bounty, two wins in PokerBaazi’s (PLO-5) Boost, and a podium finish in the Daily Last Chance. He even racked up 13 final table appearances across different platforms!

Thakur cashed in eight more events, including a stunning runner-up finish in the Adda52 Millions. By the end of the night, he had amassed over ₹6.11 Lakhs in winnings!

> 12th in Adda52’s Nighttide DST Adda for ₹3,159

Sachan’s recent run to this victory was paved with both near misses. Since his win at The Quest Lite in late September, he’s come tantalizingly close to another major win twice, including a heartbreaking second-place finish in PokerBaazi’s BSS Super Value a fortnight ago, but last night, he wouldn’t be denied.

When the dust settled, the Delhi-based grinder had earned his first-ever (6-Max) BSS SPRINT title. Adding to his Sunday grind, Sachan also cashed in the BSS Super Value (58th for ₹1,035), rounding up his night with a total haul of ₹1.61 Lakhs.

The heads-up battle was a nail-biting showdown, with Sachan facing off against Karan ‘collingwood’ Sitlani, the revered “High Roller Specialist.” Sitlani, who recently crossed the ₹4 Crores mark in tracked online winnings, had a strong run with two bullets but fell short against Sachan, finishing as the runner-up for ₹1.05 Lakhs.

Sunday night was a whirlwind of intense poker action at Junglee Poker’s brand-new ₹15 Lakhs GTD Blockbuster Highroller as 132 ambitious challengers piled into the 9 PM flagship, but only one could emerge victorious.

Emerging from this crucible of talent was none other than Ankit ‘Shippament’ Wadhawan. But he didn’t stop there. Wadhawan crushed it on Pocket52, too, with final table finishes in PPC Pocket Kings, victories in Pocket Jacks and Pocket Magnets, and a solid third-place finish in the Pocket Highroller.

Aniket ‘anteman’ Waghmare is having a year that most poker players can only dream of! This Mumbai-based crusher has been dominating the online felts with some incredible victories in Spartan Poker’s Millionaire II and PokerBaazi’s The MoneyMaker 51.0 – an astonishing feat made even more impressive by the fact that he achieved it in the same year! And his November was insane, with wins in PokerBaazi’s The Quest and Adda52 Millions, plus a podium finish in Godfather. Waghmare has carried that red-hot form into December, taking down Adda52’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD Big Whale in spectacular fashion.

Aniket Waghmare
Aniket Waghmare

The Big Whale, a multi-flight weekend showstopper, attracted a packed field of 1,002 entries (619 unique) across five starting flights. Only 109 players made it to the 10 PM Sunday finale, where Waghmare battled for just under six hours against some of the best in the game. When the dust settled, he emerged as the champion, winning his first Big Whale title and a ₹7.51 Lakhs payday! This victory, which he sealed with a heads-up deal, is his third-biggest score on Adda52 this year and his fifth-biggest overall, solidifying his position as one of the top poker players of the year.

But he didn’t stop there! Waghmare also cashed in PokerBaazi’s BSS Super Value (132nd for ₹5,357), finishing his Sunday grind with almost ₹7.57 Lakhs in total winnings. This puts him within striking distance of hitting the ₹10 Crore mark in tracked online winnings—a truly monumental achievement!

Aniket Waghmare’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹9.99 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹3.84 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #11 | Annual Winnings: ₹1.97 Crores | Annual Profits: ₹77.81 Lakhs

The Big Whale final table was a star-studded affair. Waghmare had to outlast some serious competition, including Nishaanth ‘superdeluxe’ Shanmughasundaram, who has been on an absolute tear lately. Shanmughasundaram recently jumped from #7 to #3 in the POY race after opting into our tracking system last week, thanks in part to his victory in the Korea National Cup on Natural8 India. He gave Waghmare a run for his money in the Big Whale, ultimately finishing as the runner-up for ₹7.49 Lakhs after the heads-up deal. This score is his second-highest on Adda52 and comes just weeks after his Big Whale victory in early November. Talk about consistency!

Shanmughasundaram didn’t slow down after the Big Whale. He went on to make a deep run in the Adda52 Millions, finishing 17th for ₹31,647 and bringing his total Sunday winnings to almost ₹7.81 Lakhs!

Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram’s online stats (Adda52, PokerBaazi and Spartan Poker): Lifetime Winnings: ₹12.06 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹1.14 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #5 | Annual Winnings: ₹5.21 Crores (across all platforms) | Ranked #3 in the 2024 Leaderboard Standings (Total Winnings)

Abhimanyu ‘PsychoDrama’ Mittal, who finished sixth in Saturday’s Ignite and had a bunch of solid finishes last week, kept the momentum going with fourth-place finishes in both the Big Whale and the Sunday Big Slick. He racked up nearly ₹4.26 Lakhs in total winnings across those three deep runs on Adda52!

Forget the old guard; there’s a new player in town, and they’re absolutely crushing it! Mubhashir ‘Copains37’ Ahamed is a fresh face on Adda52, having just started playing in mid-September. But this player is already making waves like never before. In just 66 tournaments over the past 2.5 months, they’ve racked up over ₹18 Lakhs in profit with an unbelievable 900% ROI. The most insane part? Ahamed has booked a profit in every single tournament they’ve played. This isn’t just good luck; this is a whole new level of consistency.

And Ahamed just added another trophy to his ever-growing trophy cabinet. After dominating The Ballers last month and the Sunday Head Hunter in September, he proved his mastery again. This time, he stormed through the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions – the site’s signature 9 PM Sunday flagship, outlasting a guarantee-crushing field of 261 seasoned players (393 total entries) in a testing eight-hour and 50-minute battle. But this wasn’t just any victory. It was their first-ever Adda52 Millions title (their seventh win on Adda52!) and their biggest payday on the site: a mind-blowing ₹5.04 Lakhs! With results like these, Ahamed is cementing his place as one of Adda52`s hottest stars.

Mubashir Ahmed’s Adda52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹19.54 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹18.05 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #7

Rajneesh ‘rajneesh620’ Thakur, the mid-stakes beast ranked #2 on the annual TLB leaderboard, was also on a mission. He was riding high after winning PokerBaazi’s BOOST the night before and carried that energy into the Adda52 Millions. Thakur fought his way to the heads-up match, aiming for his first Adda52 Millions title. Although he narrowly missed the top spot, his ₹3.72 Lakhs prize was still his third-best score on Adda52.

Rajneesh Thakur

But Thakur wasn’t finished! He went on a multi-platform tear, making deep runs in eight more events, including a podium finish in PokerBaazi’s BSS Super Value. By the end of this incredible run, he had earned over ₹6.11 Lakhs!

> 2nd in Adda52 Millions for ₹3,72,190

> 12th in Adda52’s Nighttide DST Adda for ₹3,159

> 57th in PokerBaazi’s BSS for ₹2,275

The final table of Adda52 Millions was a thrilling clash of top pros and ambitious contenders. Saturday’s Freeze Out Adda winner Arun ‘ShahidKapoorAfridi’ Kumar (3rd for ₹2.75 Lakhs), three-time The Millionaire champion Rishab ‘rish1994’ Malik (4th for ₹2.03 Lakhs), Vaibhav ‘alienrobot’ Sharma (5th for ₹1.50 Lakhs), and recent Godfather and Head Shot Bounty finalist Shailesh ‘MrShailesh’ Patel (6th for ₹1.11 Lakhs) all battled fiercely for the title.

The ₹11,500 buy-in Adda52 Millions over-delivered on its promise of high-stakes excitement, smashing its guarantee by over 50% to create a staggering ₹39.30 Lakhs prize pool. The top 39 finishers shared the spoils, with even a min-cash worth a cool ₹22,330, capping off an incredible weekend for the Adda52 community!

Just when we thought the online poker scene was settling down, Anish ‘PapaNegreanu’ Arora exploded back onto the scene with a performance that had everyone talking! You might remember Arora as the player who steered Team Crushers to victory in PokerBaazi’s “Poker MasterClass” on Jio Cinema. And he’s back in the winner’s circle after a brief hiatus and not holding back.

Anish Arora
Anish Arora

Arora went missing from the winner’s circle after his last triumph in Adda52`s Voyager DPT Edition on November 2. But don’t let that fool you! This seasoned regular was sharpening his claws, racking up seven final table appearances, including a solid fifth-place finish in last week’s PokerBaazi The Summit.

And then, Sunday night happened, and Arora unleashed his fury on Adda52’s ₹22 Lakhs GTD Sunday Head Hunter. Picture this: a gruelling seven-hour and 47-minute battle against a stacked field of 443 entries (240 unique). When the smoke cleared, Arora emerged as the champion, seizing his first-ever Sunday Head Hunter title and a well-deserved ₹4.28 Lakhs (₹2.27 Lakhs in bounties) top prize – his fifth-biggest score on the platform!

But Arora didn’t stop there. Along with his flagship win, he delivered deep runs in Adda52’s Big Whale (26th for ₹25,555) and PokerBaazi`s BSS Super Value (94th for ₹8,035), wrapping up the night with a total haul of almost ₹4.62 Lakhs.

Anish Arora’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker, PokerStars India and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹4.53 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹1.07 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #11

While Arora was stealing the show, Deepak ‘Sambahadur’ Verma was hot on his heels. This Adda52 stalwart fought tooth and nail to reach the Sunday Head Hunter final table, keeping the pressure on Arora until the end. Despite finishing in second place, Verma bagged a hefty ₹2.20 Lakhs (₹72,655 in bounties) – his third-biggest score on Adda52. Verma almost pulled off a double victory, narrowly missing the top spot in the Hurricane Bounty (finishing second for ₹4,302). Still, with over ₹2.24 Lakhs in winnings for the night, he has little to complain about!

Deepak Verma’s Adda52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹32.92 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹23.80 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #37

The Sunday Head Hunter final table also featured the likes of Sameer ‘underscore’ Agarwal (7th for ₹56,374) and last week`s GG Masters Bounty Warm Up 25 champion Ram ‘mowgumotu’ Kakkar (8th for ₹25,325).

The ₹5,750 buy-in Sunday Head Hunter truly lived up to the hype, offering incredible value with a massive ₹2.41 Lakhs overlay! With the top 63 players cashing in and a minimum payout of ₹5,596, it was a night of thrilling action and big rewards.

Sunday was a day for rewriting narratives, a day when the poker gods smiled upon those who dared challenge their fate. Among these warriors was Satyam ‘9X8X8X3X6X’ Bhalla, a name that echoed through the virtual halls of Adda52. After two months of relentless pursuit, Bhalla finally seized his moment of glory, conquering the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Sunday Big Slick. This wasn’t just another victory; it was his first in this coveted tournament and his third title on Adda52 this year!

Satyam Bhalla
Satyam Bhalla

This victory was the culmination of a series of impressive performances. In September, he etched his name on The Mint trophy and narrowly missed a breakthrough in the Big Whale. A brief pause in his poker odyssey didn’t deter his spirit. November saw him return with a vengeance, reaching final tables in the Godfather and Pocket52’s Pocket Magnets. These were the stepping stones that led him to his Sunday Big Slick conquest.

The 7 PM flagship event attracted a formidable field of 430 hopefuls (249 unique), each vying for the lion’s share of the prize pool. But Bhalla was a man on a mission. He navigated the treacherous waters with finesse, battling for over seven hours to emerge as the champion, earning ₹1.57 Lakhs through a heads-up deal. He continued his onslaught with deep runs in two other Adda52 flagships, culminating in a remarkable Sunday haul of almost ₹1.92 Lakhs.

> 1st in Adda52’s Sunday Big Slick for ₹1,57,145* (heads-up deal)

> 19th in Adda52’s Sunday Head Hunter for ₹18,528

> 87th in Adda52’s Big Whale for ₹15,836

While Bhalla’s triumph was the highlight of the Sunday Big Slick, it wasn’t a one-man show. Shrey ‘kingsb30’ Baj, the renowned DPT Xpress Burn & Turn champion, gave Bhalla a run for his money, finishing as the runner-up and taking home ₹1.57 Lakhs from the deal. This was Baj’s second-best online score of the year, adding to his impressive poker resume.

Baj, whose last victory on Adda52 was in the Holdem Bash in April, added to his Sunday tally with a cash finish in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack, accumulating almost ₹1.73 Lakhs in total winnings.

> 2nd in Adda52’s Sunday Big Slick for ₹1,57,015* (heads-up deal)

> 71st in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for ₹15,890

The Sunday Big Slick final table was a constellation of familiar faces, each with their own stories of grit and determination. Recent Daily Last Chance podium finisher and Blockbuster finalist Arjun ‘arjunraghani4444’ Raghani finished third for ₹97,400, while last night’s Big Whale and Ignite finalist Abhimanyu ‘PsychoDrama’ Mittal placed fourth for ₹71,394. The list continued with recent Afternoon Bounty champ Sahil ‘turtle99’ Verma (5th for ₹52,331), Saturday’s Head Shot Bounty finalist Satyapal ‘Zoca’ (6th for ₹38,359), last night’s Adda52 Millions finalist Rishab ‘rish1994’ Malik (7th for ₹28,117), and last week’s Bounty Madness champ Tanay ‘rujula16’ Kauntia (8th for ₹20,610).

Despite falling ₹29,800 short of its guarantee, the ₹2,500 buy-in Sunday Big Slick was a lucrative affair for the 63 players who finished in the money. Even a min-cash awarded a handsome ₹5,053—double the buy-in—keeping the Sunday excitement levels soaring on Adda52.

The online poker world thrives on stories of resilience and epic comebacks, and Yash ‘NawabiKabab’ Jaiswal just wrote his own legendary chapter on the virtual felts. This mid-to-high stakes grinder, known for his dedication and consistency, took down Pocket52’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD Pocket Kings in epic fashion.

Yash Jaiswal
Yash Jaiswal

Jaiswal faced a challenging field of 200 opponents (357 total entries) in this 8 PM Sunday headliner. It was a marathon session, a test of skill and endurance. But Jaiswal was more than ready. He navigated the field with focus and precision, ultimately claiming victory and a site-best ₹4.20 Lakhs prize. This breakthrough victory didn’t just boost his bankroll; it single-handedly erased all his past losses on the platform.

What makes this win even more remarkable is the 14-month gap since his last major victory on Pocket52—the Pocket Soda in September of last year. This latest triumph is nearly ten times his previous best on the platform, a record he had set just a day earlier with a final table finish in Pocket Queens. It also marks his second-largest online score to date, a significant milestone in his online poker journey.

This win isn’t a fluke; it’s part of a larger trend for Jaiswal. Just 17 days ago, he won Junglee Poker’s Thursday Thunder, and he’s been on a roll ever since. He’s made eight final tables, including a third-place finish in last week’s The Endeavour. And just yesterday, he earned nearly ₹4.67 Lakhs from five deep runs, keeping his momentum going!

> 37th in Adda52’s Big Whale for ₹21,420

> 69th in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for ₹15,890

> 97th in PokerBaazi’s BSS Super Value for ₹5,357

> 66th in PokerBaazi’s (6-Max) BSS SPRINT for ₹4,284

Yash Jaiswal’s online stats (PokerBaazi, Adda52 and Spartan Poker): Lifetime Winnings: ₹2.60 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹72.42 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #19 | Annual Winnings: ₹1.07 Crores | Annual Profits: ₹32.88 Lakhs

Yash Jaiswal`s Pocket52 stats: Site Winnings: ₹7.26 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹1.24 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

But Jaiswal wasn`t the only star shining bright in the poker galaxy last night. Enter Young Gun Shardul ‘user1687448220’ Parthasarathi, a player whose recent achievements are etching his name into poker legend. Recently revealed as Junglee Poker’s all-time biggest winner—the enigmatic force behind ‘icehunt35703711’ who dominated the ₹1.50 Crore GTD Azadi Series Main Event in August—Parthasarathi has returned from APT Phu Quoc 2024 with renewed vigour.

Shardul Parthasarathi
Shardul Parthasarathi

He finished second in the Pocket Kings, adding a hefty ₹2.94 Lakhs to his bankroll and setting a new personal best on Pocket52. This comes just after his victory in the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo three days ago and a podium finish in Spartan Poker’s Thursday Thriller. And with deep runs in six other tournaments yesterday, his total Sunday winnings almost touched ₹4.02 Lakhs!

Parthasarathi’s top Sunday achievements include:

> 2nd in Pocket52’s Pocket Kings for ₹2,94,000

> 8th in Adda52 Millions for ₹60,683

> 11th in Spartan Poker’s Ignite for ₹20,400

Shardul Parthasarathi’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹12.58 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹3.79 Crores | Titles Won in 2024: #12 | Annual Winnings: ₹2.26 Crores | Annual Profits: ₹60.93 Lakhs

The Pocket Kings final table was replete with regulars, featuring Thursday’s Daily Last Chance finalist Aritra ‘Salazar’ Hazra (4th for ₹1.40 Lakhs), industry veteran Kapil ‘reyalp’ Arora (5th for ₹1.05 Lakhs), the recent Godfather runner-up finisher Anurag ‘CultOfPersonality’ Srivastava (7th for ₹70,000), and Kritarth ‘Pahaadi’ Pant (8th for ₹56,000).

The ₹5,750 buy-in Pocket Kings fell ₹2.15 Lakhs short of its ₹20 Lakhs guarantee, but that just meant more value for the top 20 finishers. With a min-cash worth ₹18,800 (more than three times the buy-in!), everyone who made the money walked away happy. It’s no wonder Pocket52 is becoming a favourite among serious tournament players.

Sahil ‘SlimShady19’ Chutani, the two-time IOPC Legends champion and 2022’s most profitable online MTT player, roared back to form in spectacular fashion last night. This win is a statement. It breaks a three-and-a-half-month title drought for Chutani, who hasn’t played as much lately. His last victory was back in September in Adda52’s Sunday Head Hunter. But last night, he was back to his dominant self, expertly navigating the 128-player field in the 8 PM flagship tournament to seize the ₹2.05 Lakhs top prize. This marks his fifth-best win overall and his second-best on Spartan Poker this year.

Chutani continued his rampage with three more deep runs, racking up almost ₹2.62 Lakhs in winnings and reminding everyone why he’s considered one of the most feared players in online poker.
