The excitement reached a crescendo on Sunday as PokerBaazi’s grandest National Poker Series India 2023 hosted its last seven tournaments yesterday. With the vast majority of the tournament regs busy at the fourth edition of the WPT Prime India, many Sunday flagships posted significant overlays.
In other big news, PokerStars India turns five today and has rolled out an amazing “5 Year Fiesta” promotion packed with excellent cash game and tournament offerings.
Headlining the stacked Sunday schedule was PokerBaazi`s NPS showstopper, ₹3 Crores GTD NPS#106 Main Event. The tournament drew a massive ₹5,849-player field, and 688 returned for the Day 2 finale at 9 PM. Prateek Bhartia, once a regular on the online and live Asian circuit, and an avid blogger, broke out of a long-drawn absence from the felts. He made a dramatic comeback by decimating the stiff competition to emerge as the latest NPS Main Event champion – bagging the series’ most sought-after NPS gold medal and a personal-best ₹30.91 Lakhs in prize money.
PokerBaazi user ‘back2basics’ chopped the NPS Main Event title heads-up with Bhartia, grabbing the silver medal and ₹29.08 Lakhs. Sparsh Gupta was the third seven-figure scorer in the Sunday headliner and won the bronze medal and a career-best ₹15.20 Lakhs.
Last week’s NPS#87 SPRINT champion Anirban D Das made a smashing weekend sprint, breaking into the top ranks of the NPS Series and Podium Leaderboards. After winning the NPS#99 Megadive on Saturday, Das nailed the NPS#103 Sunday Marathon for his third NPS gold medal and ₹6.47 Lakhs. He struck a three-way deal with Jimmy ‘jeeven’ Arora (2nd for ₹5.15 Lakhs) and Ridhav ‘Rids’ Chawla (3rd for ₹5.79 Lakhs).
Das added ₹7.52 Lakhs from six deep runs, finishing #3 on the NPS Series leaderboard for ₹5.25 Lakhs in Real Cash Bonus, also ranking #2 on the NPS Podium leaderboard to win a Las Vegas Package worth ₹7.50 Lakhs. The online pro collected a whopping ₹20.27 Lakhs in cash and leaderboard prizes.
Kabir Tandon pulled in a personal-best ₹10.70 Lakhs and the coveted NPS gold medal in the biggest crowd-puller at the just-concluded series, NPS#104 Golden Rush. He cashed at least four other NPS marquees, rounding out ₹12.10 Lakhs from his Sunday run. Ranking #6 on the NPS Series Leaderboard, Tandon pocketed an additional ₹1.80 Lakhs in RCB. The user ‘TatmaG‘ (2nd for ₹7.52 Lakhs) and ‘chiranjit1007′ (3rd for ₹4.98 Lakhs) secured the silver and bronze medals and career-best scores on the podium.
Bharat Vasan collected his fourth title of the month in Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack, succeeding after firing three bullets to collect the top prize of ₹6.35 Lakhs. Thursday’s The Colosseum champion Saurabh Rohila finished runner-up for ₹4.27 Lakhs (won ₹4.60 Lakhs overall).
Wednesday’s Destiny 26.0 winner Mohit Mehta nailed Adda52 Millions for ₹5.60 Lakhs, adding to a Sunday scorecard of ₹6.79 Lakhs. The in-form Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra kept his scorecard ticking by pocketing ₹3.36 Lakhs in second place (won ₹5.41 Lakhs overall).
Mayank Maruka pulled in an impressive ₹5.20 Lakhs from six deep runs last night, including a victory run in Adda52’s Mega Suits. He chopped the Sunday tournament heads-up for a top prize of ₹4.18 Lakhs, with the Armageddon third-place finisher Sahil Mahboobani pocketing ₹4.02 Lakhs in second place (won ₹5.54 Lakhs overall).
Pradip Ghosh, currently attending WPT Prime India in Goa, bagged away ₹3.88 Lakhs from three deep runs. He won his second NPS gold medal in NPS#102 Slamdunk, banking the top prize of ₹3.55 Lakhs. Hardik Nair (2nd for ₹2.16 Lakhs) (won ₹4.99 Lakhs overall) and ‘amandeep11’ (3rd for ₹1.73 Lakhs) won the silver and bronze medals.
The Game Changer 4.0 champion JaiKiran Kumar took down Spartan Poker’s Armageddon for ₹2.31 Lakhs (won ₹3.03 Lakhs overall), following a heads-up deal with Raghav Ananth (2nd for ₹2 Lakhs).
After Anirban D Das, Areyann Gurbaxani and Abdul Aziz, Vikram Mishra became the fourth player to win three NPS gold medals in the just-concluded NPS India 2023, charging his way to the top of the NPS Podium leaderboard to win a Las Vegas package worth ₹10 Lakhs. Mishra captured his third gold in NPS#105 Sunday Smash for ₹2.19 Lakhs (won ₹2.43 Lakhs overall), striking a heads-up deal with the PLO Daily champion Rahul Sengar (2nd for ₹2.26 Lakhs).
Mukesh Surana (Won NPS#107 Afterparty Marathon for ₹2.26 Lakhs) and Jayjit Ray (Won NPS#101 (PLO-6) Marathon for ₹1.01 Lakhs) won the other NPS gold medals on the last day of the series.
Ashwin Vijay championed Spartan Poker’s Deepstack Turbo for ₹3.03 Lakhs (won ₹3.30 Lakhs overall), with the Battlezone champion, Karan Kapur, finishing runner-up for ₹2.37 Lakhs (won ₹3.56 Lakhs overall).
The user ‘ShaktiMaaan’ shipped PokerStars India`s Sunday Special [8-Max, PKO] for ₹2.90 Lakhs. Pavankiran Bellamkonda came second for ₹1.32 (won ₹2.84 Lakhs overall)!

The biggest-ever National Poker Series India 2023 is in the books! And winning the massive ₹3 Crores GTD NPS#106 Main Event title was Prateek ‘Imperative’ Bhartia, who hit a career-defining milestone on Sunday. The old-timer, who had practically fallen off the radar these last few years, came storming back into the spotlight by clinching the most coveted gold medal of the series and a jaw-dropping ₹30.91 Lakhs in first-place prize money.
The NPS showstopper ran eight qualifying flights, registering a 5,849-strong field, and 688 players converged for the Day 2 finale at 9 PM last night. It took seven hours for Bhartiya to cross the finish line, and he did so after striking a heads-up deal with the user ‘back2basics,’ who bagged away the silver medal and an equally hefty ₹29.08 Lakhs as the runner-up!
Chasing his first online title, the #BB8 EndBoss sixth-place finisher from May last year, Sparsh ‘sparsh1231’ Gupta, walked away with the bronze medal and a career-best ₹15.20 Lakhs.

The National Poker Series India 2023 played down to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, with the last seven tournaments naming champions and formalizing the leaderboard standings.
After an intense competition, Avneesh ‘iamam’ Munjal (18,516 points), who won the NPS#69 Deepdive last Monday, emerged as the NPS Series champion to win ₹10 Lakhs in Real Cash Bonus. Munjal’s exceptional performance included 88 in the money scores, with a gold and silver medal each.
