Headlining the Sunday action was the fourth marquee event at the IOPC, the ₹1.75 Crore GTD IOPC#92 Legends. The ₹27,500-entry buy-in event played down to its six-player final table last night, with Amit Suresh Gehani grabbing the chip lead. The six-handed final table commences at 5 PM.

The anonymous user received ₹4 Lakhs for their runner-up finish.

Sahil Chutani shipped Adda52’s NPS Main Event for ₹5.52 Lakhs while Rising Star Ritwik Khanna won PokerBaazi’s BSS#4 SuperStack for ₹3.65 Lakhs.

Aditya Singh took down PokerStars India’s Sunday Special Progressive KO for ₹2.20 Lakhs.

PokerStars India

The overlay storm continues to blow over PokerStars India’s Sunday flagships. The ₹15 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special Progressive KO registered 256 runners on its latest run, overlaying ₹2.20 Lakhs. Last week’s Maverick winner, Aditya ‘ukid767’ Singh, was the last player standing and won ₹2.61 Lakhs (his fourth title this month). ‘Rjnshpl’ placed second for ₹2.05 Lakhs.

The ₹12 Lakhs GTD Sunday Highroller was also hit by the overlay express, but not as hard as the Sunday Special. The ₹11,000 entry buy-in event clocked in 118 entries, falling just two entries short of its 120-player guarantee. The user ‘him_070793’ shipped the event for ₹2.63 Lakhs, and PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal ‘Vishalb22’ Bajaj finished runner-up for ₹2.02 Lakhs (the third PokerGuru Ambassador to book a runner-up finish last night).

Adda52

The ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions was the star attraction of the site’s Sunday roster. The event registered 242 entrants, falling eight entries short of its 250-player guarantee. For the most part, the event played out as it usually does, but it was during the heads-up between poker vlogger Jaideep ‘nawjas’ Sajwan and ‘MallaNi’ (2nd for ₹4 Lakhs) that things got interesting. The anonymous user was facing internet connectivity issues on the FT, and during the heads-up, they once again got disconnected. In the spirit of true sportsmanship, Sajwan chose to sit out and wait for his opponent to connect back instead of stealing the blinds.

Jaideep Sajwan
Jaideep Sajwan

While it wasn’t the most tried and tested road to victory, it’s a win nonetheless for Jaideep Sajwan as he took home ₹6.86 Lakhs in prize money. The win comes nearly six months after Sajwan’s runner-up finish in Adda52’s Mega Suits.

Speaking with us earlier today, Jaideep Sajwan shared his views on the incident. “My opponent had disconnected for a short time once we were 4-5 handed, and then once we got down to HU, he had a 4:1 chip lead. I brought it to even, and then he won a huge pot calling down a bluff to have me cornered again. Then out of the blue, he disconnected. I had another table running, so I just sat out waiting for him to come back.”

“I ended up waiting for more than an hour and then just figured the better way would be to sort this later,” he added.

“I already contacted my Adda(52) relationship manager, and a process will be initiated if he wants to reveal his identity to me so that I can compensate him for his issue. I just hope he is fine and it was just an internet issue. I was recording my deep runs today, and this has become more content than what I was looking for.”

The Nano Poker Series (NPS) also wrapped up proceedings last night. The series showstopper, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD NPS Main Event, was championed by Young Gun Sahil ‘bluffme19’ Chutani for ₹5.52 Lakhs. Well-known reg Anurag ‘NormanBates’ Srivastava placed runner-up for ₹3.25 Lakhs.

This was Abhimanyu Mittal’s best-recorded finish on Adda52. The NPS Main Event fourth-place finisher ‘happyfish’ (anonymity requested) captured the runner-up spot for ₹2.06 Lakhs.
