This past weekend was a poker explosion! While the live scene was buzzing with excitement as the Deccan Aces made history by winning the Pocket52 Poker Sports League (PSL) Season 6 in Goa to become the first-ever two-time PSL champions, the online action was just as electrifying. Indian players are also making waves at the 2024 U Series of Poker (USOP) in Hai Phong, but the digital felt was burning back home.

Varun Sareen was the undisputed king of the weekend. He etched his name in poker history by becoming only the second player ever to win The MoneyMaker title back-to-back on PokerBaazi. Fresh off his amazing Super Sunday victory in The MoneyMaker 83.0 and 1000X#37 (7-Max) last week, Sareen continued his red-hot streak by taking down the ₹1 Crore GTD The MoneyMaker 84.0. He walked away with the bracelet and a jaw-dropping ₹10 Lakhs – his second million-rupee win in just one week!

But Sareen wasn’t the only one making headlines. Rahul Melwani, a seasoned poker veteran, turned a small ₹2,070 investment (from two ₹690 buy-in satellites) into a mind-blowing ₹10 Lakhs prize as The MoneyMaker runner, thanks to PokerBaazi’s adjusted payouts. That’s an insane 483X return on investment! This was his second-biggest career win, pushing his total winnings on PokerBaazi over the ₹2 Crore mark.

Tarush Gupta stormed back into the spotlight by winning Adda52’s The Big Whale. He bagged a whopping ₹8.85 Lakhs, his second-highest online score ever, and ended his Sunday with ₹9.15 Lakhs in total winnings. Sanket Jain, known for his runner-up finish in the AOPS Main Event back in 2020, also had a great night, coming in second in The Big Whale and earning ₹6.42 Lakhs. His total Sunday winnings were ₹6.53 Lakhs.

We also saw some epic comebacks this weekend. ‘Balanar,’ who hadn’t won a title in years, roared back to life by taking down PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack. This was their first-ever title on PokerBaazi, and they walked away with a scorching ₹8.58 Lakhs after a heads-up deal. Poker streamer Aniruddha Joshi kept his recent hot streak going, finishing as the runner-up and earning a career-best ₹7.26 Lakhs from the deal. His total Sunday earnings were an impressive ₹7.51 Lakhs.

Over on Adda52, Amit Kaushik, a pro player from the Pocket52 PSL Season 6 runner-up team, Kolkata Wizards, didn’t waste any time celebrating. He went on to win his second Adda52 Millions title, earning ₹4.89 Lakhs. He also had four other deep runs, bringing his Sunday tally to ₹5.77 Lakhs. Karan Sitlani, known as the ‘High Roller Specialist,’ also had a great performance, finishing a close second in the Adda52 Millions with ₹3.62 Lakhs and racking up a total of ₹5.24 Lakhs for the day.

On Natural8 India, India’s newest WSOP bracelet champion, Tarun Goyal, continued his impressive run. Chasing his second online bracelet, he finished 44th in WSOP Online Event #21, adding ₹4.73 Lakhs to his annual haul, which now stands at ₹4.06 Crores. Goyal is hot on the heels of Neel Joshi in the Player of the Year race.

Meanwhile, newcomer Mubashir Ahamed Adeepat won Adda52’s Sunday Head Hunter in just his seventh tournament on the platform, taking home ₹4.13 Lakhs. Mohit Mehta finished second, earning ₹2.30 Lakhs, and also had a runner-up finish in Natural8 India’s Sunday Hypersonic 15 for ₹1.44 Lakhs, bringing his Sunday haul to at least ₹3.74 Lakhs from these near misses.

PokerBaazi’s BSS Big Bounty KO saw Amit Gehani break his eight-week title-less streak, winning the tournament for ₹3.55 Lakhs. This was his fifth PokerBaazi flagship title this year, and he amassed a total of ₹3.85 Lakhs from two other deep runs. JaiKiran Kumar also had a strong showing, finishing second for ₹2.48 Lakhs and racking up a total of ₹4.57 Lakhs from six deep runs.

PokerBaazi also saw other notable winners, including Rajneesh Thakur (Won (6-Max) BSS SPRINT for ₹1.84 Lakhs), ‘Ayemi1122’ (Won Daily Last Chance for ₹1.77 Lakhs), and ‘Champ1987’ (Won BSS Kickoff for ₹99,000).

On Junglee Poker, ‘leleji’ won the Sunday Special KO, pocketing ₹2.93 Lakhs. ‘baton34769023‘ continued their good form from last month’s Azadi Series Mini Main Event victory, finishing as the runner-up and taking home ₹2.66 Lakhs.

Young Gun Neel Joshi, the current pace-setter in the Player of the Year race, continued his dominance with a 175th place finish in Natural8 India’s Bounty Hunters HR Main Event 525 for ₹2.66 Lakhs. His annual haul has now reached a record-breaking ₹5.82 Crores, putting him far ahead of his competitors.

On Pocket52, ‘Kingthinosc’ emerged as the Pocket Kings champion, earning a personal-best ₹1.71 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s 10th Anniversary celebrations are in full swing, and the action is hotter than ever! The Sunday events were a testament to the platform’s commitment to delivering high-stakes thrills and life-changing payouts, and one player, in particular, stole the show: Varun ‘Sareenv17021959’ Sareen.

This seasoned high-stakes maestro has been unstoppable lately, and his recent performance is the stuff of legends. Fresh off a stunning Super Sunday victory in The MoneyMaker 83.0 and 1000X#37 (7-Max) last week, Sareen again etched his name in PokerBaazi’s history books. He’s not just a winner; he’s now a trailblazer, becoming only the second player after Aditya Sushant to win The MoneyMaker title – India’s longest-running single-flight ₹1 Crore GTD tournament – back-to-back!

Sareen is no stranger to the winner’s circle. He already boasts major wins this year, including the NPS#134 Super HighRoller gold from March and the IPM#108 (PLO-6) HighRoller crown in August. But last night, he turned the poker tables into his playground AGAIN.

In what can only be described as a 9.5-hour marathon of skill and endurance, Sareen blitzed through a formidable assembly of 493 players (842 total entries) in the prestigious ₹1 Crore GTD The MoneyMaker 84.0. His victory in the Sunday 6 PM showstopper was nothing short of legendary, landing him a jaw-dropping ₹10 Lakhs—his second million-rupee score within a week.

Varun Sareen’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹79.46 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹62.94 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #5 | Annual Winnings: ₹78.38 Lakhs | Annual Profits: ₹60.75 Lakhs

Hot on Sareen’s heels was the seasoned pro Rahul ‘slowroller’ Melwani. This “old-timer” in the Indian poker scene came tantalizingly close to snatching The MoneyMaker crown for the second time this year (his third time making the final table), ultimately finishing in second place. Despite missing the top spot, his performance earned him the same ₹10 Lakhs payday—his second-best career score, thanks to The MoneyMaker equal prize distribution to the top two as part of the ongoing anniversary celebrations!

Not only did Melwani share the bragging rights as Sunday’s top scorer with Sareen, but he also achieved a significant personal milestone with this runner-up finish, crossing the ₹2 Crore total winnings mark on PokerBaazi.

But here’s the real kicker: Melwani turned a modest ₹2,070 investment (through two ₹690 buy-in satellites) into a massive ₹10 Lakhs payday, achieving a mind-blowing 483X return on investment (ROI)! His mastery in turning modest buy-ins into massive payouts again highlights why Melwani remains a force to be reckoned with in high-stakes online tournaments – something he has proved spectacularly this year!

Rahul Melwani’s online stats (PokerBaazi, Adda52 and Spartan Poker): Lifetime Winnings: ₹2.58 Crores | Lifetime Profits: ₹41.83 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #2

PokerBaazi loyalist Uttam ‘brokenpocker’ Gope also had a night to remember, raking in a stunning ₹8.63 Lakhs in Sunday winnings across five deep runs. This marked Gope’s best performance to date, with two standout third-place finishes and another final-table appearance. It’s safe to say that Gope is a name we’ll be hearing a lot more of in the future.

The final table of The MoneyMaker 84.0 was a battlefield of elite talent and emerging stars. Last Wednesday’s The Pride Lite champion Raghav ‘scambrahm’ Ananth (5th for ₹4.96 Lakhs), Vinay ‘vinay09’ Rajpal (6th for ₹3.96 Lakhs), Akash ‘UtgWithUrMOM’ Malik (7th for ₹3.04 Lakhs) and Prateek ‘Dontbluff’ Pandey (8th for ₹2.13 Lakhs) were all in the mix, making for an electrifying finale.

With a ₹10,000 buy-in, The MoneyMaker 84.0 fell short of its ₹1 Crore guarantee by a glaring ₹15.80 Lakhs. But this overlay only meant massive value for the top 144 finishers, who all pocketed at least ₹24,000. It was a thrilling Sunday for many and a testament to PokerBaazi’s commitment to delivering the best value to its players.

It was a crazy Sunday on PokerBaazi as players battled it out for big bucks in the ₹60 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack. And in a story that’s sure to inspire grinders everywhere, PokerBaazi veteran ‘Balanar’ finally broke their title drought after years of hard work and near misses!

‘Balanar’ has been a familiar face on PokerBaazi for four long years, but that elusive title had always remained just out of reach. Their runner-up finish in the BSS HighRoller in April was a painful reminder of how close they’d come. But last night, everything changed.

The battle lines were drawn with the 7:30 PM Sunday flagship tournament logging in a stacked field of 641 players (1,021 total entries). ‘Balanar’ wasn’t intimidated. They dug in their heels and battled it out for a gruelling 8.5 hours, navigating the ups and downs of tournament poker with exceptional skill. And when the dust settled, they stood victorious, claiming their first-ever title on PokerBaazi and a life-changing ₹8.58 Lakhs top prize after a thrilling heads-up deal. This wasn’t just a victory but a testament to their perseverance and a sweet reward for years of dedication to the game.

Balanar’s PokerBaazi stats: Site Winnings: ₹36.04 Lakhs | Site Profits: ₹12.46 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

But ‘Balanar’ wasn’t the only one making headlines on Sunday night. Aniruddha ‘PocketacesAJ’ Joshi, fresh off his runner-up finish in The Ballers and another solid final table showing in Blockbuster, continued his hot streak with another runner-up performance in the BSS SuperStack. This charismatic poker streamer and content creator bagged a whopping ₹7.26 Lakhs from the deal after firing two bullets, his biggest online score yet! And with a deep run in Adda52’s Sunday Head Hunter (23rd for ₹24,311), Joshi’s total Sunday winnings reached a staggering ₹7.51 Lakhs – his best single-day performance ever.

The BSS SuperStack might not have hit its ambitious ₹60 Lakhs guarantee, but don’t let that fool you! With a ₹6,000 buy-in, this tournament was still a value-packed powerhouse that had players buzzing. A whopping 142 finishers got a piece of the pie, each walking away with at least ₹10,800! Amit ‘kavipri’ Gehani, the banker-turned-poker virtuoso with a taste for the high life, has added another trophy to his ever-growing collection. After an eight-week title-less streak since his Spartan Poker Mega Stack win in July, he came back strong last night and took down PokerBaazi’s ₹18 Lakhs GTD BSS Big Bounty KO. He was clearly fired up after his solid fourth-place finish in PokerBaazi’s Daily Last Chance last Tuesday, and this time, he went all the way.

With its ten starting flights, Junglee Poker’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD Money Multiplier was a thrilling experience from start to finish. Last week, 873 players battled it out in a high-stakes competition of the starting heats, hoping to make it to the finale. The 11 PM Sunday finale was electric. The tension was palpable as the blinds went up and the chips flew. And after 3.5 hours of intense play, ‘iguess..d’ emerged as the champion.

‘iguess..d’ is no stranger to success, having previously finished as runner-up in the AS#24 Tuesday Phoenix. They came into the finale ready to win, and their aggressive playstyle paid off. They navigated a challenging field and claimed the massive ₹8.99 Lakhs top prize.

The mysterious player ‘weapon42692141’ also put up an intense fight, finishing in second place and earning a well-deserved ₹5.50 Lakhs.

Vinay ‘CharleSCorreA’ B, who had recently won the Tuesday Phoenix and made the final table in PokerBaazi’s The Endeavour, was also in the mix. He was also busy at the Pocket52 PSL Season 6 Finale, working hard to get points for his team, Lucknow Kings. He simultaneously tacked the Money Multiplier finale, fighting his way to a third-place finish and taking home a respectable ₹4 Lakhs.

Junglee Poker’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special Knockout was an absolute thriller last night! Three hundred twenty players showed up for this 7:30 PM flagship, and it was a fight to the finish.

‘leleji’ came out on top after a gruelling 8.5 hours, a mystery player who last hit our radar with a podium finish in the AS#40 Friday Fighter last month. They walked away with a massive ₹2.93 Lakhs, and a considerable chunk of that – ₹1.32 Lakhs – was from bounties! They played their hearts out, leaving with a pocket full of cash.

‘baton34769023’ also put up an amazing fight. They’d already won the Azadi Series Mini Main Event last month and weren’t slowing down. Even though they had to re-enter once, they still managed to snag second place and ₹2.66 Lakhs (₹1.07 Lakhs in bounties).

Sreeharsha ‘DonkeyCommitted’ Boneni had his game face on last night. He’d just won PokerBaazi’s Daily Super Value and made back-to-back final-table appearances in Junglee Poker’s Thursday Thunder and Adda52’s Godfather Lite last week, so he was riding high on form. He finished third in the Sunday Special Knockout, taking home ₹1.36 Lakhs (with ₹19,766 in bounties).

Sreeharsha Boneni

But Boneni wasn’t done yet. He was also deep in the Sunday Special Knockout Mini and almost won that one too! Again firing two entries, he finished as the runner-up, which got him another ₹77,687 (including ₹12,773 in bounties) just 15 minutes after his Sunday Special Knockout podium exit. All in all, Boneni had an incredible Sunday, raking in a total of ₹2.51 Lakhs!

> 3rd in Junglee Poker’s Sunday Special Knockout for ₹1,36,286* (₹19,766 in bounties)

The Sunday Special Knockout final table saw some familiar faces in action, including Money Multiplier finalist NaveenKumar ‘happyhunter’ S, who finished fifth, earning ₹81,225. Joining him was last week’s WTF finalist, Yash ‘Reeraiser21’ Chitre, who placed eighth for ₹55,004.

The Sunday Special Knockout, with its ₹5,750 buy-in, came in shy of hitting its guarantee, recording an unexpected ₹4 Lakhs overlay. This shortfall was a bonus for the players, giving them a chance at even more value. The top 34 players got a share of that sweet ₹20 Lakhs prize pool, so it was a profitable night for everyone who cashed in.

Gupta has been on a red-hot streak over the past week, particularly on PokerBaazi. His phenomenal run includes a final table finish in the 1000X#40 Main Event last Sunday, fourth place in The EndeavourLite on Tuesday, another final table showing in The Quest on Friday, and a third-place finish in Blockbuster.
