Steve O’Dwyer Claims 3rd EPT Title As He Wins EPT 12 Malta Single-Day High Roller for €327,030

Steve O’Dwyer (cover image) won the EPT €10,000 Single-Day High Roller for €327,030, adding a 3^rd EPT title to his portfolio, which already includes EPT Grand Final and EPT Super High Roller titles. O’Dwyer announced the win by tweeting an emoticon of a flexed arm and saying “I have 100% of the chips in play in the 1 day HR at #eptmalt.,“

99 players paid out the hefty €10,000 buy-in creating a prize pool of €1,299,800 and finally only 17 made the money.

There were several big names in the event and some of those who did not make it included Dzmitry Urbanovich, John Juanda, Mike McDonald, Johnny Lodden, Ole Schemion, Mustapha Kanit, Scott Seiver, Shaun Deeb and Dominik Panka.

Dan Smith was the bubble boy, with Mukul Pahuja and Rainer Kempe just making it to the money.

O’Dwyer took the lead when just 7 players were left, but faced stiff competition from Ilari Sahamies for domination. However, O’Dwyer stuck to a consistent game, with all the right moves and his patience was rewarded at the crucial final hand.

The Irish player saw his receive an eight on the flop to overcome Sahamies’ and was declared the champion!
