After an action-packed fortnight in Vietnam where Team India netted an impressive 23 scores at the 2019 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam, we’re back to the exciting humdrum of the various Sunday tournaments that were hosted across the top poker sites this past Sunday!
Abhinav Iyer has been busy a busy campaigner both on the live and virtual felts. While the past week saw him taking down the 2019 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam Main Event (₹69.51 Lakhs), he seems to be putting his spare time to good use by putting in the hours for his online grind. The Young Gun clearly seems to be on a ‘hot’ run as only days after taking down the APT Main Event, he also shipped PokerBaazi’ Baazi SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD. Playing under the moniker ‘griezmann’ on the site, Iyer defeated Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo (₹3.65 Lakhs) heads-up to bank ₹5.04 Lakhs.
The other big Sunday sweats were seen at PokerStars India and MadOverPoker (MOP). Online regular Pranav Bang aka ‘dak0o’ dominated the Sunday Special KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India, outlasting a robust field of 227 entries (142 unique and 85 re-entries) to win ₹3.17 Lakhs in prize money.
Team PokerGuru ambassadors were equally active and dominant across the headline Sunday tournaments, and while Jayjit ‘england’ Ray made it to the final table in the Baazi SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD (4th for ₹1.99 Lakhs), Laksh‘B00MTilt23’ Pal Singh final tabled another event, i.e. the Sunday Special KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD (6th for ₹79,753) on PokerStars India.
Across the other routine Sunday events on PokerBaazi, we saw ‘Dkricks01’ (BSS PLO 5 Lakhs GTD (RE) – ₹1.52 Lakhs), Bunty ‘3streakbluff’ Choudhary (BSS Megastack ₹5 Lakhs GTD -₹1.28 Lakhs) and ‘ProPhecY’ (Sunday ₹1 Lakhs GTD – ₹18,219) winning the top honors.

The event’s increased guarantee with a lower buy-in ensured great value to players and with a juicy ₹2 Lakhs overlay, this was one of the best value tournaments last Sunday. Mahipalsinh ‘zti3978’ Vala played his way to the top in the event after outlasting a field of 300 runners to win the ₹1.82 Lakhs first-place prize money.
