The tournament had gathered 486 entries across three starting flights, resulting in a shortfall of ₹1.40 Lakhs. Out of the 96 qualifiers who made it to Day 2, only 84 got paid. It all came to an end with the former Millionaire champion Anujkumar’ aatman108’ Kodam cutting his way through the reg-infested field to emerge as the first-ever FMS Main Event champion. Sagar ‘strangeplay’ Choudhury (runner-up for ₹5.65 Lakhs), Avadh’ cateyes’ Shah (4th for ₹5.28 Lakhs), and PokerGuru Ambassadors Parikshit’ zapdos1311’ Dhall (7th for ₹1.45 Lakhs) and Ratul’ Atriohm’ Steves (8th for ₹99,100) were others who FT-ed the tourney! Kodam added a handsome score of ₹6.65 Lakhs to his bankroll, taking his recorded online winnings tally to ₹1.01 Crores.
PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja has been in sublime form throughout 2020, as the lawyer-turned-poker pro has remained in the top 10 on the yearly leaderboard since February. He is presently ranked #8 with ₹1.61 Crores in annual winnings. Ahuja collected yet another title yesterday after he shipped Spartan Poker’s weekly flagship tourney, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday SuperStack, for ₹7.40 Lakhs, after besting former MoneyMaker champion Sandeep ‘SandeeSingh’ Singh (runner-up for ₹4.66 Lakhs) heads-up. The tourney registered 767 entries, collecting a guarantee-smashing prize pool of ₹38.35 Lakhs.
The ₹8 Lakhs GTD Big Daddy had a successful run as well, as it generated a prize pool worth ₹8.26 Lakhs on the back of a 413-strong entry field. Anonymous user ‘Fishbone’ won the event for ₹1.65 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with ‘sandtiger,’ who finished runner-up for ₹1.10 Lakhs.
Adda52
There are still two weeks left for the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) to wrap up, and the site has been pulling out all the stops. This Sunday, one of the site’s flashiest tourneys, the ₹1 Crore GTD AOPS Full House Finale, completed another edition. After locking in 1,971 entries through six starting flights, the event faltered on the offered guarantee with an overlay of ₹1.45 Lakhs. Adda52 regular Anurag ‘Sangahi’ Sangahi decimated the competition, including defeating Abhishek ‘chicky’ Tibrewala heads-up to clinch the title and a whopping ₹21 Lakhs top prize. Nishant ‘DoJingBULLETS’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹5.09 Lakhs) and Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla (3rd for ₹5.06 Lakhs) were the other two regs who secured podium finishes.
The ₹15 Lakhs GTD AOPS Big Slick garnered 793 entries and created a ₹19.82 Lakhs prize pool. Young Gun Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal topped the field to win ₹4.46 Lakhs, while Anish ‘kidpoker113’ Suri came in second for ₹2.39 Lakhs.
Aniket ‘WhiteRabbit’ Sharma was the last player standing in the ₹6 Lakhs GTD AOPS Moonlight and received ₹1.66 Lakhs in prize money.
PokerBaazi
The Sunday marquee event on PokerBaazi, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack, drew in 523 contenders, collecting a commendable ₹26.15 Lakhs in the prize pool. Online regular Nishaanth ‘shanni’ Shanmughasundaram locked horns with Kamal ‘Identity’ Naruka for the top honors. In the end, it was the former who claimed the title and the top prize of ₹5.08 Lakhs. Naruka settled for a second-place payout of ₹3.56 Lakhs.
The ₹6 Lakhs GTD Grinders Main Event and the ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6-Max were the other two signature Sunday events on PokerBaazi. Both the tourneys were able to surpass their advertised guarantees with the Grinders Main Event generating a ₹6.62 Lakhs prize pool through 441 entries and the BSS Monster 6-Max posting a ₹5.63 Lakhs prize pool via 225 entries.
Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma bested former BPT Champion Gautam ‘BEATTHEFISH’ Sachdeva (runner-up for ₹93,205) in the heads-up play of the Grinders Main Event, pocketing ₹1.32 Lakhs for his win. Meanwhile, Nehal ‘dybalamask’ Kumar Agarwal outlasted Himanshu ‘ISquirtBullets’ Dewan in the final showdown of the BSS Monster 6-Max, netting the first-place prize money of ₹1.32 Lakhs. Dewan took home ₹92,869 for placing second.
PokerStars India
As per the usual, PokerStars India hosted two ₹20 Lakhs GTD tourneys yesterday, namely the Sunday Highroller and the Sunday Special – Progressive KO. Featuring an ₹11,000 buy-in, the Sunday Highroller was the costliest event on the site, and with a sub-par turnout of 157 entries, the event was hit by a massive overlay of ₹4.3 Lakhs. MTT crusher Sahil ‘inaboobham’ Mahboobani, who had championed this event last Sunday, trounced the field once again last night and walked away with ₹4.04 Lakhs in prize money. Mahboobani is presently placed #16 on the monthly leaderboard with a profit of ₹13.29 Lakhs.
The Sunday Special – Progressive KO also had a tough time meeting its listed guarantee. Even after bringing in 348 participants, the tourney still fell short by ₹2.60 Lakhs. Amar ‘AceConsultant’ Mehta fired two bullets before capturing the title, along with a winner’s payday of ₹3.42 Lakhs.
The MICRO KO series that had commenced on June 14 concluded yesterday. The MICRO KO Main Event, promising a ₹15 Lakhs GTD, registered 743 entries and fell seven entries short of its advertised guarantee. Akshay ‘Sweetdurr’ Kapoor took down the event to win a personal-best ₹2.13 Lakhs, after a three-way deal with ‘pokienuts92’ (runner-up for ₹1.20 Lakhs) and ‘corbin999’ (3rd for ₹96,902).
Last but not least, PokerStars India’s MICRO KO Final Warm-up saw Suresh ‘Wabi-$abi’ Kolli emerge victorious among a field of 357 entries.
