It turned out to be a power-packed Sunday thanks in part to Spartan Poker’s 1.75 Crores GTD IOPC#73 Millionaire Legends that played down to its six-handed final table last night. And making the FT were not one but two PokerGuru Ambassadors, including Kartik Ved (5,292,102), who bagged the end of the day chip lead. Not far behind him is the two-time Millionaire champion Vishal Tulsyan (4,951,532) and fellow Team Ambassador Ashish Munot (3,352,297). Munot also finished runner-up in Adda52’s DeepStack Madness for 3 Lakhs. Aniket Waghmare (3,037,964), Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal (2,022,919), and Nagendra Vadlamani (593,186) cap off the Millionaire Legends FT lineup. All six players will return at 6 PM today, January 25, to play down to a champion. Don`t forget to watch the FT live stream on our Facebook page!

Team PokerGuru has done phenomenally well over the past few weeks. While Ved and Munot are both top contenders for the coveted IOPC Millionaire Legends title, their teammates Arjanveer Singh Chadha, Ashish Ahuja, and Ratul Steves recorded two FT finishes each last night.

The other mega tournament that wrapped up its final starting flight was PokerBaazi’s 2 Crores GTD APT Main Event. A total of 240 runners made it through to Day 2, from a starting field of 1,932 entries. Day 2 starts at 6:30 PM on January 26.

Moving on to the day`s big winners, the single-biggest score on Sunday was recorded in Spartan Poker’s 60 Lakhs GTD IOPC#71 Sunday Superstack. Venkata Suman Kudithipudi championed the tourney to win a hefty 9.64 Lakhs, while Amarjeet Singh banked an equally commendable second-place payout worth 7.33 Lakhs.

PokerStars India’s 2.5 Crores GTD Winter Series came to a thundering close last night, with well-known reg Jai Saha taking down the 40 Lakhs GTD Main Event title for 6.89 Lakhs.

Bringing in much-needed diversity into last night’s list of podium finishers was Niharika Bindra, who clinched her career-first APT title in the 30 Lakhs GTD APT#43 Sunday Majors for 6.54 Lakhs. Sandy Lamba placed runner-up for 4.58 Lakhs.

The former IOPC Millionaire champion, Anurag Srivastava, was one of the breakout winners of the day. Not only did Srivastava champion Spartan Poker’s 13 Lakhs GTD IOPC#72 for 2.85 Lakhs, but he final tabled two more events (Adda52’s Big Slick & PokerStars India’s Winter Series – 51 Sunday Highroller SE), raking in over 6 Lakhs in total earnings.

Making his second runner-up finish in less than a week, old-timer Romit Advani banked 4 Lakhs in the Adda52 Millions. Vishal Kumar was the last player standing in the tourney and won 6.86 Lakhs.

Let’s take a closer look at the Sunday highlights!

Spartan Poker

It was a smashing weekend on Spartan Poker, with the second of The Millionaire editions at the ongoing IOPC series taking off. Starting with Day 1A on Saturday, the ₹1.75 Crores GTD IOPC#73 Millionaire Legends played out three starting flights to draw 770 entries. The event successfully crushed its guarantee to generate a colossal ₹1.92 Crore in prize money. Only 115 qualifying stacks (Day 1A – 39, Day 1B – 27, Day 1C – 49), including 95 unique players, could make it to Day 2 that began at 10 PM on Sunday.

Day 2 played down to the six-handed final table, and the tourney was paused at the start of Level 20. Bagging the overnight chip lead was PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved (5,292,102). Ved, who has over ₹4.68 Crore in recorded MTT scores, had last won The Summit on January 14 for ₹4.09 Lakhs. Ved will be the hot favorite to win the prized Millionaire title and the ₹36.36 Lakhs up-top when the live-streamed final table begins at 6 PM today.
