A fire-cracking Sunday saw India crown its biggest Millionaire champion to date in Anurag ‘Norman Bates’ Srivastava (cover image)! The MTT specialist who features quite frequently in our Daily Majors and Sunday Online Railbird Report was the biggest winner on the virtual felts last night and that too by a considerable margin. In addition to winning the most prominent event last night, the IOPC #98 The Millionaire Main Event ₹3 Crores GTD, for a whopping ₹60.34 Lakhs, he also championed Adda52’s AOPS Millions for ₹8.92 Lakhs, taking his overall winnings for the day to ₹69.26 Lakhs!

The Millionaire Main Event that featured eight starting flights garnered a massive player pool of 3,489 entries (Day 1A – 606, Day 1B – 344, Day 1C – 351, Day 1D – 368, Day 1E – 380, Day 1F – 429, Day 1G – 388 and Day 1H – 623) between them, obliterating the advertised guarantee to reach a prize pool of ₹3.49 Crores. This is the second-largest prize pool collected by an online tournament in the country, with PokerBaazi’s The Game Changer 1.0 still holding the record of posting a ₹3.7 Crores prize pool on the back of a 3,777-entry field back in February 2019.

Only 471 runners made it to Day 2, with several players carrying multiple stacks. The ultimate champion, Srivastava, not only banked a life-altering ₹59.33 Lakhs for winning the event but also picked up three more scores, finishing 126th for ₹41,880, 150th for ₹38,390 and 332nd for ₹20,940, taking his total winnings in the event to ₹60.34 Lakhs!

Adding to this spectacular win was Srivastava’s run in Adda52’s AOPS Millions. Topping a field of 357 entrants (202 unique and 155 re-entries), that resulted in a ₹35.70 Lakhs prize pool, the online phenom emerged victorious after besting ‘Aarchit’ (runner-up for ₹5.40 Lakhs) heads-up and took home another lumpsum amount of ₹8.92 Lakhs in prize money.

Moreover, Srivastava also final tabled PokerStars India’s Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD (runner-up for ₹35,584) and PokerBaazi’s PMVS #20 BSS MegaStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD (5th for ₹18,690).

PokerGuru caught up with the ‘man of the moment’ and talking about his spectacular wins, Srivastava said, “It feels great to end IOPC and start AOPS on such a high, it hasn’t really sunk in yet.”

Talking about some of the exciting hands he played, the champion confessed, “As for interesting hands, I just got very lucky and got back to back AA for 2 knockouts in 2 hands on the final table.”

However, Srivastava wasn’t the only Millionaire to emerge last night. Joining the champion on the podium was Wilson ‘PokerBadger’ Yomso who finished runner-up for ₹32.77 Lakhs, along with Avijit ‘tyler2643’ Jaiswal (3rd for ₹15.70 Lakhs, 110th for ₹48,860) and Sanket ‘GHOSTF@CE’ Arora (4th for ₹11.84 Lakhs, 21st for ₹1.81 Lakhs, 166th for ₹38,390), all of whom entered the ‘Millionaire’s Club’ with their incredible final table finishes in The Millionaire Main Event.

With the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) now in the books, the IOPC Tournament Leaderboard has also concluded. Rising above hundreds of competitors to claim the lavish SUV, MG Hector, was Amit ‘Immortal Killer’ Sur. He accumulated 11,636.87 points to capture the pole position and finished miles ahead of Sriharsha ‘Fish2050’ Doddapaneni, who was the runner-up with 10,123.70 points. Doddapaneni received ₹3.50 Lakhs, while Sanket ‘GHOSTF@CE’ Arora pocketed ₹2.30 Lakhs for his third-place finish with 9,725.10 points.

The online run of the PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) also culminated with the PMVS #19 Main Event SuperStack ₹35 Lakhs GTD forming its nine-handed final table. The event logged in a field of 703 entries (385 unique and 318 re-entries), generating a prize pool of ₹35.15 Lakhs.
