Right off the back of 9stacks qualifier Nishant Sharma’s awe-inspiring run in the 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event World Championship, we were treated to poker veteran Paawan Bansal’s astounding runner-up finish in The Closer – $1,500 NLHE $1 Million GTD for $378,765 (~₹2.60 Crores). While Team PokerStars India pro Aditya ‘Intervention’ Agarwal wrapped up his WSOP journey for this year, he has swelled his WSOP winnings to a total of $76,199 (~₹52.31 Lakhs) and is only three short of Berry Johnston record of ten Main Event cashes.
With the WSOP only a day away from reaching its finale as the last event, i.e. Event #78: The Big One for One Drop – $1,000,000 No-Limit Hold’em, is on Day 2, the online felts have not been devoid of action either. For a third week PokerStars India offered massive overlays to its player pool in its flagship events and lapping up the opportunity, Danish ‘Beirut Spy’ Shaikh scored the ginormous amount of ₹4.63 Lakhs in the Sunday Special ₹25 Lakhs GTD event and followed it up with another score worth ₹53,788 in the Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD event. ‘BinjaNitches’ won the Sunday Storm ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹44,773, while ‘tinaistiny’ pocketed ₹22,143 for winning the Sunday Warm-Up ₹1 Lakhs GTD.
The Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) events on India’s most trusted poker site PokerBaazi gave away hefty paydays to Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra who took down BSS ₹15 Lakhs GTD for a smooth ₹3.30 Lakhs, Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla collected ₹1.20 Lakhs for shipping the BSS ₹5 Lakhs GTD and ‘Aone1’ took home ₹42,000 for topping the BSS ₹1 Lakh GTD.
The winners list at the Sunday Blast Series on MadOverPoker included Apurv ‘Dojing_Bullets’ Chakraborty (Hysteria for ₹1.05 Lakhs), Anubhav ‘pokpok’ Ghosh (Dynamite for ₹35,377), Shashank ‘Acekiller’ Shekhar (Boom and Bounty Mafia PKO for ₹26,082 and ₹22,637 respectively), ‘ankit’ (Madhouse for ₹15,916) and Bhupendra ‘Bhuppi’ Prajapati (Sunday Crawler for ₹10,735).
And finally at 9stacks, Vivek ‘Gujjar’ Nagar took down the signature Sunday Stacks for ₹46,500 while all the seven players who reached the final table of the ‘Winner @ FT’event won ₹15,000 each.
