It was an electrifying Sunday with Adda52’s Full House and Spartan Poker’s FMS Main Event crowning champions. While both flagships witnessed overlays, some of the other marquees were able to generate guarantee-smashing prize pools. Without further ado, let’s take a look at how things went down last night!

Spartan Poker

The crowning glory of the second edition of the Freezeout Master Series (FMS) was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD FMS Main Event. The ₹11,000 buy-in tourney accumulated 469 entries (Day 1A – 126, Day 1B – 134, Day 1C – 209) across its three starting flights, leading to a shortfall of ₹3.10 Lakhs. APL Ambassador Sumit ‘Sands Myth’ Sapra battled his way through ‘Sid297’ in the heads-up to claim the top honors that included a ₹9.67 Lakhs payday. The runner-up took home ₹6.10 Lakhs.

Sapra has been in great form for the past few months and recently crossed the ₹5 Crore-mark in online earnings. He presently has ₹5.52 Crores in recorded earnings.

The Sunday staple event on Spartan Poker, the ₹40 Lakhs GTD Sunday SuperStack, gathered 804 entries and just about managed to surpass its advertised guarantee by ₹20,000. Mystery user ‘Richie4ich’ toppled the competition and claimed ₹6.29 Lakhs in first-place cash prize, following a heads-up deal with the Spartan Poker reg ‘BuddyLove’ (runner-up for ₹6.18 Lakhs).

Adda52

The biggest guaranteed tourney running last night was Adda52’s ₹1 Crore GTD Full House Finale. Sporting a buy-in of ₹5,500, the event logged in 1,810 entries through six starting flights. Once again, this wasn’t enough to reach the break-even mark, resulting in a massive ₹9.50 Lakhs overlay.

The former Millionaire Lite champion, Dhinesh ‘dinzy009’ Kumar, decimated the field, banking the mouth-watering ₹25 Lakhs winner’s paycheque. This also happens to be his personal-best score to-date, with his overall winnings standing tall at ₹1.88 Crores. Veteran pro Jasven ‘bajateraho’ Saigal fell one spot short of clinching the title and had to settle for a runner-up payout of ₹13 Lakhs.

The other marquee tourney on Adda52, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Millions, collected a commendable ₹26.7 Lakhs after registering 267 entrants. After nearly nine hours of intense play, well-known reg Sahil ‘imhighishove’ Mahboobani walked away with ₹5.05 Lakhs in first-place prize money. A three-way deal saw Ayush ‘lazyman’ Garg (runner-up for ₹4.70 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan (3rd for ₹4.43 Lakhs) also secure podium finishes.

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD Big Slick was another big-ticket event that couldn’t escape the overlay curse. Despite locking in 552 entries, it experienced an overlay of ₹2.58 Lakhs. Young Gun Arsh ‘bigggtymer’ Grover shipped the event for ₹2.57 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop with Abhishek ‘degen88’ Kumar (runner-up for ₹2.24 Lakhs). Grover is currently ranked #3 on the yearly leaderboard, and this latest victory has boosted his annual earnings over ₹2.5 Crores (~₹92 Lakhs in profit).

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Sunday Moonlight was championed by ‘rtuteja’ for ₹83,626, who agreed to a four-way deal with Himanshu ‘himanshu_s’ Sehgal (runner-up for ₹76,948), ‘abhinav3636’ (3rd for ₹73,066) and Tanmaya ‘DragonMonster’ Gupta (4th for ₹71,785) before taking down the title.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi’s Sunday flagship, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack, pulled in 501 participants, collecting ₹25.05 Lakhs. Abhishek ‘abhi3333’ Garg championed the event for ₹4.86 Lakhs, outlasting ‘classic6048’ who finished runner-up for ₹3.41 Lakhs. This was Garg’s first BSS SuperStack title of 2020. He currently has ₹2.31 Crores in recorded online winnings, out of which ₹75.08 Lakhs he has won on PokerBaazi.

Meanwhile, the anonymous user ‘sabJuwaaHai’ raced past a 413-strong entry field in the ₹6 Lakhs GTD Grindes#33 Main Event to claim the lion’s share of the ₹6.20 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹1.24 Lakhs.

Harsh ‘100crdream’ Dembla was the last player standing in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6-Max and bagged ₹1.20 Lakhs in cash prize for his win. The event registered 197 entries, falling a marginal ₹7,500 short of its listed guarantee.

PokerStars India

Goonjan Mall was in fierce form last night. Playing under the moniker ‘gmtesting.ind’, he not only shipped PokerStars India’s ₹18 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special – Progressive KO for ₹3.57 Lakhs, but also final tabled the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Sunday Highroller, finishing sixth for ₹75,032. His spectacular run yesterday saw him secure a cumulative score of ₹4.32 Lakhs, taking his lifetime earnings to ₹4.76 Crores. He is now within touching distance of the magical ₹5 Crores-mark.

The Sunday Special logged in 330 entries, suffering an overlay of ₹2 Lakhs. Karan ‘999AykA999’ Jain finished runner-up to Mall and banked ₹1.67 lakhs for his runner-up finish.

The Sunday Highroller fared slightly better than the Sunday Special. While it also experienced an overlay, the loss was relatively lower—the site filled in a deficit of ₹30,000 on the back of 147 entries. Vaibhav ‘GTO_LIFE_GG’ Sharma took down the event for ₹3.12 Lakhs, just as ‘Investor9999’ came in second for ₹2.34 Lakhs.

Pocket52

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD Pocket Aces headlined the MTT line-up on Pocket52 yesterday. Wrangling in 272 entries, the event fell ₹4.12 Lakh short of fulfilling its proposed guarantee. Himanshu hdwivedi3 Dwivedi captured the title and the top prize of ₹3.22 Lakhs.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Bracelet found a winner in Sonal Sprhr Parihar, who netted a winner’s paycheque worth ₹1.15 Lakhs.

Bringing the curtains down on the second edition of Spartan Poker’s Freezeout Masters Series was the ₹50 Lakhs GTD FMS#20 Main Event. The flagship tourney had logged in 469 entries (Day 1A – 126, Day 1B – 134, Day 1C – 209) across its three starting flights, registering an overlay of ₹3.10 Lakhs, and 66 players came back to play Day 2 at 10 PM last night.

After a four-hour run, it was seasoned reg Sumit ‘Sands Myth’ Sapra, who emerged the champion. Sapra defeated ‘Sid297’ heads-up to capture the title.

Sapra features prominently among the top 10 winners this year, and given his winning form, this is hardly surprising.
