The second Sunday of 2019 was brimming with exciting online action with many notables collecting big payouts. Team PokerGuru ambassador, Jayjit Ray was especially in top form this past Sunday as he picked up scores in two big ticket events.
India’s most trusted site, PokerBaazi had recently increased the guarantee of its mainstay event, the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) Superstack from ₹15 Lakhs to ₹25 Lakhs. As expected, the increased guarantee drew in a massive field of 500 entries (304 unique and 200 re-entries) that smashed the guarantee with the prize pool touching ₹25.20 Lakhs. Ray aka ‘england’ played exceptionally well in the event to reach the heads-up against Anurag ‘13anurag’ Shrivastava. In the end, he narrowly missed the title and finished runner-up for ₹3.46 Lakhs, while Shrivastava bagged ₹4.78 Lakhs for the win. However, Ray more than made up for this narrow miss by taking down the Sunday Special ₹15 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India. He obliterated the competition to win a further ₹3.20 Lakhs.
Ray wasn’t the only talent from the PokerGuru stable in stellar form, this past Sunday. Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam had quite the run, as in addition to winning the BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.47 Lakhs, he made deep runs in PokerStars India’s Sunday Special (8th for ₹32,616) and Sunday Stars (7th for ₹8,459) as ‘LFGgggg’.
Another Team PokerGuru ambassador, Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved trailblazed his way to the top of the Ultrasonic ₹1 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India and won ₹23,748.
Meanwhile, the Grinders#33 Main Event was won by Harish ‘Harishguptha’ Guptha for ₹62,500, while the latest addition on the PokerBaazi Sunday lineup, the Sunday Sunday ₹1 Lakh GTD was taken down by ‘Lucky204’ for ₹18,423.
