The online railbirds kept busy with the excitement of the various high-value tournaments that were hosted on India’s most trusted poker site, PokerBaazi. The nail-biting action saw the regs taking down the big-ticket events. While Kanishk ‘gooner1317’ Upreti (cover image) won the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) ₹15 Lakhs GTD SuperStack tournament for a hefty payday of ₹3.03 Lakhs, the BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD event was taken down by Young Gun Akshay ‘sherlock52’ Nasa for ₹1.42 Lakhs.
Taking advantage of the overlays on PokerStars India, another online MTT-reg Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma shipped the Sunday Special ₹15 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.89 Lakhs where he pipped Team PokerStars India pro Aditya Agarwal heads-up to win the top prize. In the other major events, Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja won the Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹59,083, Amit ‘Stu Ungar 7694’ Kaushik claimed stake on the first-place purse of ₹40,206 in the Sunday Storm ₹3 Lakhs GTD and ‘jugadupoker’ shipped the Sunday Warm-Up – ₹800 NLHE, ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹11,468.
Meanwhile, 9stacks made a grand start to their Anniversary month by increasing the prize pool in their flagship tournament – Sunday Stacks. Winning this week’s Sunday Stacks was Gaurav ‘Rafael13’ Arora for ₹1.35 Lakhs.
Winners apart, we saw several seasoned pros in the mix this Sunday, as Team PokerStars pro Aditya Agarwal finished runner-up in the Sunday Special at PokerStars India for ₹2.13 Lakhs, while GPL India Bengaluru Hackers captain Vidwath Shetty finished 10th in the BSS ₹15 Lakhs GTD SuperStack at PokerBaazi for ₹41,250 even as Abhisek Panda picked up the ninth place score of₹17,100 in the BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD.
At MadOverPoker, Satyam Shukla ‘emoboy112233’Pandit (Dyamite for ₹42,3910, Jeet ‘tanmay007’ Mondal (Grenade for ₹34,020) and Aditya ‘KesarDa’ Kesarwani (MadHouse for ₹22,000) won the featured events on Sunday. Server related issues at the site led to the cancellation of a few tournaments, including the NightCrawler on Sunday.
