Prize pool guarantees continue to crumble at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Online India series that played out its fourth day on Adda52. Needless to say, the WPTOI dominated the Sunday action, with a packed 10 side events on the day`s schedule that included three WPT trophy events.
For a second consecutive week, there was no Millionaire edition on Spartan Poker`s weekend schedule. Still, its ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack had the biggest guaranteed prize pool on offer across all the major poker platforms.
Without any further ado, here are the day’s highlights!
Spartan Poker
For a second week running, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack headlined the Sunday night action on Spartan Poker. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in tourney locked in 682 contenders, overlaying ₹90,000. Sajjan ‘KalaAngrez’ Barnwal was the last player standing in the tourney and won ₹6.02 Lakhs for the victory after defeating ‘vrockz’ (runner-up for ₹4.96 Lakhs) in heads-up play.
The other big-ticket tourney running last night was the ₹8.50 Lakhs GTD Money Heist. The tourney clocked in 255 entries, experiencing an overlay deficit of ₹85,000. Here again, a mystery user ‘mndka’ took down the title for ₹1.97 Lakhs. ‘alamatm365’ finished runner-up for ₹1.33 Lakhs.
Starting November 16 onwards, the action promises to reach new heights at Spartan Poker with the India Poker Championship unleashing its brand-new 2020 Final Table Series (FTS)! The eight-day-long series promises ₹8 Crores in guaranteed prizes. For the first time in India, six feature tournaments at the series will be live-streamed simultaneously across 10 platforms!
PokerStars India
PokerStars India`s Sunday run of events was headlined by the site`s signature ₹15 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special Progressive KO that logged in 291 entrants, falling ₹45,000 short of the guarantee. Following nearly nine hours of play, ‘InTooDeep41’ came out on top, banking ₹3.16 Lakhs in prize money. PokerStars India reg Vaibhav ‘vaibsss’ Bhatia, who had entered the tourney through a ₹500 buy-in satellite, scored a whopping ₹1.08 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘b00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan rounded out the podium finishers, placing third ₹1.38 Lakhs.
The other ₹15 Lakhs GTD tournament on the site, the Sunday Highroller, registered 145 entries, overlaying ₹50,000. Sahil ‘you3bi4b’ Nair banked the most significant portion of the prize pool kitty worth ₹3.12 Lakhs, after eliminating ‘GodPGuru’ (runner-up for ₹2.34 Lakhs) in heads-up play.
PokerStars India’s ‘Star of the Month’ leaderboard race saw Shailesh Patel winning the October Finale on November 4. The leaderboard promotion has moved over to November, where topping the Week #1 chart was Siddharth Pandey (696 points). Armaan Kochhar (659 points) and Young Gun Anmol Mehta (504 points) came in second and third in the rankings, respectively. The top 25 PokerGuru members on the Week #1 leaderboard have qualified for the November finale. For more details and the complete rankings, visit the “Star of the Month” page.
Adda52
Several big guarantee tournaments graced the first Sunday of the WPT Online India series, where leading the charge was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT Super Stack. Running from 8 PM to 4 AM, the tourney generated a jaw-dropping ₹35.90 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 718 entries. A relatively lesser-known player, Saahib ‘saahib’ Bawa, raced past the competition and outlasted Sarvesh ‘playhereforsure13’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹5.20 Lakhs) in the heads-up finale to clinch his career-first WPT Online title for ₹8.97 Lakhs. This happened to be Bawa’s second-best score on Adda52, while his best score continues to be the ₹9.18 Lakhs that he won for placing runner-up in the ₹40 Lakhs GTD AOPS Holdem Highroller on May 15. The Sunday night win boosted Bawa`s recorded earnings on Adda52 to ₹48.39 Lakhs.
Advait ‘ronaldinho018’ Rajguru finished third in the WPT Super Stack for ₹3.51 Lakhs. Rajguru is one player who has been in phenomenal form these last few weeks, adding numerous deep runs to his name recently. This includes a seventh-place finish in Spartan Poker’s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny on November 4 for ₹72,500, third-place in the ₹5.5 Lakhs GTD The Flash on November 2 for ₹51,040, and a runner-up score worth ₹4.98 Lakhs in the ₹35 Lakhs GTD The Elite on October 30. He currently boasts of ₹87.85 Lakhs in lifetime online winnings.
The WPT Super Stack was not the only WPT Trophy tourney on Sunday. Two ₹20 Lakhs GTD tourneys played out on Adda52 last night, the WPT India Bounty Championship, and the WPT2500.
Sporting an entry buy-in of ₹6,500, the WPT India Bounty Championship recorded 340 entries, obliterating its prize pool guarantee. Rohan ‘rohan142’ Soman outlasted the competition to win the ₹7.71 Lakhs (includes bounties) first-place prize money, denying former Adda52 Team Pro Kunal ‘kunalpatni’ Patni (runner-up for ₹3.90 Lakhs) the WPT Online title.
The WPT 2500 registered 941 entries that generated ₹21.17 Lakhs in the prize pool. After 10 hours of intense play, Amit ‘tima1106’ More walked away with the title and the top prize of ₹5.15 Lakhs, even as Vashi ‘fiery’ Das finished runner-up for ₹2.80 Lakhs.
Even the ₹10 Lakhs GTD WPT Monster Turbo crushed its prize pool guarantee. ‘rohit010587’ raced past the 500-entry field to grab the lion’s share of the ₹11.37 Lakhs prize pool worth ₹2.65 Lakhs.
Himanshu ‘bagdwalhimanshu’ Bagdwal was another first-time WPT Online title winner on Sunday. He championed the ₹8 Lakhs GTD WPT Lazy Sunday for ₹1.20 Lakhs after striking a five-way deal with Abhiroop ‘Daniel90’ Gupta (runner-up for ₹1.09 Lakhs), Suresh ‘insanium’ Kolli (3rd for ₹97,675), ‘gauravgoru’ (4th for ₹78,484) and Navaneesha ‘np406’ P (5th for ₹77,949).
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD WPT Classic wrangled in 359 entries, experiencing a marginal shortfall of ₹9,965. Anonymous user ‘mukeshgahkot542’ took down the tourney for ₹1.25 Lakhs. Akshay ‘NoFuchsGiven’ Dhingra placed runner-up for ₹75,750.
PokerBaazi
The ₹20 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack spearheaded the Sunday night action on PokerBaazi. A total of 406 entrants coughed up the ₹5,500 entry buy-in that led to a prize pool collection of ₹20.30 Lakhs. The field whittled down to a heads-up between Uttam ‘dragon777’ Shaw and PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja. The former eventually prevailed to win the title and the winner’s paycheque of ₹4.26 Lakhs. Ahuja collected ₹2.98 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
The Chandigarh-based Ahuja has moved up to #6 on the annual leaderboard after this win, boasting a whopping ₹2.85 Crores in earnings this year. He had previously won PokerStars India’s ₹12 Lakhs GTD Highroller on Friday, and his Sunday night winnings have improved his lifetime tally to ₹5.88 Crores.
Like past Sundays, PokerBaazi had two ₹5 Lakhs GTD tourneys running yesterday – the BSS MegaStack and the BSS Monster 6-Max.
The BSS MegaStack logged in 207 entries, collecting ₹5.17 Lakhs in the prize pool. The first-ever BPT Main Event champion Puneet ‘neo1’ Dua, championed the tourney to win ₹1.24 Lakhs while Siddharth ‘Siddonuts’ Pandey came in second for ₹87,613.

PokerDangal
The festive-season special Dangal Diwali Series (DDS) witnessed an exciting finale as its ₹20 Lakhs GTD DDS Main Event crowned Prashant ‘kingslayer’ Jha the champion. The winner trounced an 880-entry field to win ₹3.25 Lakhs in prize money!
