Sunday was teeming with action on the virtual felts! From the GPS Millionaire on Spartan Poker to Adda52’s Full House, PokerBaazi’s PMVS SuperStack, and PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller, there was a plethora of big-ticket tourney on offer yesterday. If you missed the action, let us tell you what went down last night!

Spartan Poker

The inaugural Grand Poker Series (GPS) came to an end yesterday. The crowning jewel of the series, GPS The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD, played out amid a field of 954 entries (454 unique, 220 re-entries and 280 re-buys), and the site had to fill in a shortfall of ₹4.60 Lakhs. Site regular ‘lazylad’, who had previously finished runner-up to Mahima Walia ‘mambojojo’ Das in the inaugural Millionaire United, more than made up for his close finish by taking down the first-ever GPS Millionaire title for a whopping ₹19.08 Lakhs. Arjun ‘lol this guy’ Pasricha had championed the second edition of the Millionaire United on May 17 and finished runner-up in the IOPC Super High Roller in February. He finished runner-up in the GPS Millionaire for ₹11.78 Lakhs yesterday.

The Sunday staple event on Spartan Poker, the GPS Sunday SuperStack ran with a ₹40 Lakhs prize pool GTD. The tourney registered 824 entries (408 unique, 159 re-entries and 257 re-buys), falling slightly short of last week’s 891 entries. Nevertheless, the event still comfortably surpasses its advertised guarantee and locked in ₹41.20 Lakhs in the prize pool. Anish ‘anishsuri’ Suri powered his way through a fiercely competitive final table to win the title for ₹7.90 Lakhs, while ‘d@enareys’ came in second for ₹4.96 Lakhs.Suri also final tabled the Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD, placing seventh for ₹11,466.

Spartan Poker’s GPS Big Daddy ₹10 Lakhs GTD also suffered an overlay of ₹12,000, after pulling in 494 participants (261 unique, 81 re-entries and 152 re-buys). Mystery user ‘whodahellru1’ came out on top and bested Pranav ‘mithrandir16’ Anand (runner-up for ₹1.42 Lakhs) heads-up, banking a top prize worth ₹1.76 Lakhs.

The GPS Reloaded ₹5 Lakhs GTD was won by online reg ‘MansaMusa’ who triumphed over a field of 487 entries (263 unique, 52 re-entries and 172 rebuys) and bagged a winner’s payday of ₹80,345. The event had a shortfall of ₹13,000.

The Destiny Jr Finale 2.0 SnG also took place last night, and Arun ‘Rohini Sharma’ Karthik outlasted PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHeights’ Singh to claim ₹90,000 in first-place prize money. Singh received ₹60,000 for placing second.Singh’s second final table score of the night came in Adda52’s Millions ₹25 Lakhs GTD where he finished seventh for ₹84,900.

With the GPS now in the rear-view mirror, the action will quickly shift to the Ultimate Value Series (UVS) that kicks off today. Comprising of 45 events, the series promises ₹1 Crore plus in guaranteed prizes. The star attraction of the series will undoubtedly be the UVS – The Millionaire Lite ₹35 Lakhs GTD that will take place on June 14.

Adda52

While Spartan Poker had the GPS Millionaire, Adda52 hosted its Sunday favorite Full House ₹1 Crore GTD that drew in 1,745 runners (Day 1A – 306, Day 1B – 170, Day 1C – 273, Day 1D – 310, and Day 1E – 686) across five starting flights, resulting in a sizable overlay of ₹12.75 Lakhs. Only 196 runners made it through to Day 2, out of which just 193 finished ITM. Capturing the title was online phenom Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra after he defeated ‘sanjays114‘ (runner-up for ₹13.30 Lakhs) in the heads-up finale. Mehrotra added a hefty sum of ₹25 Lakhs to his ever-expanding bankroll.

But that wasn’t all as Mehrotra continued his stellar form in the Adda52 Millions ₹25 Lakhs GTD. Though he placed fifth for ₹1.62 Lakhs, the back-to-back deep runs have now taken his lifetime online winnings to ₹1.76 Crores. The Millions was eventually shipped by Manish ‘newkidpoker’ Lakhotia for ₹7.24 Lakhs and Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall finished second for ₹4.31 Lakhs. The tourney had an unbeaten run last night as it logged in 283 entries (167 unique and 116 re-entries), generating a prize pool worth ₹28.30 Lakhs. Lakhotia’s splendid run also saw him final tabling Spartan Poker’s GPS Sunday SuperStack (7th for ₹1.27 Lakhs).

The Big Slick ₹15 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 was among the Sunday marquees that suffered an overlay. With 602 entries (357 unique and 245 re-entries) registered, the site paid off an overlay of ₹1.45 Lakhs. MTT-crusher Srihari ‘zombieballs’ Bang came out on top for a winner’s paycheque of ₹2.74 Lakhs. Ram ‘mowgumotu’ Kakkar finished runner-up for ₹2 Lakhs.

Another player who deserves special mention is Danish ‘king0fmerge’ Shaikh. An old-timer on the domestic circuit, Shaikh final tabled two of the most prominent events on Adda52 last night, the Full House (7th for ₹2 Lakhs) and the Adda52 Millions (3rd for ₹3.25 Lakhs).

PokerBaazi

The PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) was another power-packed series (alongside the GPS) that concluded yesterday with the ₹50 Lakhs GTD PMVS Main Event SuperStack crowning a champion in Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Mr_Robot’ Narwal. The Delhi-lad outmaneuvered‘Saranraj1987’ in the heads-up play and pocketed ₹8.76 Lakhs for his win. The runner-up took home ₹6.14 Lakhs in prize money.

India’s most trusted online poker site hosted two ₹10 Lakhs GTD events yesterday, the PMVS BSS MegaStack, and the Weekly Depositor’s Freeroll. Rohit ‘acesinyourfaces’ Setia won the BSS MegaStack for ₹2.09 Lakhs. Anonymous user ‘Pokerghost’ topped the field in the Weekly Depositor’s Freeroll for ₹1.51 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with ‘shyam93kr’ (runner-up for ₹1.15 Lakhs).

The PMVS BSS Monster ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD saw ‘DEEPAKALLIN’ trounce a field comprising of 159 unique players and 119 re-entries to clinch the title and top prize worth ₹1.66 Lakhs. A heads-up deal saw ‘Ikka5′ finish second for ₹1.16 Lakhs.

PokerStars India

PokerStars India flagship Sunday tournaments, the Sunday Highroller ₹20 Lakhs GTD and the Sunday Special ₹20 Lakhs GTD, received a mixed response last night.

The Sunday Highroller failed to meet its listed guarantee and had a shortfall of ₹70,000, after attracting 193 entries (125 unique and 68 re-entries). Tournament regular ‘prawnpickle’ was the last player standing and netted ₹3.97 Lakhs for their win.

The Sunday Special just about managed to surpass the advertised guarantee by ₹70,000 on the back of a 414-strong entry field (240 unique and 174 re-entries). Gaurav ‘F1SH@SH4RK’ Mittal walked away with the top honors, including the ₹3.78 Lakhs up top, while WSOP bracelet winner Aditya ‘serendipity789’ Sushant finished runner-up for ₹2.61 Lakhs.

Two more players who deserve mention are PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik Ved and Ankush Aryan. Ved final tabled two big guarantee events across Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi, namely the GPS Millionaire (6th for ₹3.98 Lakhs) and the PMVS Main Event SuperStack (5th for ₹2.19 Lakhs).
