It was an overlay parade on the virtual felts last night! Most of the big-ticket tourneys were fraught with deficits, which means that it was a ‘value-filled’ night for the players. Without further ado, let’s check out who the big winners were!

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker’s final ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire for August eventually crowned Ayush ‘HighHopes’ Garg as the champion in the wee hours of Monday morning. The mega event pulled in 1,971 entries across four starting flights, experiencing a ₹1.45 Lakhs overlay. Garg, who was in peak form yesterday, outlasted Neeraj ‘SelfClaimedPros’ Kumar in the final showdown to claim his career-first Millionaire title for ₹12.60 Lakhs; after a three-way deal! Kumar walked away with a commendable ₹11.63 Lakhs for his second-place finish. Following this win, Garg winnings on Spartan Poker has reached ₹32.27 Lakhs.

Not content with winning The Millionaire, Garg also championed PokerBaazi’s ₹8 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack for another ₹1.77 Lakhs, taking his cumulative score for the night to ₹14.37 Lakhs!

The Sunday signature event on Spartan Poker, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday SuperStack, collected 716 entries and was the only Sunday flagship that successfully surpassed its listed guarantee. The primetime event posted a ₹35.80 Lakhs prize pool with the experienced Alok ‘Mazacar’ Birewar topping the field to claim the most significant portion of the prize pool, amounting to ₹6.92 Lakhs.

The ₹12 Lakhs GTD Money Heist persisted with the overlay trend. The ₹3,300 buy-in event garnered 301 entries, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a shortfall and resulted in the site having to fill in a ₹2.97 Lakhs deficit. Abhishek ‘TheGrinder’ Garg took down the event for ₹2.53 Lakhs.

Adda52

Adda52’s ₹1 Crore GTD Full House Finale ran alongside Spartan Poker’s Millionaire and predictably suffered a massive overlay of ₹13.95 Lakhs. Considering that none of the Full House tourneys have been able to meet their guarantees to date, this came as no surprise. The ₹5,500 buy-in event registered 1,721 entries, and traversing the colossal field was the Game Changer 2.0 champion Shagun ‘sogani94’ Jain, who banked a jaw-dropping ₹25 Lakhs payday for his win! This is Jain’s biggest recorded score on Adda52.

Jain defeated Vikaash ‘vicky0809’ Shah heads-up (runner-up for ₹13 Lakhs) to claim the title, while PokerGuru Ambassador Rony ‘fish4life’ Chowdhury came in third for ₹7.50 Lakhs.

Young Gun Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta powered through 227 participants in the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions and pocketed the lion’s share of the prize pool kitty worth ₹6.86 Lakhs. The tournament recorded a shortfall of ₹2.30 Lakhs. Mehta was ranked #17 on the annual leaderboard before this win, with ₹1.80 Crores in yearly earnings.

The ₹15 Lakhs GTD Big Slick fared no better than the other two marquees. With 552 contenders paying up the ₹2,500 entry fee, the site still had to fill in a ₹2.58 Lakhs overlay. ‘whodahellru,’ who had shipped The Ballers a few days ago, added a second title to their name for a ₹2.41 Lakhs payday. ‘PunYaLan’ finished runner-up for ₹2.06 Lakhs.

Unknown user ‘poker_king52’ emerged victorious in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Sunday Moonlight to win ₹1.28 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi

The showstopper on PokerBaazi was the Sunday bonanza, ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS Superstack, that wrangled in 429 entries – falling ₹3.55 Lakhs short of its proposed guarantee. Mohak ‘Tiltin’ Kapoor raced past the competition and clinched the top honors, including a top prize worth ₹5.02 Lakhs, after defeating Rajesh ‘intervntion’ Kumar Shukla (runner-up for ₹3.52 Lakhs) heads-up. With this win, Kapoor has accrued ₹82.09 Lakhs in recorded online winnings.

At his multi-tabling best, the latest Millionaire champion Ayush Garg took down another title last night when he won the ₹8 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack on PokerBaazi for ₹1.77 Lakhs. Playing under the moniker ‘Proman502,’ Garg decimated a field of 283 entries, which included besting Chanti ‘Majay’ Nayak (runner-up for ₹1.24 Lakhs) heads-up. The event experienced an overlay of ₹92,500.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6 – Max logged in 179 entries, registering a deficit of ₹52,500. Rohit ‘acesinyourfaces’ Setia conquered the title and the top prize of ₹1.24 Lakhs.

The PokerBaazi Bankroll Builder Series (PBBS) culminated last night with the ₹2 Lakhs GTD Main Event crowning a champion in Himanshu ‘toughonluck’ Bagdwal for ₹35,200.

PokerStars India

The two-day long ₹40 Lakhs GTD The Hercules returned on PokerStars India on August 29. The event garnered 478 entries, resulting in a deficit of ₹6.54 Lakhs. Vinayak ‘koi.toh.rok.lo’ Bajaj charged his way to the top of the field and took down the title for ₹6.55 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with Guneet ‘GSK1515’ Kwatra (runner-up for ₹5.77 Lakhs). Bajaj had finished runner-up in the previous edition of The Hercules on August 9, banking ₹5.42 Lakhs in prize money. He redeemed that close finish by taking down the title this time around. With this win, he now has ₹48.97 Lakhs in recorded winnings on PokerStars India.

PokerStars India`s ₹18 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special Progressive KO ran its course without much success. Like always, the event suffered an overlay of ₹3.40 Lakhs on the back of 292 entries. Mystery user ‘easywithducks’ championed the event for ₹3.56 Lakhs, while ‘VMRVIVIN’ came in second for ₹2.32 Lakhs.

Site regular ‘Infic11’ final tabled both the flagship tournaments on the site, placing third in The Hercules for ₹3.82 Lakhs and fifth in the Sunday Special PKO for ₹75,231.

Pocket52

Pocket52’s biggest online poker series to date, Blue, hosted its final Sunday extravaganza yesterday. The month-long series that had kicked off on August 1 concludes tonight. The Sunday signature tourney, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Pocket Aces, yet again, posted a deficit of ₹4 Lakhs, after logging in 275 entries. Anonymous user ‘Richierich’ lived up to their moniker by taking down the tourney for ₹3.22 Lakhs.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Bracelet fell ₹36,000 short of its advertised guarantee, despite attracting 182 entrants. ‘sharkpeaks’ took down the event for ₹1.12 Lakhs, just as Harsh ‘Buddhabhikari’ Dembla came in second for ₹67,500.
