Sundays always offer blockbuster action, but last night was relatively lackluster. We have gotten so used to witnessing ₹1 Crore GTD tourneys every Sunday that it seemed a little dull with no Millionaire or Full House Finale in sight. Nevertheless, there was much high-octane action on offer, with Shagun Jain coming out as the day’s biggest winner. With an impressive two flagship titles under his belt, namely, Adda52’s ₹60 Lakhs GTD Grand Mega Suits and PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Lakhs BSS Monster 6-Max, Jain raked in a whopping ₹13.85 Lakhs!
Here are the Sunday highlights!
Spartan Poker
For the first time in several weeks, there was no Millionaire tourney running on Spartan Poker. So, headlining the Sunday night action on the site was the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack. And it comfortably met its guarantee on the back of 703 entries. One of the most well-known regs on the circuit, Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit, trailblazed to the top of the field and netted the ₹6.80 Lakhs top prize. He bested ‘hemflying1’ (runner-up for ₹4.28 Lakhs) en-route to capturing the title. This brought back-to-back flagship titles for Purohit, who had won the Titan Stack on Saturday. The win has pushed his MTT scorecard over ₹5.9 Crores, bringing him on the edge of making it into the “₹6 Crore-Club.”
The other big-ticket tourney on Spartan Poker, the ₹3,300 entry buy-in Money Heist, logged in 254 participants, overlaying ₹88,000 on its ₹8.50 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. Running from 9.30 PM to 3.04 AM, the event crowned a champion in ‘$ura13,’ who pocketed ₹1.88 Lakhs. The mystery player ‘American Airlines’ came in second for ₹1.27 Lakhs.
Another mystery user ‘LondonGuy’ shipped the ₹4 Lakhs GTD Sunday Monster Stack for ₹71,968, following a three-way deal with Dhirendra ‘dhiru91’ Kumar (runner-up for ₹67,562) and ‘VSXXX’ (third for ₹61,729).
PokerStars India
Like last Sunday, PokerStars India once again hosted two ₹15 Lakhs guaranteed tournaments, namely the Sunday Special – Progressive KO and the Sunday Highroller.
The Sunday Special – Progressive KO pulled in 310 entries, collecting ₹15.50 Lakhs in the prize pool. Sandeep ‘SANDYINC.’ Rajora banked the lion’s share of the prize pool worth ₹2.70 Lakhs, even as ‘sumitm74’ received a runner-up paycheque of ₹1.93 Lakhs.
The ₹11,000 entry buy-in Sunday Highroller couldn’t generate the same interest as the Sunday Special. After clocking in 143 entries, the event suffered an overlay of ₹70,000. Following almost six hours of intense play, ‘GodPGuru’ came out on top to win ₹3.12 Lakhs, just as ‘asdfmrinal’ finished runner-up for ₹2.34 Lakhs.
In addition to all the ITM finishers in the Sunday Special PKO, 13 others cashed the ₹1 Lakhs GTD Sunday Supersonic to collect TLB points on the PokerStars India “Star of the Month” Leaderboard. Outlasting the 82-strong field in the event was ‘MrBigSlick139,’ who earned ₹24,341 for their efforts.
‘RAV1619’ has topped the Week #4 leaderboard tally with 854 points, with PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat Arya (717 points) and Armaan Kochhar (701 points) placing second and third place, respectively.
Adda52
Like Spartan Poker, even Adda52 gave its weekend extravaganza, the ₹1 Crore GTD Full House Finale, a skip. However, the site ran the ₹60 Lakhs GTD Grand Mega Suits. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in tournament dragged in 1,036 entries (Day 1A – 168, Day 1B – 197, Day 1C –223, Day 1D – 448) through four stating flights, overlaying a significant ₹8.20 Lakhs. The Game Changer 2.0 champion Shagun ‘sogani94’ Jain decimated the competition and defeated Aniket ‘anteman’ Waghmare (runner-up for ₹8.70 Lakhs) heads-up to claim a mouth-watering ₹12.60 Lakhs up-top. Jain scored a double victory last night as he also championed PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6-Max for ₹1.20 Lakhs, winning a cumulative ₹13.80 Lakhs for the day.
Budding talent Waghmare too has been wreaking havoc on the virtual felts lately. He had shipped Adda52’s 35 Lakhs GTD NANO ME Finale on October 18 for ₹5.75 Lakhs. Still, his runner-up score of ₹8.70 Lakhs in the Grand Mega Suits last night happens to be his personal-best finish to date, and it has sent his online record soaring to ₹1.36 Crores.
The ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions also joined the overlay brigade, booking a deficit of ₹1.7 Lakhs from an entry-field of 233 contenders. PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘Pegasus1505’ Ved outlasted the competition to win ₹6.86 Lakhs, even as ‘psychg0d’ finished runner-up for ₹4 Lakhs. Ved currently boasts ₹4.3 Crores in lifetime online earnings with ₹2.24 Crores in recorded winnings in 2020.
Adda52’s ₹12 Lakhs GTD Big Slick was the only Sunday night flagship that met its advertised guarantee. Attracting 542 entries, the event accumulated ₹12.50 Lakhs in the prize pool. Upcoming poker talent Vatsalya ‘tooeasy’ Rao championed the event for ₹2.31 Lakhs after eliminating Jayant ‘Hiker53’ Darokar (runner-up for ₹1.70 Lakhs) in second place. Rao booked a second title victory in PokerBazi’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack for ₹1.24 Lakhs, taking his cumulative earnings on Sunday over ₹3.5 Lakhs!
Bharat ‘rungooserun’ Vasan won the ₹4.5 Lakhs GTD Hurricane for ₹1.16 Lakhs, with ‘beatthefish66’ (runner-
PokerBaazi
Spearheading the Sunday schedule on PokerBaazi was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack. Drawing in 421 contenders, the event generated a ₹21.05 Lakhs prize pool. Bengaluru-based pro Vidwath ‘Qweasdzxc’ Shetty came out on top to clinch the winner’s paycheque worth ₹4.23 Lakhs, after outlasting ‘Yeti’ (runner-up for ₹2.96 Lakhs) in the heads-up finale. Shetty has recently been missing from the action, with his previous title victory coming in Adda52’s AOPS Inception on April 6. This win has improved his online record to ₹1.73 Crores.
There were two ₹5 Lakhs guaranteed tourneys running on PokerBaazi yesterday – the BSS MegaStack and the BSS Monster 6-Max. Vatsalya ‘MaxEV’ Rao and Shagun ‘sogani22’ Jain won a second title each by taking down these tourneys. While Rao took down BSS MegaStack for ₹1.24 Lakhs, Jain shipped the BSS Monster 6-Max for ₹1.20 Lakhs.
The PokerBaazi Bankroll Builder Series (PBBS) also culminated last night with Siddharth ‘siddarath1998’ Kumar taking down the ₹2 Lakhs GTD PBBS Main Event for ₹37,900.
