And it finally happened! The first eight-figure guaranteed tourney of 2021 – Spartan Poker’s ₹1.5 Crores GTD IOPC#24 The Millionaire United is officially in the books.
The first Millionaire tourney of the 10th edition of IOPC culminated last night with online beast Siddhanth Kripalani adding another feather to his cap. The young lad already has two Destiny titles, a Game Changer title and a WPT trophy under his belt, so it was only a matter of time before he added a Millionaire win to his name. And he clinched that missing title last night after toppling a ginormous 2,278-entry field to win a mouth-watering ₹26.70 Lakhs!
Goonjan Mall (runner-up for ₹14.70 Lakhs) and Sahil Mahboobani (3rd for ₹10.17 Lakhs) also banked seven-figures for rounding up the top three positions in the IOPC The Millionaire United.
Young Gun Sahil Chutani was among the breakout performers on Sunday for championing not one but two flagship titles, namely, Adda52’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD Mega Suits, and PokerStars India’s ₹17 Lakhs GTD Winter Series-02 Sunday Special SE, for a cumulative ₹11.18 Lakhs.
The 2020 leaderboard topper, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, raked in a whopping ₹9+ Lakhs on Sunday, ₹8.63 Lakhs of that for shipping Spartan Poker’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC#22 Sunday Superstack and final tabling PokerStars India’s ₹17 Lakhs GTD Winter Series-03 Sunday Highroller SE.
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the Sunday highlights!
Spartan Poker
The first Millionaire tourney of the IOPC January edition, i.e., the ₹1.5 Crores GTD IOPC#24 The Millionaire United, found a champion last night on Spartan Poker. A colossal field of 2,278 entries was registered across five starting flights, resulting in a guarantee-smashing ₹1.59 Crores prize pool. The Day 1A chip leader, Siddhanth ‘PluRibu$’ Kripalani, barrelled his way to the top to claim his career-first Millionaire title for a jaw-dropping ₹26.70 Lakhs!
2020 was a breakout year for Kripalani, who was the one player to win back-to-back Destiny titles. He won his first Destiny title on April 1 and the second one on the subsequent Wednesday on April 8. He also clinched the Game Changer 3.0 and WPT India Super High Roller titles last year. This was the former PMVS#24 Main Event SuperStack champion’s first title win of 2021, taking his overall online winnings to ₹2.64 Crores.
Online regular Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall finished runner-up in the Millionaire United for ₹14.70 Lakhs, while Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani came in third for ₹10.17 Lakhs.
Other notable names on the final table included Ishan ‘neatvat’ Upendra Tipre (4th for ₹7.30 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Jayjit ‘David Blaine’ Ray (5th for ₹6.06 Lakhs), Abhijeet ‘knot_snudtke’ Kumar (6th for ₹4.89 Lakhs), Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar (7th for ₹4.35 Lakhs) and Apratim ‘checm@te’ Sharma (8th for ₹2.64 Lakhs).
The 2020 leaderboard topper, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, featured prominently among the podium finishers last night. The poker prodigy sailed past a 991 strong entry field in the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IOPC#22 Sunday Superstack to take home a winner’s paycheque worth ₹7.78 Lakhs. Sood also final tabled PokerStars India’s Winter Series-02 Sunday Highroller SE, placing sixth for ₹85,036, raking in over ₹9 Lakhs last night. With ₹6.95 Crores in recorded online earnings, Sood is just a hair’s breadth away from entering the ‘₹7 Crore Club.’
Poker coach and co-founder of Poker Bootcamp India, Abhishek ‘MambaMentality’ Goindi chopped the Sunday Superstack with Sood to win ₹7.64 Lakh. Meanwhile, Siddarth ‘PeterPunter’ Singhvi (5th for ₹2.55 Lakhs) and Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah (8th for ₹94,990) were the only other well-known names on the final table.
The ₹15 Lakhs GTD IOPC#23 pulled in 465 contenders, generating a massive ₹18.57 Lakhs prize pool. Rahul ‘sttoned’ Kumar decimated the competition to win ₹3.60 Lakhs. Anmol ‘freak_weird0’ Agarwal settled for a runner-up finish worth ₹2.28 Lakhs.
Abhishek ‘allout1’ Jaiswal (₹6.75 Lakhs GTD IOPC#20 for ₹1.60 Lakhs), Siddharth ‘SidSparta21’ Ojha (₹6 Lakhs GTD IOPC#25 for ₹1.26 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Tathagata ‘RadioActivity’ Sengupta (₹4.75 Lakhs GTD IOPC#21 Monster Stack for ₹1.01 Lakhs) were the other IOPC title winners on Sunday.
PokerStars India
Usually, PokerStars India’s Sunday schedule is headlined by two ₹15 Lakhs GTD tournaments, the Sunday Special and the Sunday Highroller. However, with the much-awaited Winter Series commencing it’s run, both the Sunday flagships had their guarantees spiked to ₹17 Lakhs.
The first event on the line-up, the Winter Series-02 Sunday Special SE, witnessed an overlay of ₹60,000 on the back of 328 entries. Young Gun Sahil ‘allezjuju’ Chutani was unstoppable last night as he championed the event for ₹3.99 Lakhs (₹1.63 Lakhs in prize money, ₹2.35 Lakhs in bounties). Vinay ‘VlNAY09’ Rajpal placed runner-up for ₹1.60 Lakhs (₹1.19 Lakhs in prize money, ₹40,781 in bounties). Rajpal’s runner-up finish helped him touch the ₹2 Crore-mark in online earnings.
.
Chutani also shipped Adda52’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD Mega Suits for ₹7.20 Lakhs, netting upwards of ₹11 Lakhs for the day’s work!
Starting at 7:30 PM, the Winter Series-03 Sunday Highroller SE logged in 145 entries, overlaying ₹2.5 Lakhs. The anonymous user ‘ziraan’ locked horns with the former SVS The Millionaire Lite champion Chirag ‘WhyworrY_56’ Sodha heads-up for the title. The former eventually came out on top to win ₹3.54 Lakhs, while Sodha received ₹2.66 Lakhs in second-place prize money. Sodha also finished third in the Adda52 Millions for ₹2.91 Lakhs, banking over ₹5.50 Lakhs on Sunday.
Like the Winter Series-02 Sunday Special SE, the ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD Winter Series-05 Sunday Supersonic also awarded TLB points towards PokerStars India’s ‘Star of the Month’ – January leaderboard race. Vishal ‘KeepYourC()()I_’ Sharma shipped the event for ₹25,749, following a four-way deal with Vaibhav ‘vaibsss’ Bhatia (runner-up for ₹21,381), ‘JC1870’ (3rd for ₹20,382) and ‘Delta@Range’ (4th for ₹21,940).

Adda52
Lighting up the Sunday MTT schedule on Adda52 was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD Mega Suits that logged in 519 participants, falling a glaring ₹4.05 Lakhs short of its listed guarantee. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in tourney last for about 10 hours before the Sunday Special champion, Young Gun Sahil ‘bluffme19’ Chutani, outlasted ‘ctf’ (runner-up for ₹4.20 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹7.20 Lakhs. This happens to be Chutani’s second-best score on Adda52, taking his overall site-cashes to ₹86.94 Lakhs.
Unlike the Mega Suits, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Millions pulled in 250 entries to just about meet its advertised guarantee. Destiny 17.0 SnG Finale winner Arjunn ‘HaanMeinFlipHoon’ Agrawal was the last player standing and won ₹6.50 Lakhs, while Young Gun Devang ‘spark123’ Yadav finished runner-up for ₹3.87 Lakhs.
The ₹12.5 Lakhs GTD Big Slick sadly fell right back into the overlay pit. Clocking in 472 entries wasn’t enough to avoid the ₹1.88 Lakhs shortfall. PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘nadeem0021’ Basha, who had finished runner-up in Thursday’s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Godfather shipped the event for ₹2.37 Lakhs. Haider ‘donktown22’ Madraswala came in second for ₹1.74 Lakhs. Following this win, Basha has crossed ₹3.42 Crores in online earnings.

The ₹10 Lakhs GTD APT#15 Megastack pitted the 2020 India Poker Champion Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo against PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja for the title.
