It was an overlay avalanche yesterday! Spartan Poker’s Millionaire, Adda52’s Full House, PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack and PokerStars India’s Sunday Special, all had to fill in sizable overlays, ultimately offering a lot of value to players. Without wasting too much time, let’s get right down to business!

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker’s most-beloved tournament, The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD, returned to the virtual felts last night. Clocking in 895 entries, the event had a massive deficit of ₹10.50 Lakhs. The battle to become the latest Millionaire was a hard-fought one that witnessed the likes of Young Gun Anmol ‘Anzzzzz’ Mehta (3rd for ₹8.42 Lakhs), India’s poker pioneer Aditya ‘Yennefer’ Agarwal (4th for ₹6.45 Lakhs), Dhaval ‘MandirYahinBanayenge’ Mudgal (5th for ₹5.11 Lakhs), Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra (6th for ₹3.98 Lakhs), Manish ‘potlords’ Gandhi (7th for ₹2.90 Lakhs) and Surbhit ‘grovahova’ Grover (8th for ₹1.98 Lakhs), competing for the top honors. In the end, it came down to a duel between site regular ‘McFly’ and MTT crusher Sriharsha ‘Potato Player’ Doddapaneni. The duo decided to strike a deal with the former shipping the title for ₹15.88 Lakhs, and Doddapaneni taking home ₹14.97 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. In fact, Doddapaneni also final tabled PokerStars India’s Sunday Special, finishing fifth for ₹74,218.

The Sunday flagship, ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday SuperStack had an eventful run on Spartan Poker. With 726 entries on the board, the tourney managed to generate a commendable ₹36.30 Lakhs prize pool. ‘Rsourabh491’ won the event for ₹7 Lakhs, even as PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh finished runner-up for ₹4.41 Lakhs.

Adda52

Running alongside Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire was Adda52’s ₹1 Crore GTD AOPS Full House. The tournament locked in 1,972 entrants across six starting flights, falling ₹1.40 Lakhs short of the eight-figure guarantee. Only 214 runners made it through to Day 2, and 211 players were able to finish ITM. Rohit ‘rohitvaswani’ Vaswani turned out to be the biggest winner on Sunday after besting former Adda52 Team pro Kunal ‘kunalpatni’ Patni heads-up in the AOPS Full House Finale for a colossal top prize of ₹21 Lakhs. Patni netted his second-best online score to date of ₹12.60 Lakhs, taking his overall recorded winnings tally over the ₹2 Crores-mark. Bhavye ‘noobpro’ Mittal rounded out the top three finishes by placing third for ₹8 Lakhs.

Even though the AOPS Full House has a dry run, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD AOPS Millions fared much better. The event posted a guarantee-busting ₹27.70 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 277 entries. One of the most promising names of the domestic circuit, Srihari ‘zombieballs’ Bang, topped the field and outlasted PokerGuru Ambassador Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra heads-up to capture the title. The duo struck a heads-up deal that saw Bang collecting ₹5.99 Lakhs, while Mishra received an equally impressive ₹5.32 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. Bang is presently ranked #3 on the annual leaderboard with almost ₹1.88 Crores in winnings.

Nishaanth ‘superdeluxe’ Shanmughasundaram has been in superb form since last week. After taking down PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack last Sunday for ₹5.08 Lakhs, he was back in the thick of the action and championed the ₹20 Lakhs GTD AOPS Big Slick for ₹4.90 Lakhs. Ayush ‘lazyman’ Garg, who was chasing his third AOPS title, placed second for ₹2.68 Lakhs. The event logged in 858 runners, registering an overlay of ₹69,500.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi’s signature Sunday event, the ₹25 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack, attracted 494 participants, but it wasn’t enough to meet the advertised guarantee, ultimately resulting in an overlay of ₹30,000. Mystery user ‘pokerghajini’ championed the event for ₹4.86 Lakhs, after defeating Subhrit ‘grovahova’ Grover (runner-up for ₹3.41 Lakhs) heads-up.

The other marquee event on PokerBaazi was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD BSS MegaStack. With a turnout of 326 entries, the event registered a shortfall of ₹1.85 Lakhs on its listed guarantee. Online regular Pranav ‘pranavpoker’ Khandalkar locked horns with Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani in the final showdown. The former came out on top and pocketed ₹2.21 Lakhs, while Mahboobani bagged ₹1.55 Lakhs in second-place prize money.

PokerStars India

The two ₹20 Lakhs GTD tourneys on PokerStars India, the Sunday Special Progressive KO, and the Sunday Highroller, have been filling in overlays consistently these past few weeks. This Sunday was no different. The Sunday Special gathered 381 entries, and the site had to fill in an overlay of ₹95,000. Well-known pro Chirag ‘WhyworrY_56’ Sodha scrambled past the field and claimed the title and top prize of ₹4.03 Lakhs. He cut a heads-up deal with Rocky ‘ravenvlaw410’ Gehlot, who finished runner-up for ₹2 Lakhs.

The Sunday Highroller had an abysmal showing and ended up registering a shortfall of ₹4.20 Lakhs through 158 entries. Avijit ‘SwangoRay’ Jaiswal got the best deal on the value on offer and banked ₹3.54 Lakhs in first-place prize money. ‘loctobonbon’ received the same amount of ₹3.54 Lakhs for coming in second, after the duo agreed to a heads-up deal.
