It was a blockbuster Sunday that saw not one or two, but three high-value series come to an end. The Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) concluded by crowning an AOPS Main Event Finale champion in Vishal Tulsyan, who was the biggest winner on the domestic felts last night, banked a life-altering ₹43.80 Lakhs. The PokerBaazi Premier League’s (PPL) magnum opus, PPL The MoneyMaker, was shipped by Jai Saha for a mouth-watering ₹20.84 Lakhs. At the same time, Manash Kalita became the latest Spartan Poker Ultimate Value Series (UVS) Millionaire Lite champion, winning a cool ₹10 Lakhs.
Even though the domestic felts were exploding with action, the center of attention, was undoubtedly Event #64: $840 Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em of the ongoing 2020 WSOP Online series. India’s “Mandovi” created history by trouncing the 2,207-player field to become the fifth Indian player to win the bracelet. The victory fetched them a mind-boggling $234,433 (~₹1.76 Crores)!
It was a fantastic day at the series for Team India as another player from the team, “pokermafiaa,” placed fourth in Event #62: $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha for $88,727 (~₹66.41 Lakhs). That’s not all! “M26GreenWood” placed runner-up in Event #63: $500 Mini Main Event, $5M GTD for a jaw-dropping $586,157 (~₹4.38 Crores). Between these scores, Team India raked in over ₹6 Crores!
The $25 Million GTD 2020 WSOP Online Main Event is geared up to kick-off tonight on GGPoker and Natural8. Comprising of 22 starting flights, the $5,000 buy-in tourney allows players to fire a maximum of three bullets. Day 2 will play out on August 30 and continue till just 40 players remain in the field. Spartan Poker
Leading the charge on Spartan Poker was the ₹40 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack that registered 762 participants, registering a shortfall of ₹1.9 Lakhs. There was a tussle for the title between mystery user ‘veselka’ and Arjunn ‘Arjunn Ag’ Agrawal. The duo agreed upon a heads-up chop, with the former walking away with the title and the ₹6.97 Lakhs top prize. Agrawal banked an equally impressive ₹5.60 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Spartan Poker’s UVS wrapped up last night with the ₹35 Lakhs GTD UVS#34 The Millionaire Lite crowning a champion in Manash ‘Ravenclaws’ Kalita. The up-and-coming player bested former Millionaire champion Avadh ‘cateyes’ Shah (runner-up for ₹5.11 Lakhs) heads-up to claim the hefty ₹10 Lakhs winner’s payday! With this win, Kalita now has ₹30.96 Lakhs in recorded online earnings. The ₹1,650 buy-in tournament garnered 2,119 entries across three starting flights, but it wasn’t enough to avoid overlays. The site ended up filling in a deficit of ₹3.22 Lakhs.
Rounding out the marquee Sunday tourneys on Spartan Poker was the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Money Heist. The event saw 403 contenders pay up the ₹3,300 buy-in, but still fell ₹2.91 Lakhs short of the break-even mark. Anonymous user ‘steamin’ took down the event for ₹3.01 Lakhs, while ‘pokershokerr’ placed runner-up for ₹2 Lakhs.
PokerGuru Ambassador Parikshit Dhall deserves special mention for final tabling three events last night. These include Spartan Poker’s UVS#34 The Millionaire Lite (3rd for ₹2.85 Lakhs) and Sunday SuperStack (7th for ₹1.23 Lakhs), and PokerBaazi’s PPL#57 (runner-up for ₹33,860).

Locking in a 2,063-strong entry field, the ₹11,000 buy-in event fell ₹4.37 Lakhs short of its proposed guarantee. Online reg Vishal ‘amarkhatri999’ Tulsyan raced past the reg-infested field to claim the monstrous top prize of ₹43.80 Lakhs, which also happens to be his personal-best score to date. Tulsyan has had a dry spell of late with his last title win coming in the ₹3.5 Lakhs GTD AOPS Brunch for ₹1.33 Lakhs on May 7. This was a much welcome win for him, taking his overall online winnings to ₹81.5 Lakhs.

The ₹11,000 buy-in event locked in 1,241 entries, generating a guarantee-smashing ₹1.24 Crores prize pool. Well-known reg Jai ‘jksisme’ Saha obliterated the competition to capture the top honors, including a whopping ₹20.84 Lakhs payday. He had finished runner-up in the last ₹1 Crore GTD PPL The MoneyMaker in March, and this time he placed one place better to win the title outright. An online beast, Varma was also at his absolute best as he final tabled two other tournies – Adda52’s AOPS Main Event Finale (6th for ₹7.40 Lakhs) and Spartan Poker’s UVS#34 The Millionaire Lite (4th for ₹1.89 Lakhs) for total earnings of ₹23.90 Lakhs!

This victory has propelled Malik’s online winnings to ₹1.2 Crores, of which ₹23.66 Lakhs he has earned on PokerStars India.
The ₹18 Lakhs GTD Sunday Special Progressive KO carried the overlay trend further. After 317 runners joined the tourney, the event booked a shortfall of ₹2.15 lakhs. Seasoned pro Shravan ‘lukBo$$13’ Chhabria topped the field and took home ₹3.63 Lakhs in the top prize, after a heads-up deal with Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma who bagged ₹2.41 Lakhs in second-place prize money.
