As the COVID-19 situation in the country keeps getting grimmer by the day and with several states going under lockdown, staying at home has become the best thing to do. It is starting to feel like last year when the nationwide lockdown led to a meteoric spike in online poker traffic. Moreover, with the tropical cyclone Tauktae hitting the southwest portion of the country and still moving forward and the second wave of the pandemic wreaking havoc, poker players seem to be making the best of the situation by putting in more time on the virtual felts.
Given the above briefing, it is pretty evident that this Sunday was an action-packed one. Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire was the biggest guaranteed tournament on offer, and for a second-consecutive week, a PokerGuru Ambassador, this time Vivek Singh, took down the flagship tourney for a career-best ₹19.05 Lakhs (1st for ₹18.68 Lakhs and 36th for ₹36,337).
Vivek Singh clinched his first-ever The Millionaire title after beating out Game Changer 3.0 champion, Siddhanth Kripalani, heads-up. The two-time Destiny winner took home ₹10.45 Lakhs (2nd for ₹10.21 Lakhs, 138th for ₹14,490 and 224th for ₹9,622) in cumulative winnings.
Young Gun Sahil Chutani seems to have become a staple in our ‘Sunday Online Railbird Reports.’ The former APT Mini Main Event runner-up finisher took down the Sunday Superstack last night for ₹7.92 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop with fellow Young Gun Devang Yadav (runner-up for ₹7.84 Lakhs).
The two-time Millionaire champion Manish Lakhotia was another player making headlines. The Siliguri-based pro has overtaken Young Gun Gaurav Sood on the annual leaderboard, claiming the #2 rank after winning the Adda52 Millions title for the third time for ₹7.29 Lakhs.
Online phenom Sagar Choudhury won PokerBaazi’s BSS#4 SuperStack for ₹4.32 Lakhs, while BSS Leaderboard topper Anirban D Das finished runner-up for ₹3.02 Lakhs.
Gaurav Sood (Won PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller PKO for ₹3.73 Lakhs), Divik Arora (Won PokerDangal’s DVS Main Event for ₹3.25 Lakhs), and Rubin Labroo (Won PokerStars India’s Sunday Special PKO for ₹3.13 Lakhs) were the other big Sunday winners.
Here are the Sunday highlights!

Spartan Poker`s second ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire after The Millionaire Series was as successful as its predecessor. The ₹5,500 entry buy-in event clocked in 2,264 entries across five starting flights, leading to a guarantee-crushing ₹1.13 Crores prize pool. Day 2 kicked off at 10 PM on Sunday with 337 qualifying stacks (230 unique players) and played down to a winner in the wee hours of Monday morning (4:16 AM), with PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh emerging as the victor!
Vivek Singh claimed his career-first Millionaire title for a personal-best ₹18.68 Lakhs payday, denying former IOPC Millionaire United champion Siddhanth ‘PluRibu$’ Kripalani (runner-up for ₹10.21 Lakhs) his second Millionaire title.
Having carried multiple stacks to Day 2, Vivek Singh also placed 36th for ₹36,337, taking his overall score in The Millionaire to ₹19.05 Lakhs. Siddhanth Kripalani picked up two more cashes (138th for ₹14,490 and 224th for ₹9,622), raking in a cumulative ₹10.45 Lakhs.

With 497 participants ponying up the ₹11,000 entry buy-in, the tournament comfortably surpassed its proposed guarantee, reaching a hefty ₹49.70 Lakhs prize pool. The heads-up showdown was a battle between Young Guns Sahil ‘$lim$hady19’ Chutani and Devang ‘equity_hunter’ Yadav. Labroo bested ‘masterssmaan’ (runner-up for ₹2.03 Lakhs) heads-up to claim the Sunday Special title for a third time in over two years, boosting his lifetime tally to ₹6.44 Crores.
Kicking off two-and-a-half hours after the Sunday Special was the ₹12 Lakhs GTD Sunday Highroller.
