The second running of World Poker Tour (WPT) India is just a day away and as we brace ourselves in anticipation of an action-packed week ahead, lets take a look at some of the big online winners this past Sunday.

After taking the WPT Vietnam by storm where he took down the Ho Chi Minh Cup for VND 246,950,000 (₹7.70 Lakhs), Zarvan ‘MomSaid5Bet’ Tumboli was back in action and all warmed up for a charged week Goa as he headlined the winner’s list this past Sunday. Tumboli juggernauted his way to the top in the Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹15 Lakhs GTD on India’s most trusted poker site PokerBaazi for a much-welcome ₹3 Lakhs payday. Some other big winners on the site were ‘Rick’, who won the BSS PLO ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.25 Lakhs and Shekhar ‘shakyshark’ Singh, who placed first in the BSS MegaStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.20 Lakhs.

Another trailblazer who made the Sunday grind count was Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover. Grover emerged as the winner in 9stacks’ signature Sunday event, i.e. Sunday Stacks, banking ₹2.55 Lakhs in prize money. The Sunday Stacks event has been the mainstay of the site for a long time now and more recently saw the weekly guarantee increasing from ₹5 Lakhs to ₹10 Lakhs, along with an earlier start time of 5 pm. For a buy-in of ₹5,500, the latest Sunday Stacks event pulled in over 183 entries (136 unique and 47 re-buys), obliterating the prize pool guarantee with a total kitty of ₹10,06,500.

Another domestic site with an aggressive MTT-schedule – PokerStars India has also recently introduced a change in it`s premiere Sunday event, making it a progressive KO format. The Sunday Special – Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD was the biggest event hosted on PokerStars India this past week and saw several notables in the running for the title. Some prominent scores had Young Gun Nadeem ‘Downtownplaya’ Basha (10th for ₹9,419), Team PokerStars India pro Muskan Sethi (12th for ₹9,414) and First Lady of Indian Poker Shuchi ‘pescatarian8’ Chamaria (13th for ₹9,414) taking home a piece of the prize money, but topping the scorecard was ‘P$_FI$H’ who collected a handsome ₹1.54 Lakhs top prize. In other events, ‘Dr4gonW4rrior’ shipped the Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹47,496, while Rony ‘GoGetters1’ Chowdhury claimed ₹37,603 in The Classic – Progressive KO ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD. Sandeep Varma ‘effuno007’ RS picked up ₹29,685 as first-place prize money in the Sunday Supersonic ₹1.25 Lakhs GTD.

MadOverPoker`s new high-value tournament i.e. Rehab ₹5 Lakhs GTD made another strong showing on Sunday with 219 unique entries and outlasting them all was ‘Luckpoker’, who pocketed ₹1.05 Lakhs in prize money. The other events on MadOverPoker crowned winners in Amarjit ‘ninjakar’ Singh (Dynamite for ₹45,000), Himadri ‘Black Cat’ Pal (Grenade for ₹28,870) and Hriday ‘Sigma’ Mondal (NightCrawler for ₹11,702).
