Wow! What a phenomenal Sunday it was! Every top online poker site had something attractive on offer. While Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi lured in the crowds with their ₹1 Crore GTD offerings, The Millionaire and The MoneyMaker, respectively, Adda52 replaced its signature Sunday tourney, the Full House Finale, with the Grand Mega Suits that played out its final day alongside the NANO series flagships. Where Adda52 had something new, PokerStars India returned with another edition of its Sunday staple Sunday Special and Sunday Highroller tournaments.

Last night was nothing short of a Bollywood ‘masala’ movie with the online sites offering massive guarantees, the marquees getting hit by overlays, and many big stars emerging as Sunday champions!

Without further ado, here is a recap of what went down yesterday!

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker has made a habit of hosting a Millionaire tournament almost every week. The latest ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire commenced on Friday and locked in 2,132 entries by the time the late registration for its fourth and final flight ran out last night. Sporting a ₹5,500 entry buy-in, the tourney comfortably breached its guarantee, generating a prize pool worth ₹1.06 Crores!

After six hours of intense play on Day 2, PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ‘FreeFlow’ Veeravalli decimated the competition to win his career-first Millionaire title for a mouth-watering ₹17.79 Lakhs! This also happens to be his biggest online score to date. A cash game specialist, Veeravalli, had ₹2.24 Crores in lifetime online earnings to his name before this win with his previous personal-best score of ₹10.30 Lakhs coming in Adda52’s AOPS ₹30 Lakhs GTD Godfather back in April.

Veeravalli outlasted Sagar ‘Strangeplay’ Choudhury (runner-up for ₹9.96 Lakhs), Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover (4th for ₹5.30 Lakhs), Romit ‘tilt_83’ Advani (5th for ₹4 Lakhs), fellow teammate Gokul ‘Super Kings’ Raj (7th for ₹2.64 Lakhs), Yudhisthir Singh ‘Rowdy6’ Rathore (8th for ₹1.76 Lakhs) and Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit (9th for ₹1.46 Lakhs) on the final table.

Spartan Poker’s Sunday staple event, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack, was among the tournaments hit by the overlay express. A turnout of 651 entrants resulted in a shortfall of ₹2.45 Lakhs. Well-known poker pro and renowned poker coach Abhishek ‘MambaMentality’ Goindi championed the tourney for a cool ₹6.04 Lakhs. Abhishek ‘nbc345’ Rathod settled for a runner-up payout worth ₹4.99 Lakhs. This is Goindi’s second time winning the Sunday Superstack; he had previously won this event on September 27 for ₹6.92 Lakhs.

While Veervalli did Team PokerGuru proud by becoming the latest Millionaire champion, he wasn’t the only Team Ambassador making heads turn yesterday. PokerGuru Ambassador Gokul Raj, who had shipped the ₹30 Lakhs GTD Destiny on August 19, went on to take down the DESTINY 16.0 Finale SnG for an impressive ₹5 Lakhs. Adding his final table score from the Millionaire, Raj raked in ₹7.64 Lakhs yesterday. Young Gun Gaurav Sood (runner-up for ₹3 Lakhs) and Manish Lakhotia (3rd for ₹2 Lakhs) rounded out the top three in the Destiny Finale.

Taking a break from the ₹1 Crore GTD Full House, Adda52 brought back the ₹60 Lakhs GTD Grand Mega Suits. The multi-flight tourney wrangled in 1,020 entries across four starting flights, eventually landing up with a massive ₹9 Lakhs deficit. Racing ahead of the field to claim the title was Chandan ‘darkfish15’ Arora, who bested Pankaj ‘Pok3rking’ Nanda (runner-up for ₹8.50 Lakhs) heads-up for a hefty ₹12 Lakhs payout!
