The biggest and snazziest online poker tournament series, the 2014 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) returns today i.e. Sept 7th. Online poker giant PokerStars has put up a massive $40 Million guarantee across the 66 events in the series that runs from Sept 6-28.
The haute cuisine of poker feast begins today at 17:30 pm with the $109 No-Limit Hold’em WCOOP Kickoff two-day event that features a $ 700,000 guarantee. Two side dishes, equally mouthwatering will accompany the above, with the $215 No-limit Hold’em events, which includes the $1.5 million guaranteed Sunday Million special tournament that kicks off at midnight tonight.
The smorgasbord will reach its crescendo with the lip-smacking $10 million guaranteed prize pool, $5,200 buy-in Main Event running Sept 28 and 29. For the first time ever, this will be telecast live, with commentary from members of Team PokerStars, besides EPT Live team of James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton.
Team Mentor Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal had hinted in a recent interview that the Indian crew is planning a massive Team WCOOP Grind, “I will be flying to Mumbai right after on 19th, reaching on 20th to play some WCOOP events with the online crew. Sushi (donkab0mber), Sahil (antilog) will be there along with the Mumbai crew of kavishk, bblack (bblacklegend), jasven (jasven06), kanishka (kanishka27) so really looking forward to that as well…,” said Aditya in the interview.

The annual series not only arrives with its delicious array of usual events, but also some exciting new additions, such as live telecast (10 min delay) on Pokerstars.tv for the first time, besides a never-before promotional offer from PokerStars “The Protégé!”
In addition to this there is also the WCOOP Player of the Series in place. Each event in the WCOOP will award points towards the Player of the Series leaderboard and the winner will win a Champion´s trophy, a 2015 PCA Package, a 2015 EPT Grand Final Package and entry into the 2015 Turbo Championships of Online Poker Main Event.
Last year the Main Event was won by “PlayinWasted” of Germany, after a three-way deal with two other finalists, both also from Germany. PlayinWasted joins the ranks of other illustrious Main event winners, such as Thomas Pedersen, Tyson Marks, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Carter King, and Marat “maratik” Sharafutdinov.
