August 24 was a landmark day for Indian poker! For the second time in a matter of six months, PokerBaazi’s epic online tournament – The Game Changer – has created a new record for the largest online field in the country! Eclipsing its ₹2 Crores guarantee despite a reduced buy-in of ₹5,500, the tournament pulled in a record-breaking 4,796 entries in its second edition that helped collect nearly ₹2.63 Crores in prize money.
The final starting flight, Day 1D, locked in 1,210 entries (712 unique and 498 re-entries), out of which only 116 runners advanced to Day 2. Headlining the list of survivors was Adithiyya ‘Bezerk1’ SB who bagged 397,719 in chips, with Shagun ‘sogani22’ Jain (385,434) and ‘Skipper’ (383,353) rounding out the top three stacks.
With all the four starting flights now in the books, a total of 431 entrants have progressed to Day 2. These survivors will reconvene for a final time on August 25 at 6 PM where the starting stacks will get adjusted in proportion to the no of BB’s they had at the end of their respective starting flights. The play will then resume to crown the new (it could be Prasanth Shekhar again) Game Changer champion in the wee hours on Monday morning.
The fourth and final starting flight of The Game Changer 2.0, Day 1D, was the only flight with a Turbo format. The play commenced at 8 PM on August 24 and ran a short sprint till 11:37 PM.
