Europe’s biggest Poker room, King’s Casino, in association with India’s most trusted poker site PokerBaazi, will host the The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) from August 15th to 19th, 2018 at the Kings Casino Rozvadov in Czech Republic.
The series is the brainchild of founders Jaydeep Dawer and Manish Goenka, who came up with an idea of hosting an Indian series abroad during one of their travels to King’s Casino in January 2018. In a conversation with PokerGuru, Dawer talked about the fact that small and medium stakes players in India rarely get to experience playing overseas due to budgetary constraints. Keeping this in mind, TIPS has been planned in such a way that the player’s budget would be the same as any tournament series held in Goa, with the buy-in of the entire series not exceeding ₹1 Lakh.
Manish Goenka added that such low buyin tournaments with High Value Guarantees under an Indian Banner in the European Circuit is a first of its kind and could have only been possible at King’s Casino. He was all praises for Leon Tsoukernik, Michal Hanzik, Juan Perez and the King’s Team to provide such a fantastic platform to the Indian & Asian Poker players. He further added that there would be a lot of action and surprises at TIPS, Rozvadov for everyone and that planning for TIPS 2 has already started and that the second edition would be much bigger than the upcoming inaugural edition.
While live satellites were held in Mumbai and Kolkata, TIPS joined hands with PokerBaazi as its official online partner to run online satellites for the series. There were also a series of cash games centric promotions run on MadOverPoker (MOP) for winning seats to TIPS. The Satellites, Cash promotions and Pan-India publicity were more than a smashing success as a contingent of over 50 Indian players will be travelling to the Czech Republic on August 14th.
Comprising of a total of eight events, with buy-in ranging from €35 to €200, with a combined prize pool of aproximately €179,000, TIPS is poised to be a huge success!
To make it even more lucrative for players, TIPS had satellite packages worth ₹1.6 Lakhs up for grabs, which include Air tickets, five-night stay at the King’s Casino Hotel, all meals and tickets to the Main Event and High Roller.
