This week has been all about SCOOP and the excitement on PokerGuru has been crazy with members selling action on the forums and railing fellow members on the PokerGuru skype group. This incidentally is also the highest cash by an Indian so far this year.
The other Indian sharing the limelight this week is our young gun of poker – Sahil ‘Antilog’ Agarwal. Just as EPT Season 10 is set to commence action in Barcelona on August 28, Season 9 came to an end with the conclusion of the Super High Roller Event, crowning Max Altergott as the event`s champion.
The 2013 EPT Grand Final €100,000 no-limit hold’em super high roller drew a total of 50 entries, building a prizepool of f €4,851,000 ($6,275,253 USD) and payed out top seven finishers. Altergott won a lion’s share of this prize pool claiming €1,746,400 ($2,259,143 USD). “I felt quite confident because I’m used to playing many of these guys online, so I had a good feeling about how they play. It was a challenge for me though. It feels really good to beat those guys. I won’t lie – my heart was beating like crazy at the end,” said Altergott shortly after winning the event.
Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier who entered the day in the pole position came heads up against Altergott but ultimately fell short of the title eventually finishing second to take home €1,115,700 ($1,443,270 USD).
The final table saw an incredible bunch of poker pros including Sorel Mizzi (3rd – €679,100), Timothy Adams (4th – €485,100) Scott Seiver (6th – €266,900) and Mike Watson (7th – €218,300).
