PokerStars.net launches Facebook App

On February 5th, PokerStars unveiled the limited beta launch of PokerStars.net for Facebook.
The flash application has a built-in store that allows players to buy virtual items like chips and gold coins, which can be spent in play or in enhancing your avatar at the table. The available games are ring games, tournaments and Zoom Poker.
Phil Ivey Buys LeggoPoker and plans to rebrand as Ivey League
The news broke on February 7th that Phil Ivey, of the recently launched IveyPoker.com, has acquired the poker training site Leggopoker. This training site will be closed and relaunched as Ivey League, a subscription based online poker training site.

Conditional Veto by Gov. Chris Christie paves way for Online Poker in NJ, USA.
On Thursday, governor Chris Christie took a large step in the direction of legalizing online gambling in the state of New Jersey, by conditionally vetoing the online gambling bill, with the proposed changes not to be expected to be met with resistance from New Jersey lawmakers.
Minor changes to the bill include an increase of taxes on operators from 10% to 15%, additional funding to prevent gambling problems and an expiration period of 10 years.
