The business end of Spartan Poker’s IOPC and PokerBaazi’s APT India made for an electrifying start to February. Grabbing the most eyeballs was the ₹3.50 Crores GTD IOPC #114 – The Crown, which was not just the most-massive guaranteed event playing down this Sunday but also the biggest flagship we’ve seen running this year. Not surprisingly, The Crown champion headlines the weekly charts!

Bagging the bragging rights and the majestic crown was none other than Amit Gehani. The 41-year-old player won the prestigious title for a career-best ₹56.88 Lakhs (cumulatively across three ITM finishes), making him our “PokerGuru Star of the Week!” In addition to winning a real-life gold and diamond-studded crown, Gehani will also receive an exclusive IOPC NFT for his victory. Spartan Poker is the first brand in India to launch exclusive gaming NFTs.

PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Munot, Shashank Shekhar, Akshay Kapoor, Nitin Arora, and Young Gun Siddhanth Kripalani were the week’s other top scorers.

Hot on the heels of a hugely successful IOPC edition, Spartan Poker has rolled out its “Feb Fiesta” leaderboard-based promotion. The cash game promotion runs from February 7 to 27.

If you’ve not been able to come out of the IOPC grove yet, then PokerHigh has just the thing for you! The site has announced a ₹20K GTD IOPC Hangover Freeroll on February 11 at 8.30 PM.

The fast-growing online poker site, IndiaPlays, has two ₹50K GTD Depositors Freerolls coming up on February 13 and 27.

In international news, the PokerGO Cup has been the talk of the high-stakes MTT community. Returning for its second edition on February 2, already six events have been played inside the PokerGO Studio at the Aria in Las Vegas. Grabbing the headlines was the most recent PokerGO Cup winner, GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu, who took down Event #6: $25K NLHE for $350,000. Besides Negreanu, Daniel Colpoys (Won Event #1: $10K NLHE for $200,200), Sean Perry (Won Event #2: $10K NLHE for $200,000), Jake Daniels (Won Event #3: $10K NLHE for $200,000), Jeremy Ausmus (Event #4: $15K NLHE for $263,250) and Nick Petrangelo (Won Event #5: $25K NLHE for $369,000) won PokerGO Cup titles.

Online Railbird Report

The first India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) edition of 2022 – the 12th in IOPC history, is now in the books. While the ₹30 Crores guaranteed series left behind several standout winners, no one comes close to 41-year-old Amit Gehani. The former IOPC – Legends champion decimated the 3,938-strong field in the series’ showstopper ₹3.50 Crores GTD IOPC #114 – The Crown on Sunday, banking a life-changing ₹56.40 Lakhs. Gehani cashed twice more in the event, netting a mind-blowing ₹56.88 Lakhs collectively, making him our “PokerGuru Star of the Week!”
