The opening week of November is turning out to be a ground-breaking one for online MTT players, with major happenings across the top online poker platforms. Spartan Poker is hosting its fifth and biggest-to-date Final Table Series, while PokerBaazi has its ₹7 Crores GTD G.O.A.T running! The latter’s monthly staple ₹1 Crore GTD The MoneyMaker made another scintillating run on Tuesday, even as PokerStars India’s all-new Boosted GTD Week got off to a guarantee-crushing start!

Despite the fireworks on the virtual felts, the week`s top-scoring Indian was Santhosh Suvarna, who pulled out a blistering run at the 2022 European Poker Tour (EPT) London. The casino operator pulled out a terrific run at the now-concluded series, posting three ITM finishes for £138,100 in total winnings. On the heels of his sixth-place finish in the £1,100 PLO last week worth £5,650, Suvarna raked in two hefty payouts towards the end. Suvarna almost won the £3K Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty, finishing runner-up for £96,700. He also posted a 10th place finish in the £10,300 High Roller for £35,750, rounding out over £132,450 over these two scores, making him our “PokerGuru Star of the Week!

The online charts saw a familiar name, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, headlining the list. The winningest player on our tracked database, Sood thrashed out three title victories (two of them in FTS 5.0) and posted another four top finishes, raking in a leaderboard-topping ₹28.61 Lakhs.

Tarush Gupta, Samay Singh Modi, Vaibhav Sharma, Ashutosh Balodhi, Vishal Bajaj, Ayush Garg, Arsh Grover, Mohammad Azhar, Shashank Shekhar, Neel Joshi, and Deepender Singh Ahlawat were the week`s other top online scorers.

This week also marked the launch of our all-new “The PokerGuru Challenge.” Through our brand-new property, we aim to promote a healthy race between the best-performing players in the community while giving them a chance to showcase their skills and get rewarded handsomely in the process. For the first challenge, we have teamed up with Pocket52. The task is to take down any primetime tournament on the site between October 29 – November 14 to win tickets to all the primetime events on Pocket52 for a week. Win any primetime event on the site twice in two weeks, and you get tickets to all the primetime events on the site for another 21 days!

While marquees like FTS 5.0, G.O.A.T and Boosted GTD Week are already up and running, November is super exciting across the other poker platforms as well.

Pocket52 has rolled out its Super-Charged November, guaranteeing ₹3.60 Crores across boosted guaranteed tournaments, freerolls, and deposit offers, translating into at least a 20-50% higher ROI for players.

IndiaPlays’ 50% flat uncapped Rakeback offer on NLHE & PLO cash game tables has been a raving success. Hurry, the offer expires on November 13.

With the Diwali Lakhpati Party now in the books, MPL Poker has rolled out Timed Tournaments on its platform, offering competitive tournament action over a predefined tournament length and up to 50X the buy-in value.

Cash game players are in for a major treat on PokerDangal that will be dishing out ₹1 Crore in guaranteed prizes this month via the November Cash Drop. The promotion comprises the ₹25 Lakhs GTD MVP (November 7 – December 7), the ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Ace Race 3.0 (November 4 – December 3), and Deposit Offers.

In Tamil Nadu, Governor RN Ravi has approved the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling & Regulation of Online Games Bill of 2022, effectively making playing or conducting online games like rummy and poker illegal and punishable. A legal challenge to the new law is imminent.

In other developments, a single-judge bench of the Karnataka High Court heard arguments in the GamesKraft vs. Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) GST evasion case over two days on October 28 & 29. Tilting in favor of the petitioners, Justice SR Krishna Kumar questioned how the DGGI provided the grounds for classifying rummy and poker as games of chance and asked whether DGGI officials were competent to decide the nature of the game.
