“The PokerGuru Show” made a grand return this week with Episode 5, and the focus this time was on India Poker Championship’s ₹8 Crores GTD Final Table Series, aka, FTS. Joining us on this special episode was a star-studded lineup of guests featuring Nikita Luther, Rubin Labroo, Gokul Raj, Zarvan Tumboli, and Ramesh Rao Thotapalli.
Even though FTS was the overarching topic of conversation, the panel also delved into other equally relevant issues related to the poker industry today, such as the impact of COVID-19, MTT structures, poker’s growth trajectory in India, and the game’s legal challenges.
‘Off the Felt’ With Muskan Sethi Ft. Maria Ho – Season 2, Ep.1
PokerStars India Team Pro Muskan Sethi sounded off Season 2 of her “Off the Felt” With Muskan Sethi podcast with none other than Maria Ho. Ho, who will be the guest commentator on the FTS Main Event final table live-stream, talked about life amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, what players can do to maximize their edge and her poker career.
IPC Final Table Series – Exciting Action on the Stream!
The IPC pulled off a smashing debut on the virtual felts with its inaugural The Final Table Series (FTS) taking the poker community by storm!.FTS is one of India’s first series where the FT action at featured tourneys was live-streamed, replete with commentary from decorated domestic and international poker celebrities/pros.
The ₹40 Lakhs GTD FTS #2 Kick-Off commenced its FT play at 6 PM on November 18. It took less than an hour to play down to a winner, and walking away with the top honors was Young Gun Arsh Grover, who won the champion`s medallion and ₹7.67 Lakhs for the victory!
Siddharth Singhvi championed the ₹70 Lakhs GTD FTS #5 Monster Stack for ₹11.55 Lakhs.
There was a massive rail watching the cards-up FT live-stream of the ₹1 Crore GTD FTS Big Game. Dhirendra ‘dhiru91’ Kumar eventually outran the start-of-the-FT chip leader, Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved, after an hour-long heads-up battle to grab the mammoth ₹19.50 Lakhs cash prize and the gold medallion.
The ₹1 Crore GTD FTS Highroller also wound down to crown a champion on Saturday. India`s first bracelet winner Aditya Sushant took down the title for ₹20.97 Lakhs after striking a three-way deal with the other top regs on the FT, Raghav Bansal (2nd for ₹20.79 Lakhs) & Jagdeep Singh (3rd for ₹20.49 Lakhs)!
WPT Online India Live Streams – Adda52
The WPT Online India series is now onto its final day, and given the extensive streaming schedule this past week, poker fans were treated with numerous live-streams and cards-up FT replays of featured events.
Aditya Wadhwani streams the action on Day 1A of the ₹2.5 Crores GTD Main Event while playing the WPT Monday Feature.
Wadhwani was back on the stream to play the WPT Table for 6.
While you’re at it, check out Jaideep Sajwan streaming his run on Day 1C of the WPT Online India Main Event. Later, he registers in other WPT India tourneys like the WPT Deepstack.
Sajwan fired another bullet in Day 1D of the Main Event while multi-tabling the WPT Thursday Feature.
Nikhil Segel & Shobhit Bhargava Stream For PokerStars India
Nikhil Segel and Shobhit Bhargava logged in more streaming hours for PokerStars India this week.
Mixed game enthusiast, Segel, played PLO6.
Streaming on his channel 569poker, Shobhit Bhargava played ₹5/₹10 cash games on PokerStars India.
PokerBaazi’s Poker Face Joker Challenge Finds New Contenders
PokerBaazi’s Poker Face Joke Face Challenge continued this week with a different set of comedians trying to make each other laugh. Watch Karunesh Talwar and Harsh Gujral trying to outwit each other in this challenge between two of the country’s funniest people.
Shreeja Chaturvedi and Gaurav Kapoor also took the challenge.
So did Ashish Shakya and Prashasti Singh.

Young Gun’s Anujkumar Kodam & Siddharth Karia Stream For PokerBaazi
The former MoneyMaker Champion and Young Gun, Anujkumar Kodam, was seen streaming his Monday session on PokerBaazi instead of the usual Saturday. He played the site’s Monday flagship tourney, The Bout.
Young Gun Siddharth Karia, as usual, streamed his Tuesday night run in The Endeavour on PokerBaazi. There was a sweat for the railbirds, with Karia posting an ITM finish in 51st place.
Mon ki Baat Season 2 Ft. Ashish Ahuja
Chandigarh-based lawyer-turned poker player Ashish Ahuja was the latest guest on 9stacks’ weekly show, Mon Ki Baat, hosted by Karan Sawhney.
P Se Poker – Sanjay Taneja
In this week’s episode of P Se Poker, Sanjay Taneja talked about the importance of maths in poker. He explains how basic mathematical skills can help players calculate pot-odds, equity, or expected value correctly, which can go a long way in improving profits.
Daniel Negreanu v/s Doug Polk – High Stakes Feud Session 6 to 9
The most awaited Grudge Match ever has been a swingy battle so far and even ran into some controversy. The lead has exchanged hands numerous times during the nine sessions that have been played so.
Daniel Negreanu was cruising in the challenge with back-to-back winnings sessions before Polk reversed the equation in Session 9. Polk walked away with a $205,000 profit and regained the overall lead by around $26,000.
The challenge is closing in on 4,000 hands – a little less than a third of the challenge is complete, that is, unless the duo decides to play the full 25,000 hands.

After two back-to-back winning sessions, GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu lost session 6 to Doug Polk, who bounced back with a $67,625.81 lead. Watch the highlights below.
Joe Ingram just couldn’t stay away from putting across his views on this epic battle. He was joined by poker prodigy Landon Tice. Watch the two share their insights on session 6 of the match below.
Session 7 ran mostly in Negreanu’s favor, and he booked a smashing $222,832.70 profit after 591 hands. Watch the highlights below.
Ingram and Tice also weighed in on the session.
Negreanu ended Session 8 in the green as well, registering a profit of $23K. This brought Negreanu’s overall lead to $179K.

Negreanu kept up the momentum through Session 9, booking a profit of $24K. He now officially holds a $203K+ lead on Polk.

The Galfond Challenge: Phil Galfond vs. Chance Kornuth – Sessions 26 – 29
Four more sessions have played out since our last update on the heads-up challenge between Phil Galfond and Chance Kornuth. The match is too close to call at the moment, with Galfond cutting down on his deficit significantly. Kornuth is currently in the lead for some $82,500.
Here are the highlights of the last four sessions.
Session 26 saw Galfond bounce back to register a $47,000 win, cutting his overall deficit to $174,500.
Galfond continued his upward climb and won $143,000 in session 27, cutting down Kornuth`s overall lead to $31,000.
Kornuth won session 28 for $48,000, extending his overall lead to $79,500.
Session 29 was neck to neck and a swingy battle! Galfond took an early lead, but Kornuth picked up in the last hour to end his day with a marginal $3,000 profit. Nonetheless, he’s still ahead of Galfond by $82,500.
