A loss of life is always a tragedy, and it’s even more disheartening when you hear about someone’s demise unexpectedly. On September 17, the poker world lost the co-founder of Triton Poker, Ivan Leow, 39, who died suddenly after suffering a heart attack.
Triton Poker made an official statement on the untimely passing of one of its co-founders, “Ivan was a hugely popular member of the Triton family. He was warm, generous, and enormous fun both at the tables and off – a loyal friend to us all. He was also a fantastic poker player, with a lifelong passion for the game.”
“Ivan was a very special person, who lived life to the full, was always smiling, and loved the game of poker. He will be sincerely missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him,” it added.
Triton Poker also announced that the two remaining Triton Cyprus events – Event #13: $100K Short Deck Main Event and Event #14: $25K Short Deck, have been canceled to “mourn his passing together.”
We have decided to cut short the Triton Series event in Northern Cyprus to mourn his passing together.

The final table of Event #12: $50,000 Short Deck Ante Only (with seven players remaining) was also postponed due to Leow’s passing.
Poker Career
Leow leaves behind a rich legacy! He had an illustrious poker career, boasting over $13 Million in live tournament winnings, and sat third on Malaysia’s all-time money list, behind his business partners and longtime friends Paul Phua and Richard Yong.
2018 was a breakout year for Leow, who won the Triton Jeju Short Deck Event ($1.1 Million), the partypoker MILLIONS Russia Main Event ($1.1 Million), and the €100K WSOP Europe High Roller ($1.4 Million)!
Leow’s last recorded tournament cash was his 12th place finish in Event #1: $25,000 NLHE for $59,000 at the 2022 Triton Super High Roller Series Cyprus two weeks ago.
