Pokercode.com cofounder & head coach Matthias Eibinger (cover image) outmaneuvered the 32-entry field (including 11 re-entries) in the 2022 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Cyprus Event #9: $50K NLHE 8-Handed Turbo, to win his second Triton Poker title of the year for $545,000. Jonathan Jaffe placed runner-up for $375,000.

Eibinger won his first Triton poker title in April this year when he took down the Triton Poker Cyprus SE Event #6 $50K NLHE 8-Handed Turbo for $676,000.

This was Matthias Eibinger’s second score in the ongoing series. He had placed fifth in Event #3: $50K NLHE 6-Handed for $431,800. Ranked #1 player in Austria’s All-Time Money List, Eibinger boosted his lifetime live earnings to $12,125,276.

The runner-up Jonathan Jaffe also posted his second score in the series. He had placed 9th in Event #5: $75K NLHE 8–Handed for $185,000. Following this deep run, his live scores tally reached $6,253,575.

The $50K buy-in event collected $1,600,000 in the prize pool and paid out the top six finalists.

Ebony Kenney, who came close to setting the record for the largest live tournament cash ever by a woman in $200K NLHE Coin Rivet Invitational, nearly bagged her third cash of the series in this event. However, she fell out in eighth place at the hands of Phil Nagy, the man who had invited her to the Coin Rivet Invitational. While nobody likes knocking out a friend, Kenney still earned $1.7 Million through her FT run in the Coin Rivet Invitational, so hopefully, there will be no hard feelings.

Scott Ball money bubbled the event in seventh place. His elimination assured the remaining six players a min-cash of $110,000.

Final Six Recap

Heads-up began with Jonathan Jaffe (46 BBs) having the chip lead over Matthias Eibinger (18 BBs), but Eibinger quickly doubled up to even them out.

In the final hand of the event, Eibinger woke up with pocket kings against Jaffe’s . The rundown showed no surprises as Eibinger championed the event for $545,000 and his second Triton title of the year.
