On the heels of an action-packed Sunday, it turned out to be a rather lazy Monday yesterday. Spartan Poker has always been at the forefront of providing players with the most lucrative guarantees and Monday too saw the site grabbing the spotlight. Last night, the site brought back its ever-popular Spartan Super Series (SSS), and unsurprisingly, the majority of the tournament regs were seen playing the tournaments on offer. The biggest guarantee event was the SSS#5 ReCharge ₹13 Lakhs GTD that clocked in 738 entries (315 unique, 140 re-entries, and 283 rebuys), collecting a record-smashing ₹14.76 Lakhs in the prize pool. Following several hours of grueling play, the Sunday SuperStack ₹30 Lakhs GTD winner from November 10, Venkatesh ‘Borissss’ Mukundan, reigned supreme as he pocketed an impressive ₹2.05 Lakhs for his win. In fact, Mukundan also cashed in the SSS#6 Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD last night, finishing 19th for ₹7,600.

The Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD was the only major on Spartan Poker’s roster yesterday that failed to meet its guarantee, falling ₹30,500 short of break-even. ‘Hell’ shipped the event for ₹1.52 Lakhs. The SSS#2 Afternoon Showdown ₹4 Lakhs GTD was championed by Naval ‘Kareem Lala’ Lekhra for ₹1.22 Lakhs. Chirag ‘chilling’ Sodha (4th for ₹45,288) and Utkarsh ‘kidpokerNJ’ Vaish (3rd for ₹54,825), both final tabled the event. The duo also final tabled the SSS#3 Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3 Lakhs GTD. However, this time around, Sodha emerged as the champion to win ₹73,830, while Vaish finished runner-up for ₹49,594.

The only non-SSS major on Spartan Poker last night, the Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD, was won by ‘FreeFlow’ for ₹70,543.

While Spartan Poker grabbed the majority of the attention, PokerBaazi’s flagship Monday tourney, The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD, was another tournament that pulled in the crowds. Attracting 270 entries (141 unique and 129 re-entries), the event generated ₹10.80 Lakhs in the prize pool. Ameya ‘Encashed’ Gokhale came out on top to win ₹2.38 Lakhs.

Even though The Bout avoided the overlay crunch, PokerBaazi’s Monday MegaStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD was not so lucky. The event suffered a slight overlay of ₹26,000, and Vishal ‘FlopturnRiver’ Madan took advantage of the value on offer to ship the tourney for ₹80,400.

Adda52’s Goa Fest ₹8 Lakhs GTD was also affected by the start of Spartan Poker’s SSS series, suffering a ₹61,080 overlay. ‘bossman_anmol’ juggernaut to the top of the 203-entry field (114 unique and 89 re-entries) and claimed ₹2.22 Lakhs in first-place prize money.

The Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD fared much better and logged in a prize pool of ₹3.09 Lakhs through 170 entries (96 unique and 74 re-entries). ‘aayush3110’ topped the event, banking ₹78,660.

Since the conclusion of the Diwali Rush series, PokerStars India seems to be going through a dry spell, and Monday was no different. The signature event last night, Monday Hustle ₹6 Lakhs GTD, had an overlay of ₹22,500 and drew in only 185 entries (94 unique and 91 re-entries). ‘vinaash’ defeated Young Gun Ujjwal ‘CougarHunter69’ Narwal (runner-up for ₹88,951) heads-up to clinch a top prize worth ₹1.19 Lakhs.

Over at 9stacks, the daily mainstay event – StackUp @8 PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD – found a winner in ‘MalgudiDays’ who bagged a paycheque of ₹67,500.

Lastly, ‘tourneypro’ emerged victorious in Poker Dangal’s Monday Texas ₹1 Lakhs GTD for ₹24,000.
